For all his flamboyance and humor, Boy George is one of the most honest celebrities I've ever seen. You never get the sense he's lying to make himself look better. He's honest and I love him.
You can watch all his interviews now and back then he always speaks so honestly and intelligently but maybe that's even more reason, as is often the case with intelligent people, they get bored to easily and understand the worst parts of life too well so they turn to drugs and other crazy things.
How incredibly hard and honest it must be for George to able to sit here and be honest in this interview , I’ve always admired him since I was 14 and now this just reaffirms it .
If you've never been an addict (of anything) you might find it hard to understand when George says as an addict he had no control and didn't understand what was going on. Addiction controls your mind, your morals, your ethics, your humanity... you are not yourself, you're an altered version of yourself. You only really understand this once you emerge from the addiction
It really is this way. You are possessed by something very dark that dominates your will. It takes everything you have and borrowed from others to break free from it. Sadly, many do not.
W 1:01 minucie tego wywiadu był bardzo smutny moment, gdy Boy George zaczął płakać. To był jasny znak, że jego wspomnienia były bardzo emocjonalne i poruszające.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
A lot of times...." sad moments " are necessary! For people to express sad moments, I mean. That is when you can truly realize what that person has suffered and gone through. The extent of it. I truly do admire George!

we all have inner demons You fought your claim, and the strength from that.😊😊😊😊😊😊 I was never a fan until my mate played only Culture Club, and I preferred Duran.
We all hurt and go through things. I understand what he went through when it comes to addiction. Working a program is very important but we still have to realize it’s a race that never ends. We keep it green forever. And most important we have to help others.
I always felt he had an incredible voice, while not liking the type of music his band did. (Preferred Paul Young in those days). Boy George has always been an incredibly interview subject. He is always very brave, upfront, compared to others in the business.
I always want the best for George...He is such a charismatic, honest, talented, interesting person. He was part of my childhood growing up in the 80s and he always has had that great sense of humour. I can remember my mum saying, when he first came on the scene on Top of the Pops, that she thought he was 'nice looking' lol and was actually a fan. I love the fact that he is more bothered about his family being hurt rather than himself. Has he made bad choice and mistakes in life? Of course, but he owns it and is sorry......I love ya George in spite of everything x
No one is asking you to like him… George doesn’t need to apologise to anyone.. he had an argument with someone who he considered had stolen of him, was George in the right state of mind.? No, but the amount of lies and BS that has been spewed by that person is just ridiculous.. when in reality the evidence is public, anyone can read the court documents.... George has served his time, paid his debt to society and should be allowed to move on like anyone else…
Whether George apologises to that man or not, is between George and that man. It's not our place to get angry or upset on behalf on George or the other person. It's truly none of our business. It's how a person redeems themselves, that matters most to me. And I believe George has paid his dues and he's entitled to move on and be happy within himself.
I enjoyed the interview with Boy George, however, please tell him that those ovesized bowler hats need to go - they are not fashionable and make his head look distorted.
@@mebeme007 No one stated that he COULDN'T wear whatever he liked - apparently you have a reading comprehension problem. Secondly, like George his taste is in large bowler hats - mine is not and I'm entitled to my opinion here. Learn to understand what is WRITTEN versus what YOU interpret and then come back to me if you still think you have a point to make
@@juicyfruit4378 Oh calm down. There's nothing to misinterpret at all, dear. Juicy clearly said someone needs to tell George his hats need to go. Because Juicy (the nobody on YT), is apparently such a fashion icon and expert on what is supposedly fashionable and what isn't. And feels so righteous in telling George what he shouldn't be wearing anymore. Juicy is just getting all upset because someone politely tells it to mind its own business about what George chooses to wear. And Juicy lost it 🤣 George is entitled to wear what he wants. And who the frig is Juicy to even matter to Boy George.
George, did you really say sorry just then? Would it have hurt to say it again? To acknowledge the damage that you did? Not that I know anything about what you actually did...
Was it damage to yourself? Why are you so invested in making him apologise or making him repeat an apology? The fact that this man is still in the public eye, successful, respected and thriving is a testament to his strength of character and the person that he is. He doesn’t need to be told to apologise by anyone… Let alone you! His life was in complete ruins and he rebuilt it. That is to be respected and admired. You need to back off.
@kiwibelt What would of YOU have done, if Boy George attacked you, wouldn't you EXPECT an apology? Audren has a family too. Or do u stick up for BG because you're a fan? What he did is still a criminal offence.
@@felicitydeikos5250 not a particularly huge fan, no. I bought one culture club album Back in the Day. Don’t really follow his career these days but certainly admire him getting back out there and rebuilding his life and career the way he wants it to be. He did something wrong, he has acknowledged it and served his time. I just don’t think it’s for other people to be dictating who and when and why someone should apologise for something.
Brutal honesty from a man who accepted his wrong doings, well done George. So glad you’re still here, what a lovely man.
So relieved that you took action!❤

This is what class and integrity looks like!
minus the ridiculous oversized bowler hat that he and Pharell try to make a mainstay in the fashion circles - it failed.
Thank Heaven for good Mothers.
I'm so glad George is healthy again!
I loved Boy George and George Michael since childhood! Thank you for bringing amazing music, culture, and vibes 🌈👩
I'm glad Boy George had the strength to heal himself and walk away from addiction.

Impressive.
Not every day a celebrity simply says, "I did it, deserved to be punished, but I am better for it."
Props George
Yes thank God he's here still amen❤❤❤😢😢
awoman
Im so glad hes still here with us❤
I pray this man finds true healing. I love his transparency and the grace with which he accepts others faults and sins. ♥
I’m so happy he is ok now! He is a incredible musical performer and singer! He was given a great gift from God. I love him he is blessed!❤
we lost Prince.... Michael Jackson.... at least Boy George is still among us - what a beautiful personality
And George Michael.
It’s mind blowing to me what the human body can take and survive through and wow BG looks amazing especially what he’s put his body thru and age
Aww he’s just wonderful ❤
I have been where George has been. Thank God we are still here. Love him❤
Well done to you .
George is such a beautiful human!!!!!
Great interview and all credit to George for his candour and Piers for being a great and sympathetic host and interviewer - both deserved legends ❤
Boy George is an amazing dude.
George's mom was a saint. I read his memoirs.
Addiction is no joke. He was convicted, went to prison. His talent endures.

He is a strong man…dignity
As if things couldn’t get any worse Stephen Fry kept writing to him 😂
Why?
He hasn’t endured anything special that everyday people don’t endure
I have never been punched by one of my parents
True but having a celebrity share their testimony helps people like me know that I can be sober too.
As if he is a person like us! Lol
But unlike us he can reach so many people and hopefully inspire others as fame should be about.
The op's name says it all.
Bitter to the end, I'll bet.
Good luck with that.

What did Boy George went to Prison for? not allowing someone to leave his house?
