James, as per the comment below, you have a special talent for being able to honestly discuss the issues with a vessel, without discouraging someone from wanting to own the yacht you are presenting. If I was in the market, and I will be eventually, I would not hesitate to buy a boat from you.
James your reviews are the best on You Tube. I love the detail bring to light that is so important, yet skipped by most all other reviewers. If I ever buy a Nordhavn you will be my first call.
If I ever found myself with enough money to own and maintain a Nordhavn, I would go to nobody but you for my purchase. You are the most educated person when it comes to these beautiful works of art. Your videos are the most in-depth and educational of any videos out there. You always take the time to show the pros and cons of each boat. Your workmanship of the headliners you have replaced and the other things you have done to a lot of these boats, shows the quality you expect is like no other! Thank you for the hard work you do to bring us these videos, if not for you many of us would never see these boats, let alone get such a great detailed tour of the interior and how the systems all operate!
NO ONE shows a Nordhavn like James! I truly love the way you do things James. The good, the bad, the fuzzy and the great, thank you! Be happy, be safe.
I love your honesty James! Like the hatch hitting the door in the cockpit... I appreciate how you will be walking through a yacht and point something out and say "They weren't using their head when they built that!" Even the people that purchase boats from you will appreciate your honesty because salesmen don't have a reputation for being honest! You're the only person I would ever buy a yacht from.... And I will have one some day! ;)
James, thanks for this! I’m taking delivery of a new 68FPH in a few weeks and so much of your commentary was relevant and reassuring. I look forward to meeting someday!
James, I thought all yacht videos were the same. Yours are so complete and wildly entertaining. After watching I often think to myself “Why the hell would you buy another trawler?” By the time I start my search, You’ll have taught me what to look for in each and every system. Thanks!
It's great to finally get an actual objective review of these yachts. Most are simply sales pitches that tell us how great everything is, with little explanation of how good or poor things function in actual conditions. Prop's to you James for a thoughtful and insightful review.
Why…why have I watched everyone of your walk-through Nordhavn videos knowing damn well that I’ll never be able to afford such a vessel? Because the knowledge, passion, and commitment that you’ve exhibited, not only to the owners of these boats but to your family and employees of your company is refreshing. Hats off to you and if you ever float out into the desert there’s a beer (or cocktail of your choice) waiting for you, cheers!
Completely unrelated to Nordhavn yachts or boats for that matter - you are very good at explaining things in an articulate way and a natural in front of the camera. Enjoy watching your videos sir!
I have to say, that was one of the most informative walk-throughs I've seen yet. I'm a future Nordhavn owner at some point and the description/applications of all the systems you went over were enlightening to say the least. But, it also follows across any other brand someone might be interested in. Very useful for anyone looking at purchasing a boat. That being said, I couldn't be more sold on the Nordhavn brand thanks to your matter-of-fact, no bs approach to educating someone in the market for one. Every boat has pluses/minuses but its so helpful to know them up front rather than sugarcoating to make the sale. Great job, subscribed!
I almost never comment, love these boats…..but this technical tour is exactly what this old engineer loves. Great job, spot on. Give me a couple years and we will be in Florida looking for something in this range.
I will never come close to a Nordhavn or even a motorboat. But this walkthrough I’ve seen now for the 5-6th time. Its like ballet you have no interest in on paper but that you can not stop watching. Best work in biz
Love this video, I personally liked the music and didn’t think it was too loud in the intro and understand the effect Matthew was going for . Keep them coming please and you are a great father and son team 😊
One thing that seems to get missed on everyone’s Nordhavn walkthroughs is practical storage of bulky items. Pantries and cupboards are always mentioned but: after seeing Mermaid Monster clear the decks in preparation for a Hurricane, I’m not so impressed with the storage space. They filled the Captain’s cabin to the overhead with seat/deck pads and other items, making it otherwise unusable. It would be great if you could address this in one of your videos. Thanks a lot for the great videos!
I own a Krogen 39 I only carry what I can stow, It’s too easy to “clutter” a boat up I tell guest before they come if you want something soft to sit on bring your own cause my butt pad is only for me
Good Morning James, This has been one of the very best in depth, detailed boat videos that I've ever had the pleasure of watching. Excellently done. I appreciate your honesty and clear integrity. We're predominantly a private charter family. We don't have the time nor applied knowledge to own one, though after watching you and subscribing to your awesome channel, anything is quite possible. Loved the video ! Warmest Regards from Arizona
Thank you for spending the time to create these videos for those who have interest in these boats but cannot afford to buy them, and to inform potential buyers
It may take a lottery win to buy a Nordhavn, so there is doubt that I'll own one. But there is no doubt who I would have service it. That would be Yacht Tech. Fantastic videos. It is nice to listen to someone that knows their stuff and communicates it clearly and without any boasting or bravado. Big thanks to Mathew for following you around and doing the edits. Very good work.
