  • This video shows that I spelled the word FANCY incorrectly. But alas I am human. It also shows you how to import a bit map or sketch and turn it into vectors to make a V-bit cut. This image is then used to make a sign. And that is the real point of the video, so sorry about the spelling. This also show that before you make the sign get your wife or husband to check it. Thanks for watching!
Have fun with life and your CNC.

Yes you can do this. The hardest part is learning the software. I recommend that you start with a simple sign using a v-bit and the vcarve tool to cut it. Use a scrap board and go to it. I have a series of videos that show you how to make Vcarve signs and how to use the CNC Shark. From teach pendant to zeroing the Z axis. Take your time and go slow on the cutting and you will get there. If you are in Floridia near Bushnell I teach a beginners class on use of the CNC and I have started taping those classes. I hope to have some more of them on line soon. The bit map class is the fourth in that series. This is the first ua-cam.com/video/V6DhINE02lY/v-deo.html Hope this helps and keep in touch.

I am also semi retired and do online consulting. I just got the Shark HD 510 and I am slowly putting it together as I clean up my shop. I am watching videos and subscribed to Randy Johnson classes as well as Axiom v carve classes. Can I do this. Not exactly plug and play.
I got the spindle promo then they came out with the 3HP. I called them and they exchanged it after I paid the difference.
I went with Next Wave because they consistently got back to me during the buying process. Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks
