I don't get the avoidance of touristy. There's a reason why these places are full of people. And yes, if it's absolutely horrendously crowded I get it, but I've been in Venice & Florence in the middle of the season and it's not bad at all as long as you book your hotel at a little distance from the centre. Aren't most of us tourists unless we actually live there or travel for work?
I go into smh mode whenever Gabriel expresses disdain for tourists and places popular with them. After all, he's there filming and added one more tourist to the crowd.

I don’t even remember if I actually typed the comment or not but in the Cannes video you said you were done posting video of well known tourist destinations and my first though my was I wouldn’t mind seeing your take on Nice since it was one of my favorite cities in the French Riviera and look what we have here. Sweet. Yeah I wasn't planning to film there since I was only in Nice in the evening, but decided to film a little. I almost didn't even bring my camera, I was just on a quest for dinner.
Went to Nice and Paris 2 years ago. From my experience, Nice is much much better than Paris.

Some day people will interact with EACH OTHER more. Right now people pretty much just talk to their spouse, friends, the waitress etc. Other than carefully glancing out of the corners of their eyes, they're mostly walking right by each other... afraid to have any fun or strike up a conversation for the most part. The funnest part of this was the parade.
Yesterday I was in Asheville. As usual, the same tourists... eating, drinking, buying things, holding hands with their significant other but... checking out other attractive people and wondering what it would be like to have fun/sex with them as well. Oh well, they bought into the norm and it will never happen! They believed everything everyone told them even though they're bored out of their gourds. Back to the couch and the 9-5 on Monday morning.

Oh man, off to France in two weeks, had the choice of Normandy or the Riviera, chose the former, regretting it a bit now after seeing your videos but Im sure I will love it once I get there. There's always next year!

You are in one of the most beautiful part of Earth, stay for few weeks, look up history of Cote d'Azur, feel the place! Nice and Cannes is not like an airports, where all you need to do is rush through, dying to leave, but you treat them lie airports. The point of travelling is to relax, take the time to feel the place. I drive to this are every summer, 2-3 weeks each road trip, it is not enough to just bookmark this area as 'I have been there', this is not a tourist trap, this is real. The only place in Europe that compete with the beauty of Cote d'azur is Amalfi coast in Italy, Amalfi is too busy with people, especially August, so right now you are in as good a place as it gets in Europe! Stay for a while, rent a car, drive up and down coastal road SS1, stop where you like, dont rush off after just 1 day, because right now you haven't really seen the place at all
I was in the French Riviera for eight days and went exploring with my friend. But I wasn't filming much, so you didn't see what I did on video.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Gabriel, please don't take this the wrong way, but it seems you have zero interest in South of France. None. I think you just take the shuttle from airport, walk couple of streets, grab a tourist dinner at some sad tourist restaurant, and then you are off to airport. You never really meant to explore Nice, Cannes, Monaco. Because you are not interested in those places, these places are Skyscanner options, not real travel destinations. It's just that you are missing so much! You miss pretty much everything.
Lol. Did you read the comment I just wrote above? I spent eight days on the French Riviera having a great time with a friend. As I said I wasn't filming, so you didn't see where I went.

Those touristy restaurants are really expensive for the apetite. In Venice and outskirts of Venice , in Lido Di Jesolo, those prochutto pizza for 1 person is priced between 35 euros which is incredibly expensive, in Provence I think those pizza prices are similar and one customer can only get 2 wine glasses and pay 50 euros for one pizza and 2 drinks. I ate same size prochutto pizza like in Nice, Cannes pizza restaurants, in Italian neighborhood and paid only 17 USD for one large full of meat pizza.
I wish you can film more of the French rivereria
So glad you posted a video of Nice. I visited Nice in December 2017 and the beach was virtually deserted! Interestingly, the beach is not sand, but consists of small pebbles. If you are ever planning on visiting Uzbekistan, the Tashkent metro looks great from UA-cam videos I have seen!

Nice looks beautiful but surely there are other places that are not so touristy? there usually are in most cities,also it would be nice of you could stop the camera and close up on some of the places especially like food shops and bakeries,especially in places like Nice,I want to see the food !!!!

I've been to Paris last year and didn't particularly like it. But this was Nice.

Nice is one of my favourite cities in France, if not the whole world. Have been there a couple of times and would not mind to go back there again. It is easy to access to the sea and mountains from Nice, as well as other countries nearby.

How perfect (with less tourists) sitting at a street cafe listening to a jazz band as the sun goes down. In complete contrast; the music played by one of the parade groups reminded of me of some old time lyrics, "Aunty Mary had a canary up the leg of her draws". I wasn't first. Just plying again.
