No it’s not. If a QB is sliding u cannot hit him because unlike any other position on football it makes him automatically down by performing the slide. Dirty. Cuz bro knew he was down and did it intentionally. That’s fucked up and not good sportsmanship
@@ChadwickTerrell-yt7gi he was going for a first down. You have to stop the qb at all costs. He KOd him to ensure he wouldn’t be able to reach for a first down. Clean play

Both guys fault. Yes, 1000% dirty hit from a dirty Boy. But, it is taught to all pro QB's on the 1st day of their 1st training camp, you get to that 2nd level, you GET YOUR ASS TO THE SIDELINES, unless, there is...no...one...in...front...of...you !!!!!!! Because 2nd level is LB's and Safeties, and they hit HAAARRRRDDDDD !!!!!
Doesn’t matter your old head opinion. It’s illegal and shouldn’t have happened. Crazy that you see an illegal hit that results in someone unconscious and say this
DB can't wait all day for a qb to slide. Qb here waits until dB commits, then slides to draw the foul. League needs to have a convo about this at the winter meeting.
Exactly. Lawrence fully INTENDED to get hit here, gaining the extra yards PLUS a 15 yard penalty. He just didn't INTEND to get KNOCKED OUT. Maybe this should happen more, and these pretentious QBs will stop taking advantage of the rules put in place to protect them.
In my opinion, it was a late slide and Azeez was already in the progression for the hit. He led with his forearm, not his helmet. Definitely no malicious intent there. He just popped Lawrence really good. Fine him and call unnecessary roughness. There was absolutely no reason to eject him and he definitely doesn’t deserve a suspension, which I’m sure will be one game. He isn’t a trouble maker. He’s just a very physical linebacker like he’s supposed to be.
Here is perhaps some unconventional wisdom and is anti-PC…there should be no suspensions at all. A fine? OK, sure, simply due to the look of it. This was not a dirty play, but a “bang bang” play, meaning, it was simply in the spontaneous moment of playing a grown man’s game, coming out of the pocket, and running full speed into the teeth of the defense. Trevor (and all modern quarterbacks) need to learn this: Slide feet first in the open field and when it is crowded, and there is a chance you will get hit hard, slide “early”; quit trying to get extra yards. This is more on Trevor, not the defender.
All QBs do this. You have to know not to dive towards the ground at QBs when you are coming up that close. They are ofc going to slide and if they don’t why wouldn’t you go higher? That dive was made to hit a QB sliding
Defenders should not be held responsible for the ball carrier safety. The slide was late . Everyone on the field should be responsible for their own safety. A lot of “late hits” and players being called “dirty players” due to late slides and players “pretending “ to run down field then turn to go out of bounds.
Considering he’s the ball carrier, and decides when to slide. I’d say it want late nor early. It was a slide. No one gave the ball carrier rules as to when he must slide. You’re repeating a comment that’s been said multiple times. But there is no “right time” to slide
It’s a football game, the whole point of the defense was to stop the advancement of the ball. They didn’t do anything wrong. If a QB decides to run it they need to be ready to suffer the consequences.
I'm just baffled no one is calling out Trevor for running full speed and when he knew he wasn't going to get more yards, deciding last minute to slide...there should be no tolerance for dirty play (and I'm not calling this dirty), but at the same time, quarterbacks need to get down early.
Dude only slid 3 ft. Ain't gonna bend the rules and get an easy first down cuz ya went feet first. Tryin to slide in but still trying to get enough yards. He needed to get blasted for that
Seriously, "If you're not putting a QB into a fencing posture and causing at least a TBI then what are you even doing". If this was pickleball I might be questioning it.
Unnecessary. Suspension
My man took the NFL back to the 90's when anything goes !!!! Go Texans !!!
Looked like a boxing knock out.
As soon as he starts his slide he considered down. So there's no need to tackle him.
I don’t like Lawrence. Since Clemson I thought he was an arrogant pretentious ass. But that is a dirty hit. He didn’t deserve that. Not cool.
Didn't look like the Houston players wanted to help there player in that scrum. They knew it was dirty.😊
Those who are saying it wasn't dirty are crazy. He went low to hit his ass. Not like he was dropping a shoulder on him.
Damn bro look like Tyson upper cut him😂😂
This needs to happen at a cowboys game, tey to get a little excitement
He was trying to stop him short of the first down line
This hit is allowed on Certain QBs all of the time… I won’t say which ones tho.
Yeah dirty hit. But I’m also ready for QB’s to stop running all the time
Get rid of the slide the QB is a football player too.
The only good thing about the foght that broke out, was that it took the players on both teams away from T-Law so that the staff could look at him.

If you fighting for that extra yard, don't go feet first
So he should have remained upright? Wtf you sayin?

Th3 qb slide. Making qbs soft. Ruining th game. He is an active runner. He is and should be fair game.

Nah saying that’s a late slide is just ignorant.
@ dude he barely one stride away from Azeez when he decided to slide. That was late as hell. If you can’t see that then idk what to tell you

How do you have a late slide? Probably should stop smoking
If you seen a game in person. They are so fast. How can you blame him for that hit? He was not down yet. Bring back the old days

This shows how soft football has become. You can’t even tackle a QB anymore without it being called “roughing the passer” now..