Brother; as a retired since '04' high speed production equipment electro mechanical tech, I learn more watching these vids of James going through a nautical set-up than I would spending a month reading the nomenclature. Guru Status!
yayyyy...... youre back. awesome video again. i learn more about a boat watching 1 of your videos compared to a dozen of other videos. also the 64 is a nicer boat than i was expecting it to be. looking forward to the 55. thank you james.
Watching your videos I’m on the threshold of wanting a rowboat, which I could expertly maintain and operate, and a Nordhavn. But the more I watch your presentations, my confidence in learning to operate a trawler grows. I would love this little ship if it topped at 14 knots like the newer larger Nordhavn models. Thanks for the great walkthrough videos.
Best Nordhavn review I’ve seen! Thank you! The tips you mentioned are so well thought out, like the A/C water lines! We want to get a 76 when I finally retire!
Thanks for yet another fabulous in depth review of a Nordhavn. The only thing I would like to see you do is take these boats out and show them in their element. Thanks again and I will give you a call when I am looking to buy.
GREAT TOUR. I love that you jump on the bed, and get into the areas. It gives PERSPECTIVE on the size of objects and spaces that we CANNOT get from the more casual tours.! GREAT JOB.
Thank you for what would have to be one of the most comprehensive boat tours I have taken the time to watch very informative and knowledgable thanks Guys you deserve a wee jimandtomic. Cheers.
Your in depth Knowledge of Nord Havn's is simply amazing. Transporting boats most of my life i thought i was fairly well versed. You have just showed me how little i really know.I really like the way you discuss the pro and cons of each model. When the time come for me to pull the trigger and buy the boat of my dreams you will certainly be my first call.Informative is a understatement!!!!!!
Thank you for taking the time to make another stunning, in depth videos. I have worked with LIon systems in data centers. Some used a gyro to stabilise current and hold for brief outages from switching to alternate power. Not stab gyro weights required. Supercap is an exciting and potentially dangerous thing. The short protection is normally strong and redundant so it dosent make big bad boom. These were tested as warheads and found to be something not quite ready with weight to blast ratio.
These videos are simply outstanding, thank you for your honesty, pointing out what is good and what isn’t, whether intentional or not it’s the best way to act in sales. I know it’s the competition but any thoughts on Bering and how their boats compare? Pros and cons?
James, love your in depth videos and the breadth of your knowledge and openness of what does and does not work. On behalf of my wife and myself, we would like to put 2 votes in for a review of a N68 aft pilot house. This is our dream boat and we would love to hear your comments and cautions for this vessel. Thanks so much for all that you do. Cheers

I must be a lucky one to have piloted one of these from Guernsey to Malta via Gibraltar some years ago. 4 hour watch, 4 hours off-watch for 2x6 days. Yes, the crew head at the back was the only one we could use for several days as we would have smashed our heads in the guest head due to 10 food head seas crossing Bay of Biscay and part of the Mediterranean. Being an astronaut: yes, 30 % of the off-watch time I was weightless in the twin guest cabin, but actually sleeping most of the time (after a while, anyway). Thank you for the videos, these are very nice and informative! I'm looking myself into a N41 as an entry level, all these videos help getting into the Nordhavn concept. One question that I do have though is why are there so many owners on these larger boats, generally speaking, is it due to the high maintenance costs that make them walk off or other reasons?

Great to see you reviewing a boat again! What's your opinion on the venerable N46. Her low profile? What do you consider the smallest size for a 2 man/woman crewed boat for extended stays still giving enough privacy to both guests and crew? 76?
I must be a lucky one to have piloted one of these from Guernsey to Malta via Gibraltar some years ago. 4 hour watch, 4 hours off-watch for 2x6 days. One question that I do have though is why are there so many owners on these larger boats, generally speaking, is it due to the high maintenance costs that make them walk off or other reasons?
Like the reviews, hate the long wait. Thanks for another one. The music at the beginning is a bit loud for the teasers
