To be fair. Edge said in an interview his goal was to run an angle with Christian because they started together, he wants it to end it together.
He'll definitely get his chance if Edge and Christian be doing Tag matches against the likes of The Super Luchio Bros and some of these other Botchamania main eventers
@TheGOAT-hj6sl What a stupid association. Why would he lie about something like this? There's literally nothing in that for him unlike the way Hogan lies. You make absolutely no sense, what a massive force.
Guaranteed the Young Bucks win a TLC vs Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz
At the media scrum he was all excitedly talking about how he wants to help and give advice to the young guys. The poor bastard doesn't realize how AEW works.
He’s like Serpico thinking he’s going to stop police corruption.
100%
Yeah. It'll be somethin seeing Edge trying to give advice to Hangma'am Page or Jungle Jackoff.
Bunch of salty wwe Marks right here lol
Hangma'am sounds like a Cornett term
Nick Wayne turning heel and then immediately getting killed by Edge made him look like a complete dork.
Lol nick Wayne is a complete dork
He IS a complete dork 😂
@@pleaseshutup7053True lol but any heat he had after the turn is completely dead in the water.
@@reallydude111 as soon as I found out his father is friends with Tony or the young bucks something like that. Immediately stopped watching everything Nick Wayne he’s a nepotism hire which is fine on it’s own but they book this bum in main events
He got beat up by Luchasaurus just a few hours before
I just hope he doesn’t get hurt. You’ve got Edge, Christian and the Harrys in the same company for the first time in years. Tony has collected 4 of his favorite action figures and I’m dreading some kind of TLC match that will result I one of them having a catastrophic accident
Hadn't thought of this, Edge and an increasingly unhinged Matt Hardy in the same company together is not a pleasant thought in a controlled environment. And AEW is not a controlled environment.
can his debut tonight get close to 2 million vieweres?
The "harry" bros are the best tag team ever.
Exactly what I’m thinking Man I’m uneasy because it most likely will happen and these guys have no protection there .. I hope they don’t ruin their lives my trying to re accomplish those crazy spots they did in their 20s
Tony is trying to bring in Lita for the cherry on top.
The funniest part was when Edge realized only one side of the arena had fans.
thats when he realized aew is nothing more than a indie show on steroids

Edge coming and then stopping to hype up the crowd on the hard-cam side after realizing it was empty was my favorite highlight of his debut
I felt bad for him ngl
Hard can was 75% full. So not enough to shoot it
Also, it's near impossible for someone who is not WWE to attract casuals due to their monopoly. WWE is to apple what aew Is to Samsung. The product doesn't matter nearly as much as the brand
@@willdemore4418that applies more for AEW imo. Nobody in AEW is really over, the idea of the promotion is. WWE is just the only wrestling company that matters at all, they have stars and the general public knows that.
@@willdemore4418 WWE aren't forcing casuals not to go to AEW shows. If AEW shows were good, they'd fill arenas.
The best part was when he ran towards the hardcam side of the entrance way and realised that there weren't any fans there, so he just ran down the ramp.
I noticed that when he was coming in the ring and never looked the hard cam direction. Then AEW production did the overhead look and it really wasn't anyone there. Maybe he can fill those seats for the next few months to a year
@@MultiBlack17probably not.
Eh cut him some slack. He's used to full arenas lol

Did Krusty The Clown say that? 🤣
YES!
He’ll move like a stone when a vanilla midget who can’t do moves properly lands on him and breaks his neck.

Personally, nothing but love for Edge. I'm happy that he's able to have another run with Christian before he really retires. Listening to his explanation, it's understandable why he left. WWE wants to go in a different direction and he wants to still be a main event player. Whatever he does, I just hope it doesn't involve another ladder match with the Hardyz 😂. Or God forbid, a garbage match with Plumber Moxley.

WWE doesn’t want Adam as a full-time guy. Brian is correct in what he said.

@@derpderpin1568 Adam is about to turn 50 years old. He has a history of neck & spine injuries. Those are BIG factors as to why WWE won’t invest in him as a full-time guy going forward.
The number one hope for him should be that he doesn’t get hurt while trying to keep up with the reckless/dangerous AEW style of matches.
WWE isn’t as worried about AEW as they were when it started. WWE could’ve overpaid Adam to ensure that he didn’t take Tony’s money. They (WWE) didn’t do that. That says all that anyone really needs to know. 💯

He will get hurt. Omega's last statement on Edge was very worrying.
AEW need much better refs, and they need an owner with some clue about the consequences of different types of bumps...

