This video brings back a happy memory. We did this drive but the other way, from Monaco to Nice Cote d azur . Beautiful! A very relaxed drive. We should’ve continue to Cannes which is maybe another 20 to 30 minutes drive. Wish I can go back. Been to Monaco 3 times but I will never get tired seeing that place.
I loved Nice, Monaco and almost every part of the Côte d'Azur, but Cannes was disappointing. Le Suquet (the medieval heart of the city, a bit inland) was fairly quaint, but the whole Croisette area along the beach was downright tacky, full of bling-bling and wannabes whoring for attention. I much preferred places like Saint-Paul de Vence, Antibes, down-to-earth Vallauris or the old parts of Cagnes-sur-Mer.
Oh what lovely memories....I have travelled this road so many times over 50 years ago when I worked as an au pair near Nice, South of France, with my friends Mary, Peggy and Jenny.
A friend and I used to rent a little studette on the Blvd Moulins in Monte Carlo. I really love Monaco, so small and charming and affluent. Merci beaucoup
I used to live in Cuneo Italy and was on this coast often on my bike at every opportunity. I hope to be able to buy a house there before I die. It's one of the most beautiful places on earth; just the vegetation and the colour of the sea is enough to make you want to live FOREVER. Other parts of the French coast after Nice aren't so beautiful and there you have the terrible MISTRAL and high summer temperatures at critical points. And think of it, just behind these mountains there's high snow in the winter. It was glorious to go skiing at Auron in January and come home to an apartment in Nice to dinner outside in sub-tropical weather. It's really paradise, you feel protected by the mountains and connected to the extreme beauty of nature. Prices are very high though; no one who's selling is a fool. Cap Jean Ferrat has the highest real estate prices in the entire world. Beaulieu sur Mer, Eze sur Mer, San Laurent, Cap d'Ail would all be fine however. Here's hoping
It was a beautiful clear day for a ride; your camera gave us a wonderful view of the city. Good thing I was not a passenger, I would have driven you nuts… “Pull over, PLEASE I have to take a picture of the water from here, oh.... slow down I want to get the right angle before going under that huge rock.” :)) I Love it, John Basara, thanks for uploading…
Indeed, just about everywhere you look would make for a nice photo. I have a full frame Nikon too so I had to be VERY disciplined to wait to get in the still photos later on :)

PRINCESS GRACE WAS MURDERED BY BRAKE TAMPERING BY THE MAFIA ON THE VERY STEEP ROAD COMING DOWN FROM THE HIGH VILLAGE BEHIND MONACO WHERE THE ROYAL FAMILY HAS A COUNTRY HOUSE, NEAR BEAULIEU / EZE VILLAGE.
The beauty of the sky clustered with clouds in its blue adds to the road avenues adorned with pedestal trees.
