    Using this kind of setup live since 4 years to run some support backing tracks click and cues, doing large venue's with my band here in Portugal over 300 shows and never failed me (iPad with multitracker, Behringer umc404, and midi controller.) So flexible and reliable ! No more pc/Mac on stage with Ableton live it's a great solution too but once you move to multitracker there's no way coming back.
    Great tutorial by the away !

      @@kevinpaige5746 I forgot to reply to this. Now, I have an iPad 12 5th gen and I never use iCloud anymore. I simply dump the stems to a flash drive and connect it to my iPad. Then copy the files to my ipad in multitracker folder and I don't need any wifi or internet connection. Sorry for the delay in responding!

    John, this video is exceptionally helpful, insightful and masterful. I would appreciate it immensely if you would make a follow up or pt. 2 which goes a bit more in-depth into your workflow from stem import to live. There are just a few areas in which I am uncertain, and your further clarification would be exemplary. Thanks man!

      Thanks Justin. I plan to do so. We played a gig on December 5th, but here in California, lots of opportunities to demo this live have been canceled, so it is hard for me to accomplish my vision follow up UA-cam of showing deployment from the stage. I have some video from a small event from December 5th. Lots of cool stuff has been revealed to me by users. I will include that in a video. I thought it was necessary to create each folder for stems and import, but a user showed how you can just drag and drop the folders en-masse into your iPad. So much more efficient! After the holidays I will do a part 2. I did a custom backing track creation video, but that does not seem too popular. Seems folks are already up to date on that. So, I plan to stay focused on this. Stay tuned for a pt. 2! Again, thanks!

    Thank you so much for this video. It definitely helps us get started.
    A couple questions for you please. We are vocal group and we sometimes use a 4 to 5 piece band. We want to use multi tracker as we’ve had a musician help us with Ableton in the past. What interface do you suggest we need for all of our sequencing? Again, we have four part vocals and we will have vocal sweeteners, some extra horns, occasional secondary keys parts for padding, percussion and extra guitar. We want to be able to carry this on planes in our carry on luggage so the smallest one necessary of course would be the most beneficial to us. Thank you again.

      @CaliforniaCreedence  3 роки тому +1

      So, when you connect the iPad to the Zoom L12 and launch Multitracker, make sure you are in Audio Interface Mode and switch Class Compliant Mode to "ON". It looks like you will have 4 outs (outputs 1 and 2 are Channel 9/10, and outputs 3 and 4 are Channel 11/12) and Multitracker will let you route however you want. I suggest you designate Ch9/10 as L/R for FOH and 11 or 12 as Click for Monitor out (for IEM's), bypassing Main out. We get our backing tracks from Karaoke-Version.com. A word of caution, I have had to record some of my own tracks (drums, bass, guitar or vocals) on occasion because the singing is off pitch at times or instrumentation is not quite acceptable. Overall, they are pretty good. The do not need to be converted to .wav. Leaving them as mp3 is fine for Multitracker. Thanks for the kind words!

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  10 місяців тому +1

      @@josephmurphy7259 A couple reasons that have to do with my passion as a sound man. 1 - Bass sounds better running MONO (which can be accomplished on a separate channel) 2 - You can apply compression only to the bass for a more stable bottom end with punch when adjusting the attack on the compressor and 3 - Low/sub frequencies tend to slightly overdrive higher frequencies when combined on the same channel, so separating them gives you a rich and present bass and clean Mid/High stereo frequencies. These are my opinions, but I often hear “for some reason, your guys’ sound system is the best we have heard at our venue.” It’s the little things that count IMHO. Hope this helps clarify! Hi Steve. You are absolutely correct. At the time of this video I had a long history of creating my own backing tracks entirely with my own instruments and vocals. I would render them as .wav for lossless audio. KV is as you indicated at 320, and even if it wasn't, rendering as a .wav file is illogical. So, you are absolutely right. Hi Andy. I have searched extensively for a Multitracker for Android, but there is nothing other than Cubasis, which is a DAW. If you had an iPad you could use Multitracker first and foremost as it runs smoothly on older used iPads that you can get for lower cost. Even so, an iPad 7th gen 10.2 runs Multitracker just fine. IOS has another app called Stage Traxx 3 for your scenario but it is a bit more hungry for CPU. It looks like that if you use a tablet for backing tracks it is either an Android with a DAW like Cubasis, or an iPad with Multitracker or Stage Traxx3. Sorry.