If you’ve attended a live WWE event where Edge is wrestling recently, he gets a serious pop. More than some of the other talent that is billed higher. He’s perpetually over and is a major draw. I wouldn’t retire either.
@TheGOAT-hj6sl It does in a vaccuum. If they can find success with him then who gives a shit what a company did 25 years ago. The best part was when all the people that have been calling him washed up, and saying he needs to retire for the last couple years, immediately disappeared the second the AEW rumors started.
Fans have had a variety of issues with Edge's WWE return run. But him being "washed up" wasn't one of them. He's in as good physical/ring/promo shape as you can be at his age.
It goes both ways. Now all the WWE fans are saying he's washed up. Wrestling fans suck
How crazy would it be for Edge to get heat with the evps and see the aew faithfuls turn on him? In all seriousness I hope he has a great and safe run so he can ride off into the sunset on his own terms

@jonjones9917You don't say? Of course everyone in aew loves the elite. The elite is the reason 95% of them got a job there in the first place.
Edge generally hasn't been involved in much drama. He also has a lot of friends at AEW. I don't see a Punk-like situation happening anytime soon.
Plus, Tony Khan is probably salivating over the prospect of E&C vs the Hardys.
The timing of Edge’s return is interesting. Imagine if Edge came back while CM Punk was still around. Punk May have had an ally against all the people he had an issue with. I would have loved to see an alliance between Edge and CM Punk.
My biggest fear is Edge joining AEW and getting immediately hurt like every other former WWE talent there that now has to work with gymnastic children
So he will do an Aaron Rodgers? I hope Edge has a great run in AEW. A bunch of new talent to work with and he can ride off into the sunset with his best friend.

Honestly I'm both happy Edge shook every dollar he could out of Tony Khan's pockets to pay him to jump ship. But, I'm really concerned about his future there. I wouldn't trust most of the AEW roster to work a safe match with him. Also, once he starts dealing with the "EVPs" ,he'll realise he's made a big mistake.
I don't think he'll bother being around the EVPs at all. He's gonna just go do his own thing and help whatever youngsters want his help. It ain't a Punk thing where he's going to try to bring his vision to the table except in the things *he does* and that won't involve the title.

More Adams in aew than there were or have been at whatculture.
@@mark7527😂 Great!👍😁
@@wilcee238 Now they have a proper 6-man match... or a 3-way tag team match
@@mark7527That’s brilliant. You left the other ‘d’ in Addams on purpose right?
I give Edge at least two months before he starts to realizing he made a mistake. His heart has been WWE since 1998 this is sort of be like Bret Hart going to WCW then realizing he made a mistake
I agree. I said 2 months as well.
It depends on how well cage help him navigate around the botchmaster.
Lol. I'm sure he'll update us in two months.
O would regret it once his match with Dino is over
well hart and that Benedict Arnold got no one to blame but themselves. good riddance wwe needs young talent not older ' talent '
AEW Fans Now: “They got Edge! In your face, WWE!”
AEW Fans in a Year: “He’s a cancer! He doesn’t draw! With cause! Tony was in fear for his life!”
AEW fan here. My reaction is "I'm excited to see what Edge does in AEW!" Normal people shouldn't care about the AEW vs WWE crap. Unless one of those companies is paying you.
Corny is way too negative on this IMO. Agreed that that the pre-video was putting a hat on a hat, but this was a huge debut. Edge is a massive star and feels like one.
I’m actually looking forward to seeing Edge in AEW. With the good work Christian has been doing, I think those two could have a good feud. And later on, Edge and Christian vs FTR would be fun to see as well. The only thing I fear is Tony Khan will want to do Edge and Christian vs the Hardys in a tlc match.
Don't think christian can do that either
well obviously Tony will book that match and im sure The Hardys and Edge and Christian will be on board with doing it.. and you will watch that match because you still watch AEW for some reason
He is a first ballot Hall of Famer. He originally retired in 2011 and was inducted in 2012.
Rene Dupree and Paul London were talking about Edge signing with AEW, they're guessing the convo between Adam and Christian. It was fucking funny.
Wow, I thought it said 'You Think You Know Me?' ... but after what Brian said I went back to listen to it, and it is 'You Think You Know Him?' Wild.
I read that Beth did that Voice over.
Early prediction: the feud with Christian both men clearly want to do while they still can, a match with Omega, some segments with ftr to acknowledge the know eachother, and a retirement speech in Canada. I'm willing to believe he genuinely plans on retiring next year like he's said before, but Sting changed his mind very quickly after saying he was going to let his deal run out and retire over the summer.
Sting also said at WM32 he was retiring.
Edge and Christian feuded in 2001.
I don't know mate. Edge said on interviews he liked hardcore stuff. To quote the man: "Anytime you saw me do something detrimental to my health, that was my idea".
I fear he might end up like Daniel Bryan or Jericho
Edge signed a multi year deal. And seeing how most big names contract are done in 2027 i assume its either until 2026 or 2027 if all goes well
I'm betting Tony won't be able to control himself from a Edge & Christian Vs Hardys TLC match, despite that being a decade past being worth doing. He would even sign the Dudleys & throw them in there if they weren't on Impact. And ignoring the fact D-Von nearly died from a heart attack trying to get through one of their normal matches.
I like Jim’s take on this, he’s not falling over himself over Adams appearance like all the others who are gushing over this (on Facebook, they’re living in their fantasy world) while Jim is speaking logically and being honest
Jim’s take on this is pretty stupid though. Adam just wants to be with his best friend and try something different. It’s the same as any other job, people get sick of working at a company for 5-6 years, he’s been doing it for 30
I'm excited that he's in AEW, but I thought the actual debut was kinda weird. The video package took me out of the intensity of the match. Why not just hit the music for a big unexpected pop? And the way he was hyping up the crowd made it seem like he had no urgency to get down there and help the good guys. Why wouldn't Christian just bash Sting's head in while Edge was running around on the ramp.
I know wrestling is best enjoyed when you don't over-think it. I don't need it to be totally believable. I just think this moment could have been cooler if it seemed a bit less contrived.
To be fair I agreed more with Brian’s take though and it’s how I felt. I really didn’t think edge would go to aew, but if that’s what he wants I don’t see why he shouldn’t go just because he doesn’t want to upset wwe. If he wants to be back he’ll always be welcome back, you know he’ll make at least equivalent money from Tony and although I do wish aew wrestlers were trained better, I’m sure edge looked into that before he made his decision
Dumb AF thought bro
he gets more attention when he's negative. he probably means a lot of what he says but he's a worker.
They only wanted him to work about 10 matches a year and his best friend is having a run where he's one of the best heels in wrestling. It makes sense for him to jump.
Funny part of Edge's WWE theme, they don't own "You think you know me" either 🤣 it's a royalty free sound clip from a DAW called Acid Pro.
My favorite part was when Edge ran out to both sides of the ramp to hype up the crowd like he normally does but he stopped when he realized there were no people sitting on the second side.
If they're trademarking Cope, please tell me they're planning on pairing Edge with someone the tag team of Cope and Seethe.
We’ve seen this story already. An ex WWE talent debuts, Dynamite gets a ratings boost the following week, then it’s back to business as usual. The product isn’t going to improve.
that is correct, because the Rest of the product will remain the same. aka an asylum ran by the inmates 😩youd need the Whole show to change. you cant be putting Edge and Christian on doing serious stuff in one segment - and Orange Cassidy doing Fake Stuff in the next segment. 😩you cant keep an audience in this way.
Yep and Edge isn’t getting any younger
Yes he’s had a month or so off from wrestling but since he’s going to be wrestling full time it’ll start to take a toll on his already worn out body he’s going to end up like Daniel Bryan (injury prone during his time in AEW)
So now that Tony's got Edge, Christian and the Hardys on his roster, it's only a matter of time before at least one of them gets severely injured in a ladder match of some kind.
I'm a bit confused by Jim's take on this. As a guy from the territory era I don't see what's the big deal about an aging superstar going to another promotion where he can probably get more work.
Me too
That's the way I see it, it's just another territory.
But in today's world the net has killed the fun of it all. I wish more wrestler's would jump back and forth.
I was a Hulkimaniac in the AWA, then he jumped ship. It wasn't till about 3 years later I found out he was still wrestling in something called the WWF 😂
