MY FAVORITE
guys. guys. hear me out. i'm a 2000's kid and i don't know why but this whole album makes me remember my early teenage years, like 2013-2015. i guess it encapsulates something about not being part of what the 2000s were but somehow sounding like what rock could've been in those days, like it fills me with a certain nostalgia regarding the chords and the whole progression. idk. makes me feel like i'm somewhere between 2008-2013 again. it's strange and certainly is the first thing that made me feel such thing so intensely.
This whole album is a fucking rager every song stands out on their own God damn they are great!

This song is incredibly sad. From what I gathered, this song tells a full story. I think Pepper must be in some kind of relationship with the writer idk yet, and throughout the song, the ghost of Pepper is haunting him, appearing in his mirrors and around him. Friends could have tried to convince him that he's seeing things, and it's not real, and that he's seeing things from his grief, but appearing VERY real. That is why he's saying "Yeah they look fucking real to me." Made me cry listening, and understanding what's being portrayed once I really listened. A lot of songs in this album tells stories in cars. He uses them as a metaphor.
The song is related to his father who came into his life for something he had and expressed fake affection to get towards that goal, and once he left with what he wanted the singer was taken back by how he was tricked, but how real the love felt from his father.
