At 61, without an onboard bathroom of some sort, I doubt you can do it. Sell the SUV, buy an older small motorhome (one where everything works) And really enjoy life, instead of being homeless and hating it. And NO, contrary to what you see online, you dont need to spend $50K and a year doing renovations to an older RV before hitting the road! You simply buy it, put gas in it, and enjoy the adventure. Been there, done that, am enjoying it!
Same here but I will wait till I get 65 as SS will kick in and by then hoping to get an online business going. I’m 62 now and working toward “ living in a van, down by the River “ my sisters laugh. But it’s out of necessity and the love of travel, not just on the couch staring at the TV. Good luck Vicki and make it a lovely adventure.
Well... circumstances already forced me into living in my SUV 2 days ago. It's already been a learning adventure while still in the city. 😁 Glad I'm learning now before I hit the open road! 🤗 Still a lot of things to deal with in storage here before I can do that, but I'm not pressuring myself with a certain "time limit", so that makes it a lot easier on me. The SUV backseat is actually perfect for me sleeping since I'm only 4'1". 😁 And finally last night I got great sleep in a hospital parking garage that I am familiar with. ☺
@@canadianwarrior2108 I already had to get "emergency" creative with the bathroom issue in the middle of the night. 😀 I happened to still have a small paper shredder with me. The "paper catcher" plastic container worked out great for me in the moments. 😆 And since I'm small, I was actually able to do it on my back seat. 😄 "Desperate times call for desperate measures" 😎😀 I actually enjoy being creative out of necessity. Shows meself that my thinker is still functioning good. Lol
Not been watching much Vanlife videos of late, but so enjoy your authentic channel and relate to this particular interview (tideline-to-alpine was wonderful).... BobWells is my hero....his content helped me get on the road last April after rental sold, not wanting to rent again due to Covid...
I'm 72 and I would love to get an ambulance and semi set it up the way you have yours I appreciate the video and listening to you I give you a thumbs up lady. I worked and raise my three kids plus help my daughter with her kids,,, now I want to do what I want to do and have my little dogs with me. God bless you and keep up the good work and have a happy life... Also you're definitely an inspiration to all of the senior citizens but this sounds great to me...
Very cool rig and video. I watch The Campulance Man videos, he has a converted ambulance travels across the USA. I like the idea of an ambo as it's basic and ready to live in with a few modifications. Great video, Forrest.
I really appriciate this video. So many people invest 10's of thousands to go live the "Van Life" and really glamorize it to unreasonable heights. You prove that is not necessary, and nor is it reasonable or possible for the average person.
Can totally relate. I’ve been in a rut for a while so I just bought a chinook to work on over summer and I’m heading to warm weather later this fall. Looking forward to meeting some of the people I see on UA-cam!
Great interview and tour. I am turning 62. I raised 6 children worked 32 yrs . I am the family caregiver currently still have my 81 yo mom she refuses to hit the road the road with me so I do short trips in my 1999 Ford E 150 .Someday I hope to be full time.
Im right there my friend. An emocional state that is litterally changing my mental health. Right now its imposible for me to make big changes. Family situación. But yes. I know GOD will let me start my vanlife son. Love and BLESSINGS.
I'm 70, and have been stressed and still working. I really want to enjoy what life I have left, but my husband wants to keep his recliner and big screen t.v. he enjoys waiting to die. I couldn't handle the guilt of leaving him, so I'm letting my life pass me by
@@onefreelife I understand, as I’m in a simular relationship. But I have a timeline of you do you and I’ll do me, I’ve been watching van life videos the last 5 years and I’ll get things in order in 5 more years, then on the road to adventure.

I've thought more than once that an ambulance would be great because it already has all those cubbies. Thsnk you for sharing.
I'm 61 and gonna be doing SUV life soon... out of necessity.
Wishing all the best for all those doing the same! 💙✌🤗

Move that old coot and his chair right on into the vehicle. He’ll be grumpy but he might like it.

Is this rig diesel? I am concerned about mechanic issues. What do you do if you need a mechanic?
I have yet to find a rown with more than 100 PPL that didnt have a mechanic shop.
Is the mechanic work extremely expensive or near to the same as a gas mechanic?
She will get a mechanic.
