Thanks so much for making this. You released it at the perfect timing for me too. I'm up late here in Australia working out whether to go with the Monitor Station. I think this is the only video I can see directly comparing these two, so it's much appreciated!
For me I'm happy to go with Presonus after seeing this, and because there's one second hand at a good price. But I have the Audient ID14 for the interface and it's awesome. Glad you're enjoying the new toy. All the best and thanks again :)

Got the Presonus Monitor Station v2 when I was comparing it with the Mackie Big knob. Would still go for it when comparing it with the Audient Nero as I am not using subs. Great review and comparison.
Thanks, Czar. I have both and yes, I felt like I was breaking up with the PreSonus family too. I had the monitor station V2 first, but I felt I needed something different, plus I had some issues with the volume knot on the V2 that was unbalanced at very low volume.
This video really helped me! Thanks! I think I’ll go with the Presonus, considering it sounds similar, has a cue output, and is cheaper
I am a Nero guy and I will tell you, I was having issues and thought I had to send it back!!!! it was all user error! great and like you, satisfied!! I also found it funny, bottom to top! be well!
I either misunderstood you or I have some new information, either way, information only stands to help if its shared, no malicious intended if already understood though. For the sub on Presonus, you have the option for an A/B selection with C as an independant option meaning, you dont have to sum A/B in order to use C as a sub. You hold speaker C as you start up and A/B become switchable, and C can be on or off as desired i.e. your sub.
Totally agree you have to read the manual bro. Presonus have a way to set up everything as you want it

The reason the audient has bottom up is ease of access to the most used controls. Ie headphone 1, inputs 1 & 2 are closer to you.

I'm new to this, and figuring all of this out... But i'm guessing the inverted numbering (bottom to top) is a matter of efficiency for accessibility.... the shorter one must reach, the faster they can get back to work, and it also requires less looking across & reading the entire board or going over other knobs and buttons, potentially introducing unnecessary human errors, by simply having it near the base of the box.
I'm merely speculating, so I could certainly be DEAD WRONG...
Hey great video! Can the Nero have sources 1 & 2 ...& or Aux input.... on at the same time? Trying to replace my 16 channel mixer with this. I need 2 ST outs from my Apollo to play at once. Thanks~!
I don't think so, I'd ask Audient to be sure. I know the presonus can though
Hello, I have the presonus h4 headphone amp and audio box 1818 interface... sub, and 2 pair of speakers... im trying to have them all connected and I would like to get a monitor controller that I can use to switch between the monitor pair so I can work on my mix. I brought the "big knob passive" which it seems that I can find away to connect so it can work with my setup... can you please guide me to options that will work with my setup...

I don't hear a sound difference between but I sold the PreSonus. The Nero does more for me

I would contact Audient about that. I just tried it and TalkBack doesn't go to HP1 for me. I assume the logic is that you will be using HP1 and the recording engineer, therefore you don't need to hear yourself in the talk back
how does one setup the sub as their is only a mono output on the nero but most subs have left and right in and left and right out thanks
just connect it to the left channel on the sub

Are you able to play/select all the speaker outputs on the Nero at the same time? I have 2 sets of monitors and can’t get both to play simultaneously
On the audient I don't think so, but on the PreSonus I think you can

It makes a big difference if you're connecting multiple monitors and other sources
You mean you can hear the difference between spidf and quarter inch? Sounds hard to believe
If there is a significant difference in the quality of the digital to analog converters between the device with the quarter inch and the device with the spit of then yes you can hear the difference.

between spdif and your 2626 which one sounds better?
@@manitsony6703 That depends on what you're connecting to it. And if your referring to D/A or A/D. But I've never connected anything by spidf to my 2626

You still think audient nero best monitor controller? I was gonna buy presonus monitor station but it had to many bad reviews.
Both worked fine for me. The audient is definitely "smarter" with the features it has.

@@musicislife704 I was looking at the heritage audio ones. Also wondering if the dangerous monitor st is worth the $2500 or whatever it costs lol. The heritage would take up too much space for me
I mean presonus central station realize i typed it wrong but the presonus central station have alot bad reviews.
