such a cute detail to read My Granny's Purse! im a preschool teacher and i like to dress up every single day, im a colorful teacher who wears glittery makeup and i like to wear odd patterns and funky dresses (im the only one in the center who wears dresses), plus its a fun departure from the other teachers who wear sweats and are very clearly tired of this job. the kids enjoy the fashion because obviously i look like a walking cartoon character but i get a lot of my style inspirations from drag queens like you two

As a tip: Goodwill in AZ have mostly taken away the jewelry and they send it off to corporate so they can sort of valuables. So don't rely on just goodwill for jewelry. Also, they don't wash anything that comes in, so always wash whatever you buy. You never know if it's a crate that just got put out, or one that's been stored for a long time. There is also bagrin centers for goodwill, which is where the colored tags (from the week before they they try to filter out), that all go to a building that they put stuff out in rotation and sell by the pound. Those centers can be gross, but you can find cool stuff.

I have to say I really love the concept of Digital Drag Mom and there's some good suggestions here, but you missed the truly valuable techniques the best drag mothers have passed onto their daughters over the years: How to bring a stapler in your purse and how to convincingly switch tags (works great for colour-specific tag discount days), how to conceal merchandise by layering in dressing rooms, learning how to maximize time and what works best when smashing and mopping a display window in the middle of the night, how to cut up and reassemble gowns and costumes you've stolen from other queens who've wronged you so they don't recognize them immediately, how to get the most out of blackmailing your local politician, how to get Medicaid to pay for breast implants when you can't afford a breastplate from Boobs For Queens, how to get welfare to pay for everything else, and perhaps most importantly how to create makeup products from commissary items so you can be the purtiest (read:most powerful) ladyboy on Cellblock D when it all catches up with you.
Dying at this, especially cutting up the costumes so the queens you stole from don't recognize them 🤣🤣🤣

Thrifting is one of the best ways to thrift for drag, cosplay, costumes, etc. I'm a modify cosplayer because I'm not the best at sewing, so I can usually find things I can dye, alter, etc. Also, bed sheets and curtains are some of the best fabrics for the lowest price. They can easily be dyed, cut, distressed, etc.

OMG This is giving me flashbacks to high school and my pack of "Baby Drag Queens" (No really that was seriously our group drag name, the BDQs!).
