@USA1124 Yes, according to recent documentaries Vansice is no longer lucid and could not be prosecuted even if police had sufficient evidence. It's astonishing he was able to get away with this (and I'm convinced he did). It rather suggests police were not as on the ball with the missing person/murder investigation as they should have been. They removed Jodi's car from the parking lot before all necessary forensics and crime scene photographs had been completed. The sad and angering truth is there's much too much violence against women across America. Too much for too long, serial killers with 30 year careers and more.. more actual police work should be done to catch these monsters, it is unacceptable to treat these crimes as a part of life. Why has this been allowed.
I do believe it's been allowed, mostly men with life time careers in abusing and murdering women, because enough resources were not put forth to put a stop to it. Example those 3 abducted girls back east chained beaten raped, people saw them told the police they went to the door the man seemed OK to them they left enstead of really checking it out even with the k owledve of three gone girls, he had them 10 years. There is absolutely No Excuse for That, No Excuse
How precious, when the Police cover up and hide evidence there is money involved. Someone with cash or family connections will be protected. Guilty or not.
This abduction was performed by the “creepy older” guy who proclaimed to be friend only. I was also curious about the man that she spent a lot of time with at the birthday party thrown by the creepy older friend for her. That particular man was found dead in the entryway of his house, several days after the party. The police later determined it to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. I actually believe he was a victim of the same person, that abducted Jody.
John Vansice abducted and murdered Jodi, jealous that she didn't return his interest and had met a man she was romantically keen on shortly before. It's the classic 'If I can't have you, no one will'. One thing's for sure, Jodi was not killed by a stranger!

For those of us who watch a lot of true crime(I can tell you do) John seems like a very typical suspect. We have seen this so many times before. Like in the film Laura you have this older more affluent man taking a beautiful young woman out for meals and social gatherings and she is too naïve to get he wants something more than that.
@@jj18057 There are many good reasons Vansice abducted Jodi the way he did - the element of surprise being a big one! He lay in wait with a van, outside her home, knowing she was due out imminently for her early call at work. Most people were still sleeping at that time, so he was confident he could bundle her into his vehicle in the car park and drive off, without anyone seeing or stopping him. He was right - he did exactly what he set out to do, and all these years later police haven't been able to prove he killed her. It was the perfect murder. Vansice was enraged that Jodi didn't return his feelings. He wanted to put her through a terrifying ordeal before he killed her. This was all about revenge because she'd rejected him and met a different man she was keen on. It was also about control and ownership. He abducted her as he did because he wanted to experience power over her that he couldn't have any other way (ie with her consent). She didn't want him romantically, and she made that clear - despite his many overtures like throwing a birthday party for her, and naming his boat after her, he got nowhere. This was a classic crime of passion by a spurned narcissist. Poor Jodi had no idea what the apparently gentlemanly Vansice was capable of, until he grabbed her that morning and threw her into a van. @@jimtoohey7242 Women very rarely kill other women! Besides which that female colleague has a rock solid alibi - she was at the TV studio presenting the morning news show in Jodi's absence! Statistically speaking the chances anyone but a man killed Jodi, and anyone but a man she knew, are slim to non existent. John Vansice almost certainly killed her because he found out she was falling for a new boyfriend and that triggered him to kill her. It's the age-old 'If I can't have her, no one else will' motive. John Vansice was 20 years older than Jodi and obsessed with her. He wined and dined her, took her out on his boat and golfing, and even threw a 27th birthday party for her. But she made it clear she did not want a romantic relationship with him. @@sunshine3914 Yep, John Vansice stands out as the prime suspect for sure - he had motive, means and opportunity. Statistically speaking, Jodi was highly unlikely to have been killed by a stranger. Women are overwhelmingly murdered by men who have had, or want to have, a romantic relationship with them. I think Jodi told Vansice about her new boyfriend and he was quietly enraged - it triggered him to plot her abduction and murder with the motive 'If I can't have you, no one else will'. That's why the new man in her life is significant - he is not the suspect, he provides the motive for her murder by Vanice.

