This track is an absolute masterpiece!!! Amazing songwriting, ridiculously well produced and a killer, heartfelt performance from the band. To say that they are criminally underrated would be an understatement, that's for sure. I seriously can't believe they are not more well-known.

What's really interesting here is that the song has only one chord (except the two chords at the end of the song, but nevermind that now). It's D minor. Well, since the guitar is tuned down to D standard, it's actually E minor, but let's just go for what the notes and chords are called when the guitar is tuned to E standard. So... D minor barred chord on the fifth fret, but you only use the three high strings. The bass line is A, G, Bb, C in the intro, and then it starts with Bb instead of A, goes back to G, Bb and C again. And that's the song. Except for the outro, which goes F, E and finishes on C. The melody lines in the solo are basically the two high strings played on 10th fret (b string) and 12th fret (e string), going to 13-12 on e, then 13-10 on b, 12th fret on the G string and back to fret 10 on the B string. Use a lot of delay and distortion with reverb, let the notes ring and get some feedback from the amp. And voilá! Simple song, but so very very good! The most interesting part for me is the bass line that gives a whole other context and feeling to the chord melody in the verse. So, because of the different bass notes, it's not D minor all the way. It's interesting what you can do with a melody just by changing the bass note.
