Wardawg is the real deal. I had the pleasure of working with him in a previous kitchen. Never met anyone who took more pride in his food. He’s a mad man in the kitchen. Love you Wardawg.
Here in the UK, our bbq consists of burnt sausages and over done burgers in the garden. We just get drunk and forget what were eating. This stuff in America is different level. Amazing xxx
Hendrix Anderson No doubt. The guy at our restaurant has been there over twenty years, cannot speak English fluently but taught me more about the mechanics of cooking than any Michelin starred chef there is.
Warren G & the Regulator. A Classic right there. Shoutout to War Dog, he is very much a essential part of the whole process. Another shoutout to the people here that know about the Regulator that Wareen G put out in the 90’s.
I’ve eaten here and it was solid. I have it in my top 5 for Austin and I was slightly disappointed the first time only due to it being so new so I’m guessing they were figuring things out. However, I have seen in this video that they changed a bunch and even added stuff. They’re not kidding about the sides or desserts here at all. The sides here are very good.
Man this is the dream. I work in a Midwestern French inspired fine dining farm to table restaurant and have been smoking/BBQing since I was a teen. The way this restaurant cooks and plates is an inspiration.
John I'm impressed with your humbling acknowledgement that even with experience in "high end" kitchens you're new to BBQ and don't know everything. Yes based on how you prepare your food I want to come and try it!
Definitely gonna re-create those pastrami ribs! I bet that'd be good for short ribs for the home chef. I really dig the passion they put into their cooking too!
Love what you're doing definitely going to have to try you all out when I'm in Austin. I was a executive chef white tablecloth most of my life and what you're doing sounds excellent
can confirm the scallop potatoes are amazing. the smokiness is something you never think about wanting in cheesy potatoes but its perfection. Blessed this place is 15 minutes away :)
8:24 .. "The Enforcer" I use is an idling leaf blower since MORE air/ oxygen flares the fire equally without burning more propane kinda like a strong gust of wind
I believe that wardog should try his hand at Poetry, would be a Best Seller I think, great Video, Beautiful Food. If you guys ever decide to do a revisit of all of your Smoke Point places, you would have a big following. Many thanks.
Outside the box is the place to be. I've been smoking ancho rubbed tri tip and making enchiladas out of it. Smoke it. Braise it. Use the resulting broth as a base for the chili gravy. My house has been quite popular.
Yall are the bbq place next to the Korean bbq restaurant!!!! I was eating there the other day and noticed the bbq joint next door I regret my meal decision 😫

Wardog is that friend we all need in our lives.
Thanks everyone. It is a trip working there.. try to entertain myself and love to play and experiment in the kitchen
They need turkey and deer meat 😃
Warren McDonald what are you wearing on your head?
@@warrenmcdonald1292 on first impression, I thought you are Warren Buffett
Warren McDonald, you should post videos about your daily life at work, I'll totally watch it.
If you told me that Wardog was actually an undercover CEO of a major successful corporation I'd believe it.
I totally got undercover boss vibes from him too lol
Undercover bbq bosses
Wardog : "Hello gentlemen, how's your evening going?"
Brisket : "Pretty average, how was your's?"
*...*
Wardog : "Alright, Imma go home now."
When you work so long you start hulucnating lol
Employees like wardog are worth their weight in gold.

Can your Austin Powers teeth HANDLE these meats? ;^)
@@gschady why do you think our teeth are like that....from all the chewing and tearing we have to do on our shitty BBQ..
Most owners would kill for an employee like wardog in their kitchen. Lol
Rodrigo Iraheta I think every really good kitchen has that guy there.

Hendrix Anderson No doubt. The guy at our restaurant has been there over twenty years, cannot speak English fluently but taught me more about the mechanics of cooking than any Michelin starred chef there is.
A love for cooking and respect for the animals is rare.
Proconsul Scipio that’s a pretty high bar buddy

The BBQ in NYC is god awful. I am jealous.
@@Alex-ye1br have you tried Hometown BBQ? Probably the best the city has to offer
@@anto_91 Yep, live quite close to Red hook. Otherwise, It's Blue Smoke or Fette Sau.
What places are on that list of yours?
They've ironed things out, but still remain consistently good. My favorite ribs in the city hands down.

Pastrami beef ribs? I definitely need to try those.
Those beef ribs are off the chain. We never see them here in Mississippi restaurants, grocery stores. I'm going to find some online. Great vid.