There isnt any evidence of him murdering her or ANYONE, and even as a suspect, theres every bit as much reason to believe it could be ANYONE that murdered Jodi. Wake up.
One guy abducted and killed her - easy enough, she was a small woman only around 120lbs. I believe that man was John Vansice, enraged that she had met this new man she was crazy about, 10 days before. There's plenty of evidence Vansice was obsessed with Jodi and wanted to romance her, but she always made it clear she wanted only friendship. He hoped to change her mind, even throwing a 27th birthday party for her (a strange thing to do when she was not his girlfriend). I think Vansice found out she had a new boyfriend she was keen on, and it threw him into a jealous rage because it was then made very clear to him he had no chance with her (he was 20 years older, so he was unlikely to be what she was looking for). The new boyfriend is significant, not because he is a suspect, but because he is the motive for Jodi's murder by Vansice.
I think more than one person abducted her one person to drive the vehicle another person or maybe two grabbed her and dragged her into the vehicle. I can’t see one person just grabbing her and trying to drive at the same time. Unless he did something to her when he got Jodi in possible drug her to keep her quite.
I don't think that John did it. I think that if he did , he would have been arrested already. And then the guy was interviewed multiple times. He took lie detectors and he wasn't the smartest fish in the sea. He didn't see him that intelligent to pull off a murder and to get away with it.
We don't know if there was damning evidence in Jodi's car. Someone has to be made to take responsibility for removing Jodi's car as evidence. There are laws against obstruction of justice and evidence tampering is part of that.
Its obvious who it is who did this. Now this makes even more sense for motive bc finding out about this other guy who would of drove the culprit right over
Exactly - John Vansice killed Jodi, because he found out she was keen on this new man, and he didn't stand a chance with her. It's the classic 'If I can't have you, no one else will' motive for murder. Vansice was 20 years older than Jodi and obsessed with her - she made it clear she wanted no more than friendship but he did everything he could to impress her, taking her out on his boat and throwing a 27th birthday party for her. She didn't realise how dangerous he was and how possessive he would become. The new boyfriend is the motive for her murder.

