Cavetown is one of my favorite artists. And I don't know if it's just me, but I've always thought the line "little do we know the starts welcome him with open arms" was sad (and relatable tbh). I interpreted it as "no one knows he thinks of suicide". I've often looked to the stars while at my lowest, thinking of how inviting they are and how I wish I could die and become a part of them again. Most of the lyrics in the song point to the feeling of not fitting in and feeling like everyone would be better off if you were gone. If you react to him again, I suggest "Meteor Shower", "Green", and "Devil Town". "Cereal" and "10 Feet Tall" are also good ones.

I saw the title and, as someone who LOVES cavetown, clicked on it to see why. Not what I expected, but still love how the dinger in cavetown talks of his experiences I'm pretty sure. Also, 'turn off your porcelain face' I think means to jot hide your emotions since porcelain faces seem to always have the same expression.

i don't know what i expected when i started watching mathew's videos, but i really really love it. the way he's open to so many kinds of music and the way he breaks it down is amazing. and it made me so happy the way he talked in the girl in red video and all of the melanie ones. i'm lesbian and generally scared of men, but i would trust this guy with my drink and ive never even met him. he gives me hope for people. so thank you for just being a genuinely good person who makes good content and understands and breaks down good music really well.

Cavetown is one of my favorite artists. And I don't know if it's just me, but I've always thought the line "little do we know the starts welcome him with open arms" was sad (and relatable tbh). I interpreted it as "no one knows he thinks of suicide". I've often looked to the stars while at my lowest, thinking of how inviting they are and how I wish I could die and become a part of them again. Most of the lyrics in the song point to the feeling of not fitting in and feeling like everyone would be better off if you were gone.
If you react to him again, I suggest "Meteor Shower", "Green", and "Devil Town". "Cereal" and "10 Feet Tall" are also good ones.
