Our mothers got men who would build shit and never complain once about putting in physical work. Those men wanted to be family men and provide and did it without whining.
We have men who sit in most day, or just “hang”, don’t know how to build shit, barely do chores expect women to do it and still complain about work whilst women go for work and do housework too. Most don’t want to settle down or be a family man.
Women in America downgraded in recent years maybe. But the men have literally been doing what women are doing now, for a long time. To an outsider, y’all are the same. Just that the men think they’re morally superior, they’re not. There’s a reason very few foreign women consider American men.

@@Mc1997D No, it is ADHD specifically. ADHD is about impulsivity and lack of executive function. People with ADHD who aren’t stimulated by cooking will put cooking to the side and just pick out ingredients, dinners that don’t require following steps. Bipolar has no real analog here. Schizophrenia has no real analog here. It’s specifically ADHD. Now if the ADHD person was stimulated by cooking, that would be something different. For ADHD, if something is stimulating, it is strongly sought out. If it isn’t, it is strongly rejected.

@@thedadvocate I'd have to teach my ol lady how to cook then because that's unacceptable. I'm a big boy and I work in a really physically demanding job so I need calories. If I lifted refrigerators, desks, chairs, sofas, entertainment centers all day and came home to that, we'd definitely be having a talk. We'd start simply at first. I'm not expecting a 6 course dinner, but hot dogs, mac and cheese and fries sounds awesome. Then when she's mastered the basics of things that boil in water or sit on a baking sheet, we'll move on to moderate techniques such as basic food prep; e.g. stews, lasagna, tacos. Things that aren't hardcore cooking, but are filling. I'd be happy with that, but if she wants advanced cooking lessons, then I can teach her how to bake cinnamon rolls and make chocolate or chicken fettuccini alfredo from scratch. P.S. Alfredo sauce is a pain in the A.S.S. to make from scratch

@@aaronburdon221dude, girl dinner is a thing for the girl usually. I go all out cooking for my bf, sometimes i cook something specifically for him since we have different habits and tastes. After spending 8+ hours working on code, doing minor chored and maybe going to the gym i usually have absolutely no desire to turn up the stove and cook.
So if im home alone for the evening than girl dinner it is, because there's nothing better than a glass of cold kefir and some rye bread when no one's judging
Also, you're not entitled to have a steaming hot meal all the time. If ya girl works too, its simply unfair.
Especially if you want shit like cinnamon rolls and whatnot. Those things take hours to make and you're basically stuck at home the whole time.

This is also a formidable answer. From my studies of my species, it seems most women resort to girl dinner due to cooking fatigue or burnout. So if you offer to cook that night instead she will likely let you!

You’d be mind blown to find out many women cook for family, but sometimes when the man is out (late, away, or with friends) they eat like this when they’re alone at home. Just because someone is lazy by themself doesn’t mean they can’t cook.

"Finger food supper" has been a thing in my life for 30+ years. My step mother always did it for New Year's Eve and I started it in my family early on, but we do it twice a month at least.... just a bunch of chicken tenders, onion rings, fried mushrooms, etc etc. Anything you can toss in the fry daddy or oven. Plenty of dipping sauces. It is horribly unhealthy but damn it hits the spot!

As kids, pre-microwave, we used to call this “scratch tea” it basically meant get your own dinner because Mum couldn’t be bothered to cook. We lived in a small town, so there were no burger or pizza joints and no home delivery either and we didn’t get all the fancy pre-made meals or processed snacks in the supermarket either.