Just because you heard doesn’t mean it’s true. People’s lives have been ruined by gossip and rumors. Only to find out later thanks to DNA that the person everyone suspected wasn’t involved.
Strange things happen all the time it could be a possibility, satellite dishes are all over the world someone from another country may have had an unhealthy obsession with her. A person of power a diplomat, president, prince, sheik, the cops mentioned in another video she was getting phone calls from strangers at the station all the time. She also said had a feeling she was being followed and stalked she mentioned that to a few co workers. She took self defense classes and on a few occasions the cops escorted her to work.
I think she probably told him about the new man in her life, hoping it would give him the hint to give up on his romantic dreams about her. Instead it enraged him, and gave him a twisted motive to kill her.
@@glamdolly30 I think you're absolutely right about everything and theorize the exact same scenario. Based on new information over the past year or so, I actually think that her new love interest was John's son, Trent. They met on a waterskiing weekend on John's boat. I think that the idea of Jodi choosing his own son over him was absolutely intolerable for John Vansice.
I think her boss Amy Kuns knows more.
I've always believed the exact same thing.
A lot of talking but nothing was said.
I agree with you Clyde we learned absolutely nothing in this video! 🙄 bottom line is the opportunity to prosecute and evidence was lost years and years and years ago when they let John Vansice off the hook ..
great questions and extra details learned. 👍
Did they ever have a FBI profiler?
Could this case be related to drugs?!
Could someone from her past be the culprit? Someone she broke up with?
he is only saying what the police no ? i think she went to the police. Told them she felt she has been followed .. few days before she went missing. ?
I feel so bad for her family my heart breaks for them she must have been a great person.
Just wish someone would clear their conscience and at least give info anonymously. Glad they're still interested in this case.
Pardon, but if a killer is out there - shouldn't that person be taken off of the streets?
Did any of the suspects have a black truck and or a white van? Find those vehicles, high chance you have found the killer.
Dude, I think you may be on to something there.
The old creepy guy who named his boat after her & threw her a party did.
Agree
@@sunshine3914 why would John V. attack Jodi in the parking lot?
If John V. wanted to harm Jodi, why didn’t he do it in the privacy of his own home or Jodi’s?
@@sunshine3914 Yep, John Vansice stands out as the prime suspect for sure - he had motive, means and opportunity. Statistically speaking, Jodi was highly unlikely to have been killed by a stranger. Women are overwhelmingly murdered by men who have had, or want to have, a romantic relationship with them.
I think Jodi told Vansice about her new boyfriend and he was quietly enraged - it triggered him to plot her abduction and murder with the motive 'If I can't have you, no one else will'. That's why the new man in her life is significant - he is not the suspect, he provides the motive for her murder by Vanice.
talk to the galkins and monahans again patrick wickering has information carmen wickering is envolved in this case Jackie firsching
not in the car or what was dropped...of they say she was drugg down the hill to east pasrk?
Unless she told the old neighbor guy about it the night before she went missing then he went into a weird jealous rage
Is it possible she was on to a criminal enterprise of some sort?
I just watched UA-cam channel That Chapter. Someone made a comment that she could have possibly been investigating the police for embezzling money.
Iowa is ripe with drugs.
Wasn't John Vansice the first and most obvious suspect?
I think she had Information they don't want to go Public
Im gonna speculate, it was a colleague or somebody who is "above suspicion'.
she was drug down the east park hill? explain that
Jerry Lynn Burns.?
This appears to be a hit job from a drug rig (drug cartel) or from a corrupt police officer than a random murder, "heat of passion" murder or a murder of a serial killer. Jodi was covering a story on the city's meth problem before her murder (disappearance).
Youre insane.
The hit was put on by her coworker Amy
@@malcriadamedina5358 Oh yeah, you already said... Amy had Jodi murdered, because she didn't invite her to her birthday party! The motive was hurt feelings, lol!🤣
@@glamdolly30 then had a private funeral for Jodi. Then came out with new information in 2019 saying a man named John called the station asking for Jodi, indicated that Jodi probably did drugs to tarnish her name. In 2011 she was Jodi overslept often 2-3 times a week , it was normal, in another interview in 2022 she said Jodi never overslept, it was rare she was always on time. Jodi's bed was perfectly made with even decorative pillows on top, but she was running late that morning, why would she make her bed. Within days of being missing Amy even began using Amy's office and desk at work! If I despise a co worker so much she's the only one I don't invite to my birthday party, and then go missing and this person is having private memorials for me after my death, I'd want people to look into them.
@@malcriadamedina5358 The Media usually try to pit women against each other! Especially attractive women like these two!
What is the tattoo on his forehead supposed to be?
I wonder how much this PI is charging for his investigative efforts?
I always wondered what happened to her. Obviously she was kidnapped and murdered. Who done it?
it's not drug related. Let's not go of track hear.
Ridge has been implying that Jodi had a new BF who killed her for so long.
Can he please let it all hang out?
I don't think her new boyfriend did it! If anyone killed Jodi, it must have been John Vancise!
How much longer to wait it's been 33yrs tell the name Steve don't wait another 33
This will never be solved
I sadly agree.
It already has been - John Vansice killed Jodi, enraged that she didn't return his feelings but had met a new man she was crazy about 10 days before he abducted and killed her. It's the classic 'If I can't have you, no one else will' motive of a possessive, obsessed man.
@@glamdolly30 Bullshit. Absolutely never been proven.
@@chocolatetownforever7537 Many murderers have got away with their crimes purely because police couldn't prove it beyond a reasonable doubt! Are you really so naive?
@@glamdolly30 You cant solve a crime WITHOUT enough evidence proving it beyond a reasonable doubt lol.
Just because you THINK Vancise did it, doesnt mean that he did. There isnt any evidence of him murdering her or ANYONE, and even as a suspect, theres every bit as much reason to believe it could be ANYONE that murdered Jodi.
Wake up.
Ok so what is new here ?
She had a fast relationship with someone she had met ten days before her abduction. Only investigators were aware of this until now.
i was basically there
Bullshit...It's a crime of one loner....
I agree
I agree too...just one guy overpowered her that morning...poor lady.
He is not an interesting person but he is now a person of interest?
John referred to her in the past immediately.
@l u l u You do realise there's such a thing as free speech? Incidentally John Vansice has advanced dementia. Sue me? I could accuse him of being a 911 terrorist and he wouldn't deny it! 🤣
you all have it all wrong...smh
John Vanisce
It's the po-po...Stearns????
I think it may be someone from her work, they would know her schedule. That female producer looks sketchy to me and she looks beefy enough to subdue a little girl like Jodi .She also wasn't forthcoming about someone.
This girl didn't look so "beefy" to me in the pictures I saw of her back in 1995!
Have you ever tried a psychic ?

They don’t have the evidence to go into court.
Or the person they refer to is powerful.
She will never be lost to memory.

This PI has nothing. She was taken by lone obsessive person

He was married man toos . We heard .
Just because you heard doesn’t mean it’s true. People’s lives have been ruined by gossip and rumors. Only to find out later thanks to DNA that the person everyone suspected wasn’t involved.
If you're referring to John Vancise, I think he was divorced when he met Jodi!
I'm very impressed that Tara Reid did a hard pivot from acting to journalism.

It was her co worker Amy
She might still be alive but with his grown up kids by now, held against her will..

Sure......
Maybe she was taken by a complete stranger or another theory a lot of circumstantial evidence seems to point to her friend that threw her the birthday party he seemed to be obsessed with her. Just my thought on this.

Putting all the facts together I honestly believe she was a victim of the green river killer
What on Earth makes you think that? His victims were from the Seattle Washington area
You can't be serious
Glad you arent a detective
Little education Amy. Gary Ridgeway was here in Seattle. Not too close to Iowa look on your map. I lived within walking distance of some of his victims.
I highly doubt this. Ridgeway was never in the Midwest.
