I'm surprised no one has mentioned "Bring Me Home" from Mark of the Blade. that was the first song they've done with cleans and emotional lyrics. The Valley and Kin of course touch a lot more on Phil's childhood and the concept of the real Phil and his evil self, but "Bring Me Home" is specifically about his father. the music video is of a dad and his son, and at the end it shows Phil at his father's grave. it makes me tear up every time I listen, ngl. "I'll live on and carry your name and be what you always thought I could be. I hope we meet at the end but I'll never forgive the world for taking my best friend."

Bring Me Home is one of my favorite songs of all time because it’s a great song, and I also respect Phil for putting himself out there with not only doing clean vocals for the first time but also writing such an intense and personal song.

Looking forward to this one. Phil Bozeman is such a versatile, powerful vocalist, one of the best in the whole metal scene in my opinion. "Bloodsoaked Symphony" would be ideal for Helloween because of the video.

I am so happy you have gotten round to Whitechapel!! You can hear the evolution on the last album, would love to see your reactions to Hickory Creek (edges this way in sound) and When a Demon Defiles a Witch from the last album. Never had a deathcore band be able to choke me up with their lyrical content.

I've done such a dive into The Valley over the past few days, and it might be one of my favorite albums in the last few years. The music video for "When A Demon Defiles A Witch" alone should have won a god damn award or two, and that's not even including the lyrical or musical composition.

In your stream on tuesday, you've mentioned the video of When a Demon Defiles a Witch and I've become curious enough to watch it afterwards. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for this, Tank. I lost my father when I was two (so it's not really entirely relatable to what Phil is going through; but then again, it is) - and this gives everything I've been feeling over the last 30 years a voice I've never heard. I know I'll be able to sleep better tonight because I now know that I live in a world where this exists. And if you ever read this, Phil, thank You. I love You. You're not alone.

One of the best metal/rock records released in the past couple decades.

Whitechapel has changed (and hasn't) bro!
Definitely recommend the last two singles "Blood Soaked Symphony" and "Lost Boy".
Also really recommend going back to their last album on songs "When a Demon Defiles a Witch (somewhat similar composition to "Lost Boy", great video too!), And "Hickory Creek" (similar to "Orphan", also very personal and emotional)
    Take your picks! Cheers brother!

Regarding your pronunciation of “Aristides,” I’m pretty sure you pronounced it correctly as it would likely be pronounced in Dutch. The name also seems to have originated from Ancient Greece, and Athens in particular. So, if you were to pronounce a Greek name in English, I think it would likely come out as æ-rih-sty-deez. But anyway, I think that your Dutch pronunciation was either very close or exactly right. Thank you for covering this band; I’m looking forward to hearing more of them!

Soooo, have you listened to The Valley yet?
And also when will we be getting a Blood Soaked Symphony reaction? 🙌🤞
The Valley is a great album, honestly I think Whitechapel evolution as a band is the perfect example of a bands evolution over time. It’s like a fine wine or cask of whiskey, aged to perfection with every subsequent album. I first got into them on their self titled album and in my eyes Whitechapel can do no wrong. The perfect mix of evolution, experimentation and sticking to their roots. Even Orphan, yeah it’s wildly different to say… This Is Exile but, just through guitar tones and melodies and vocal hooks it is undeniably Whitechapel.
God I freakin love this band

Unfortunately the band announcing Alex Rudinger as a permanent drummer for the band was a misstep and he denied he ever agreed to that. Alex is a phenomenal drummer and I attribute his drumming to being a big component of Kin being the album that it is. Alex is a permanent member of Light the Torch which is a shame because as much as I love Howard Jones, that band is just super mid.
To me Whitechapel is The Valley and Kin. Couldn’t care less for their previous works but I’m a huge fan of these last two albums. They’ve really nailed down their sound and hit their stride in a more open minded and musical way versus just being a brutal deathcore band.
