Stand it up vertically- make it a multiple level planter/whimsical gnome house/mail box for the front of your house. With house number plaque similar to the one you made F Bob & make it removable so if you wish to sell someone they could put their house address. Also could make it have your swirl art & wood spirits mixed in. Would also be cool to have it light up.
I really like the octopus idea, the way you use negative space would make it absolutely wicked. Definitely would be a challenge but the pay off would be stunning. Personally I hope you give it a go. ✌️🎨🎨🎨😁
Jordy, did you build your work table that sucks down the dust? I see a couple other UA-cam carvers have something similar but I haven’t found a video on how it’s made or where to buy? Thank you for the time you devote to sharing your how-to carving videos
I'm sure you know this but it's a very soft wood, and the drastic difference in layers can make small details difficult. kind of like Doug fir. i bet you'll make so. thing great, looking forward to the result in the future! @@CarvingFusion
Can't fully say bc about 4:23 when describing eagle i saw the knot as an eye, the wing as an ear and the above roll line as a trunk for an elephant when you lift it vertical, but if its not in demand on market hard to go with it and have it sit. Anything you do will be amazing thanks Jordy its the basic things you show in videos like removing bark that beginners like to see. You likely discussed this before but do knots become problems do they fall out or get removed or just flushed..what I mean is as a total not know would shaping any knot to an eye be a bad move? I know people will laugh at me😂 but heh how else do you learn wisdom?
No question is stupid, it maybe a bad idea to shape the eye around a knot because the knot has a good chance of cracking as time goes by :) Thanks for the kind words

I like the octopus idea.
That's a chunk and a half. The octopus will be interesting, I'd love to see that.
Octopus, or what ever is ok with me. Jordy you do AWESOME carvings😊
A wizard maybe or viking with shield ? What ever you do it will be awesome. Carry on 🙋
I have no clue, but I'm sure you will make something awesome. Thanks Jordy.
a smaller house/planter with some spirits blended all around it!! Would be awesome!!! thanks for the video Stay safe!
Clint Eastwood 😂 cause that’s a badass hunk of wood! You do what you want! A octopus would be badass as well! Good stuff!
Hi, squids have a less bulbous head and you can see a sleek flow in the side of the log for it. Just my opinion though.
Maybe a city or landscape in the log. I think that would be pretty cool, if not definitely octopus
Eagles head and wing would look awesome that size but like you say if you feel like challenging yaself give the octopus a go bro 👊
Eagle holding a northern pike
That is a nice log
Everything you do is perfectly fine with me
Ty
I think it wants to be a dragon 🐉 hi Jordy
Make the world's largest, jelly roll, or fishing sinker
Lol
I would really like to see the log vertically please!

Hi there yes I did and most people that have that got the idea from me, you can see videos on my table in my playlists
Talking about octopus,a davy jones woodspirt would fit in this big sucker.
Wood spirit on one side and a Owl on the other side .. Yep.. SWee Ya
At 4:09 of the video, the bottom half looks like a bird with the eye and beak on the right hand side
that's so cool! could make something big. what kind of wood is it?
Western red cedar

I see some wicked wood spirits in there, but an eagle would be sick!
I agree
Owl planter!
The Pieta by Michelangelo
I’m thinking a shark 😎
Giant warrior gnome with giant sword in the middle with his hands holding it
A kraken would be cool .
Maybe carve a couple of Racoons that would look good
What Haynes said!😅
I make a giant Eagle head

A basset hound.
Octopus
An indegenous bear.
All bears are indigenous to their environment, aren't they? Otherwise, they would be nomadic.