    Our band has been using multitrack since 2020 based on your videos. Up until now we've been running just a simple split out of the headphone jacket (Click/Cues to drummer and tracks to FOH).
    I see you're using the Behringer UMC1820 to send 4 outs (Click, Cues, Bass and FOH).
    Do you know how many signals I can split when I connect the Multitracker App to the UMC1820? (I hope that question makes sense)

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  2 роки тому

      I fully understand your question. The UMC1820 works well for us, and we are up to 7 different channels because we run stereo. 1/2 is R/L backing tracks, 3 is Bass, 4 is Click, 5/6 is R/L percussion and 7 is for Triggers/Cues.
      There are 8 outputs that you can route, but another user shared a catch with me that I didn't know, because we run everything stereo. Channels 3 through 8 can run independently, but 1 and 2 are hardware linked as a stereo output. I would try to run stereo, if possible. You don't need two stereo instruments like we do (percussion and FOH). You can run one stereo and the rest independent. Or you can run 3 stereo and a click and cue channel independently. Truthfully, the more separation, the happier the band and soundman.
      Thanks for the question!

      Hi! Thanks for the encouragement. My thought is that there may be a bit of a resource issue. I am wondering if you could use MP3 or flac files. One regret I have about this video is that I encourage the use of .wav files (since they are lossless) but compressed audio seems just as good for live. Also put the files in a DAW and make sure that all tracks are exactly the same length. if not, from within your DAW set the loop handles (if in DAWs other than Ableton) and export the stems. With Ableton, select all in the arranger view and choose Consolidate and it will set all lengths perfectly, then export the stems. Let me know if I answered or completely missed the point LOL.

      Hi Junior. You don’t need an audio interface. I use an audio interface because we run stereo. Truthfully, you could run it all from the headphone jack. To isolate the click, there are a lot of videos that show how to hard pan, but Multitracker lets you specify which (right or left) channel that you want each track to go to.

    Such a cool video, thank you so much....Question I am new to backing track with wired inears and have a Behringer 404HD. If I follow your templating what is a good config for stereo audio on 1 &2. then what is the config for cue and click... this is combo midi and convered midi to audio file.... Can't thank you enough for making the light come on with this excellent tutorial...

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  4 роки тому

      The 404HD is perfect for your setup! Get the camera adapter for your iPad. It will detect outputs 1 through 4 AND MIDI routing through your 404HD. Multitracker can drive both. For audio, in Song Configuration tab, tap the Green OUT Button, select both outs 1 and 2 BUT don’t pick the 2 UNDER the 1, but the 2 diagonal from the 1 (this is for each audio track for front of house). It is great that all of your backing tracks are stereo. So each FOH channel needs to be routed to 1 and the diagonal 2 outputs (hence, stereo). This can be copied to subsequent songs, so the first song is a little work. Regarding the click and cue tracks, I would route both to output 4 ONLY. Even if the click/guide is stereo, it will be sent mono to the ears. 3 would not be used at all. This video of mine ua-cam.com/video/p_WJ3D8gxUc/v-deo.html shows how to route the click and cue to a muted channel and routed to Aux or in ears. If you don’t have a mixer with this flexibility, get a Behringer Microamp HA400 Ultra-Compact 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier and have each band member tap into it with a headphone extension and connect it directly to the output 4 of the 404HD. The 404HD midi out can communicate MIDI via 5 pin din to your hardware that is MIDI sequenced to a .mid file to load into Multitracker. All audio and MIDI tracks must be the same length/tempo per song. Did this answer the question? Let me know. Thanks. I plan to do another video on MIDI with Multitracker.

