While out, they met a rather beautiful Ryoga, a simple wandering soul with no family and barely any friends.... ....they took advantage; Brutalized, beaten, and discarded in a ditch, she woke up to find a silver haired boy offering her fruit, and that boy resolved himself to kill not only the men who did this to her, but every single person involve or attached to them and try to make things right in the world... 120 years later, Gin betrayed Aizen the former Ranked officer turned captain turned traitor of Squad 5, and stole the Hyogyoku with the intent to change history so Rangiku never had to be haunted by those memories again. Unfortunately, he had to settle for knowing Aizen would die fighting Ichigo and give him his revenge.
Just imagine the iron will Gin must have had. Watching, waiting…. for millennia, for his moment to strike. Each day seeing your adversary getting more and more powerful. With each chance slipping by wondering “is this it? Is this the moment to strike?”

Nah, Gin is more interesting because his actions make sense in context. Itachi was literally a dog for the Hidden Leaf but he gets treated by the narrative like a tragic hero when he actually was a useful idiot.
Remember when he explained his own zanpakto to Ichigo. And the. Noticing that Ichigo is actually using that information to fight he just stops and is like “Why the Hell would you trust your enemy!?”
The perfect depiction of symbolism of a Fox and a Snake in one character in anime Snake- He was actually never felt like he's as loyal to Aizen as Tosen and Espadas were, it felt like he was a pure snake which is Aizen's pet from whom even the owner is not safe from, and since he could attack anyone at any time Fox - As we know that fox are one of the most intelligent animals, and with the fox move he waited for a long time and cleverly attacked on Aizen by knowing his weakness but since Aizen already had become immoral at that time, it did not end well (I could not put words on emphasizing his character but those who understands what I want to say, you are very smart 🙌) Gin deserves so much better He's the best character in Bleach

Urahara also fooled Aizen, you should remember he was someone Aizen himself acknowledged as someone smarter than him, at least half of the main plot points of this arc was something he calculated, like hiding the hogekyoku on Rukia's soul to draw Aizen out, proving his and the others innocence. As to why he did not bother with giving Aizen such a strong weapon? He already knew he had Ichigo, so it wouldn't matter much in the end.
I liked that Gin basically kicked them out on their first attempt because he knew all of them will die as every captain from the Gotei 13 would hunt them down unlike when they raided, thru Kuukaku's cannon, it coincided with Aizen's plan . Since the attention is divided into 2, not everyone will hunt them down.
Funny thing is everyone don't remember that one scene where they arrived at hueco mundo and split up to find inuoe, he was messing with the rooms so they could all meet up with different arrancars so I'm assuming he did the same for ichigo

Ichimaru Gin is one of the most under developed character in the bleach series. Deserved more screen time fights scene more hints of his real intentions.
Gin was specifically told by Aizen not to kill Ichigo but the rest of his lil buddies could die. Him messing with Rukia doesn't really stall for time, I think it's more along the lines of putting Rukia in the frame of mind to be rescued since she had so much resolve to die.
Rewatching bleach rn, in episode 35 after Hitsugaya stops the fight between Momo and Izuru, Gin says to Hitsugaya that he should keep an eye on Momo if he doesn't want any misfortune to befall her. Though it might be thought of as a threat, considering Gin's nature, he might actually be telling Toshiro to save her from her cruel fate, though I might be completely wrong.

Gin’s end was the first major crack in Kubo’s storytelling. He absolutely deserved the finishing blow against Aizen. He was an incredible character who deserved better.
Nah, Kubo meant for Gin to be a villain until he got too attached and wanted a redemption arc. This happens all the time with anime/manga BBEGs. They go to tremendous lengths to retcon the story to make it fit.
He was perfectly clear on his intent; to protect Rangiku. He even played it off as a joke just after she puts her blade to his throat. The look he gives her when this happens showed that he didnt want her to be there, so he tells Aizen, who is aware of this intention, that he cant do anything.
Aizen already got his own hogyoku, the one inside rukia is kisuke's hogyoku. Another hint is that when hitsugaya was entering central 46, instead of confronting hitsugaya and rangiku himself, gin instead send kira. I think he know aizen would question him if he would let rangiku and hitsugaya alive there, so instead he have kira confront rangiku away from central so she wouldn't be killed
I love this scene so much, what incredible psychological torture, giving someone hope and the will to live only to immediately rip it away from them, its so brilliantly written! XD

To sum it up: he witnessed when Rangiku had something stolen from her. They were childhood friends. He set out to get it back BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. Turned out he was also a genius swordsman with a dope zanpakto ability
Gin was always my favorite. I wish he had survived. He would have been the perfect opponent for Lille. His God Killing bankai would have fit so much better thematically, than Shunsui's god killing ass paddle that was actually his lieutenants but he just so happened to keep on him. Plus, just as an additional bit of flavor, Lille shoots bullets (ish) and Gins zanpaktou stabs like bullets.
I'm honestly surpised Aizen didn't decide to had simply left Tosen, Gin as spies back on soul society or had let momo join him in becoming another test subject or just as another devoted tool for him

Gin always stood out, he was such a weird character, and well we know who he really is later. Def an underrated character arc
Gin was always my favorite. I wish he had survived. He would have been the perfect opponent for Lille. His God Killing bankai would have fit so much better thematically, than Shunsui's god killing ass paddle that was actually his lieutenants but he just so happened to keep on him. Plus, just as an additional bit of flavor, Lille shoots bullets (ish) and Gins zanpaktou stabs like bullets.

I genuinely think he had Izuru, when confronted by Rangiku and Toshiro, warn Toshiro about Hinamori, to reveal that Aizen had faked his death. Very subtly trying to thwart Aizen
