Just bought a Phin filter and some expensive Vietnamese coffee but I think I will practise with some cheaper beans first. Enjoyed the demo. Best I’ve seen.
@@JohnNy-ni9np 1:2 is usually for espresso. This phin coffee is different, 1:3 which I learned from Vietnamese barista. The video, 15g coffee grounds to 45g of hot water.
@@JohnNy-ni9np no, you are correct. Whoever taught him this must of been doing it so be more like an espresso shot. I make Phin coffee, and the yield he is doing is too little and too small. Even at Viet restaurants the amount of coffee is way more than this.
whoever taught you this was doing this to be more like an espresso shot...this is not how you make a regular cup of Vietnamese coffee AT ALL. I goto Viet restaurants all the time and they serve Vietnamese coffee with a ratio/yield larger than this. I have also been making Vietnamese coffee at home for 10 years---this is not the right yield. It's too small--trust me.
Went to Vietnam to learn phin coffee (phin coffee class). The recipe is from a respected Vietnamese barista, . The ratio, grind size and how to use the phin is from them. You can double the recipe if you want more, larger phin filter. The one that was used in a coffee shop is huge phin filter. Of course, you make your own, whatever ratio you want. Cheers!

Thank you, now I know how to use my Phine filter the right way 👍
Excellent tutorial!
Love this!!!!!! ☕️😎🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
can you show making a full cup instead? 😊
How would you compare your grind setting to V60 or Kalita wave? I use a Varia VS3 so I don’t know the Timemore clicks.
Grind size is medium coarse like brewing for dark roast beans for filtered coffee.
Can I make this with Arabica coffee ?
@@johnjoyner8172 yes, any will do
Too much time. Just grind, bloom, fill to top. Great coffee.
What is this Ratio???
U add 15 gram coffee & 45 ml hot water..!!!
Make a video for add on condensed milk..!!
Ratio is 1:3
@@HomeBaristaCorner, I thought the ratio is 1:2, dosage 15g, yield 30g.

@@HomeBaristaCorner, thanks, any particular reason why V60 ratio is 1:15 and phin is only 1:3 ?