Edge: I can’t wait to work with the newer guys and give them advice…
Who’s going to tell him?
Nick Wayne specifically said he's taken advice from Darby and Swerve and Sting.
@@johnnymittle 2 out of those 3 aren’t very good. Sting can only get himself over and is there for the money and to check of bucket list items. There are so many reasons why taking advice from Darby at face value is a terrible idea.
@@johnnymittletwo of those guys have a microscopic level of experience why is nick listening to them???
@@megsley Swerve has 10+ years. You are out of your element on this topic.
@@taylork7530 Edge took advice from Darby on the car segment and it turned out great. Just admit it, the 'AEW wrestler's don't take advice' thing was overblown. Most of it was pissy Punk getting upset.
The "Episode" we have all been waiting for!!
the comment i was looking for ahaha
I feel like we've been saying that a lot these past months and I ain't mad about it
I wish Adam Copeland the best of luck in AEW. But, at the same time he’s had neck fusion surgery, so I just hope he doesn’t become a stunt man. And at the same time it doesn’t matter at this point how many big names come to AEW their product just doesn’t have it like that. Their hardcore fanbase just came on to the scene and completely just thought they were just gonna take the world by storm.
Edge went from that Royal Rumble moment in front of 70,000 people to that weak crowd of 7000.
Ha.
The one thing here is that Edge isn’t some scrub burning a bridge with WWE. Not only has he been professional about this situation, but if he did ever want to be with WWE again, it’s not like they would say no. This isn’t like if Top Dolla or Enzo trying to get back into WWE. Edge is a multiple time WWE Champion and one of their more prominent wrestlers. Jim’s trying to say Edge is pissing WWE off and burning that bridge while the past few weeks he’s been fantasy booking CM Punk in the WWE? Compare those two situations and tell me WWE would take CM Punk back and at the same time exile Edge forever.
I love how Jim has zero ability to see this through Edge's eyes and Brian is just gently trying to steer him there...such a great pair
What I'm worried about is his incoming match with Dino douche right off the bat (his first match there). That guy botches a lot and injured some guys in the process.
Edge- “I’m here to help” yea help your bank 🏦 account get bigger 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nothing wrong with that, Welcome to America!
@jasmith8039now wait a minute...
.........................................So
@jasmith8039For a chance to be chance to be set for liiiiiiife
He made way more money playing Ares on Disney+
This isnt about money
He was in the hall of fame in 2011-2012. He went to have that match against Christian he wanted for his retirement
Lemme get this straight. Tony signs a pro wrestling HOF worker who still has some juice left. He puts him immediately in a title angle. No, not the World title. The freaking TELEVISION Title?!
I must believe Edge (or Adam) will be paid considerably more in AEW. The WWE used him as an attraction and wanted to protect him. He decided to take the extra retirement plan money...same as Mark Henry, Paul Wight, Christian, and so on.
Within 6 months Edge will permanently retire from wrestling from a broken neck. He pretty much signed his own death warrant signing with AEW.
Brian Last has been on the ball lately. I get Jim's concerns, but Brian's able to understand why Edge went over to AEW. Combine the those two and you have my thoughts on Edges departure.
All the AEW fans complaining on twitter about Cena, Cody, Asuka, Heyman being on NXT next week.... NXT last night did 857K total viewers, beating last week's AEW Dynamite episode that did 855K.
Can we please start giving Shawn Michaels credit for what he's done in building NXT roster over last 25 months?
Yes! It’s getting really good again, I was very impressed with their last two big shows, llja Dragunov, Bron, and Carmelo and Trick Williams feel hotter than most of the main roster and deserve to be integrated with the big stars, they are making everything feel fresher and more promising.
Wait until yall see Dynamite tonight. I worked the show and they definitely Piped in the crowd noise... 😂.
Maybe Edge want to experience working with different wrestling company while he still can and not looking back with regrets of not taking the opportunity
He said in Media Scrum that he will be "helping and mentoring others at backstage".
Fingers crossed him and Tony have already gotten the "permission" for him to do so from certain EVPs. 😆😆😆😆
The "mentoring" part is questionable at best.
Edge was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame the same year he retired...the Class of 2012. Sorry Corny, he was a FIRST time ballot and made it. He was inducted along with Mil Mascaras, Ron Simmons, Yokozuna, The Four Horsemen and Mike Tyson.
It's going to be fun watching Edge experience what all ex-WWE guys do - 1) come in with a big debut - all excited about finally having more freedom, 2) have a few big matches, 3) realize there is no long term plan and the boss is kinda weird and has a big problem keeping order in a very cliquey locker room, 4) realizing the AEW audience and what works on them isn't the same as a WWE audience, 5) trying to raise above it by picking his spots and acting like the adult in the room, 6) realizing it can't be done and making peace with downgrading and the chaos by at least focusing on doing the best work possible, with more blade jobs and violence than he initially expected to do, 7) fully understanding what WWE has meant for him and how much the WWE machine behind him was the reason he was as big as he was there.
I think ex-WWE guys at this point in AEW are to a degree like those broken toys in Toy Story 3 - they say to their friends still at Andy's house (WWE) - come play with us here, we've got so many cool new things to do here, we aren't locked in a box like you are...and then when the door closes and they are finally under contract, and they slowly realize how this is kinda odd and weird compared to WWE, the rest ex-WWE guys show their ripped off arms, dropping eye balls, missing teeth and they maniacally, vindictively and bitterly laugh in the dark "ha ha ha, not what you expected is it kiddo? ha ha ha. well, now you're stuck here with us and you too will know what this feels like because mfer I've been here for years and this shit ain't fun, and you ain't leaving before we're done with you. now go play video games with Tony, because you're new and he gets sad and mean if he plays them alone."
Dude said he wasn't a first ballot Hall of Famer. Yes he was. He was inducted the very next year after his retirement. It was in 2012. That was the first opportunity. How is this guy such a huge wrestling fan and doesn't know this? 😂😂
I can smell a Adam Copeland-Moxley “Texas Deathmatch” in the future. And I hate it.
