Little trick taught me by a guy a OReilly. Get a 6" long length of rubber fuel hose. Electrode end of the spark plug fits in it real nice and allows you to seat the spark plug with this infinitely flexible "wrench". If it cross threads, the plug will just spin in the hose before any damage is done. Once you're convinced it is seated properly, finish off with legit tool.
Wow, so good to see a Subaru Tech do this job! I have an Ascent and an Outback to do coming up (both at 113,000 miles). Well, I will start gathering my much needed tools!
What does the factory pay for flat rate time and what do you guys get on your customer pay services for replacing the plugs, because thats a tight pain in the ass. Why didn't they use Iridium plugs and go 100k geez..we jave a 2019 now and we're close to 60k the cost for that and diff oil changes is $1200. Wife called the dealer, im a retired master tech who is still doing most his own service work.Im too old for this , seriously you guys have more shit to take off or move , than we ever did. Cudos to you for filming that. Show your customers .And tell them you make less than 30% of the labor charges..im guessing..😊😉👍
I wore my watch everyday, a gshock it was fine unless I got in too tight a space. I wore a wedding for 1 month , got caught between an engine and bell housing install back in a Pontiac bent the hell out of ring and dug into my finger. Ring wen on my key chain after that and never...never wore one again.35 yrs with 3rd wife and I still don't wear one.. Seen to many get burned into fingers from a battery hot wire..ahhh...the smell of flesh burning in the morning ..😮😂
@@Divotz2 40 years ago I was working in a very tight space where I rubbed my left hand where a watch normally goes, against some metal part. To this day there is something there that feels like a small round pebble. Probably a bone fragment or calcium buildup. It doesn't hurt and it stayed the same size. One of my friends who drives a truck for living one day tried to jump down and slam close the door at the same time. His ring finger got caught between the door and the frame. His weight pulled the finger clean off off.

@@subietech90 well thats fucked up...... thank you for answering
gary
Have you seen any "not normal" oil burning issues from the 2020+ yet?
Not yet
Looks like a pain in the ass!
Is very easy
Is this the same for 2020 Subaru Outback 2.5 NA engine? Did you loose the engine mounts and lift the engine a bit?
Thanks
Same engine and no. Just for Outback 3.6, BRZ and Ascent have to loose engine mount bolts.
Thanks for your response.
Do you disconnect the spark plug coil and remove the coil? Or just leave the coil connected and move it to the side?
Thanks
@@RRJay718 leave the coil plugged.
@@subietech90
Thanks.
Even for the hardest one? The one near driver?
Thanks
@@RRJay718 even that one, leave it plugged, just move it to the back.
Lose the watch. You're a mechanic.