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  3 роки тому +1

      Finding a cheap way to do this, is a little tricky, and can involve a lot of different approaches. A method that may cost some money is to start with having a mixer that has at least 4 AUX outputs with PRE/POST fader toggle option. In this case, each AUX goes to wired or wireless in ear monitors. Then, isolate the click to its own output (like right or left if only using the headphone out, or a channel output on a multi output audio interface attached to your iPad). Send the click to a channel on the mixer that is muted and the fader all the way down and this channel AUX is set to PRE-Fader. This way, the click goes only to the ears and the rest goes to the front of house. This is a video I made about stereo, but has a routing section at 2:35. Here is the video.
      ua-cam.com/video/p_WJ3D8gxUc/v-deo.html

    John - excellent video for an excellent product. A few quick questions if you please.
    You mentioned that you switched from Ableton because it was too hard to see on stage. I agree. Did you ever investigate making a custom iPad-based controller using something like TouchOSC or touchAble?
    Is there a noticeable quality difference between using wav vs 320k MP3 files?
    Using karaoke-version stems, they're only available as mp3 files. Do use them as mp3 files or convert them to wav files?
    Have you tried using Multitracker to control DMX lighting using a midi file?

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the positive feedback! Q1 - Yes, I always used a controller with Ableton, but I was noticing on our older live videos (many of which are taken down) that I was seen constantly leaning toward the laptop and squinting to verify what song was next. Q2 - I only use .wav files because, before I discovered K-V, we made our own backing tracks, and saved the stems as .wav, but 320 Mp3 is perfectly fine. Mp3 converted to .wav does not increase sound quality at all. The downloaded quality is the best you will get. I convert to .wav for track consistency with our old ones. I often have to fix K-V tracks, and I have a video on how to stabilize bpm in K-V tracks. Q3 - DMX for lights works fine with MT, the only problems people are experiencing is (with old lighting systems) getting the sysex file out of their old system. Newer MIDI note driven DMX works great when put on a MIDI file track in Multitracker.

    • @oleniacz

      @@CaliforniaCreedence - Thanks for the quick reply. Q1 Yes, I tried using a Launchpad but with no feedback you couldn't be sure you selected the correct track. Hi John,
    I’m getting started with Backing tracks using MultiTracker2.2 and an Allen and Heath CQ-20B. I connect an iPad Air4 to the CQ using a USB C to USB B cable. I am able to assign tracks to the channels on the mixer and save the song. I am able to play the tracks and they come though the mixer. If I shut down the app and the mixer and then restart the mixer and MultiTracker the channel assignments revert to the first channel for all tracks for the song. It seems random and doesn’t happen with every song. Any thoughts ?

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  Рік тому +1

      Hi Ronny, I am giving a quick response for the moment. When you associate tracks to USB channels in the digital mixer, these numbers are hard coded for the song. For example, if I have a Behringer UMC 1820 and I create all my songs where I assign click and cues to channel 4, bass to channel 3 and stereo backing tracks to 1&2 (1 being left and 2 being right). Then, after saving the song in multitracker, I shut it all down and the next day I grab a Presonus VLC44 with 4 outputs to use instead, then all of my songs saved with the click/cues to 4, bass to 3 and stereo backing tracks to 1&2 (1 bing left and 2 being right) will automatically go to those outputs on a completely different device. The next day I grab my UI24R digital mixer to play my backing tracks then then all of my songs saved with the click/cues to 4, bass to 3 and stereo backing tracks to 1&2 (1 bing left and 2 being right) will automatically go to those outputs on that device. However, lets say I have an audio interface with just a left and right output (output 1 is usually left and 2 is usually right), then you will not hear any bass or click/cues because those channels couldn't be found and the output number never changes from how you saved it in MT. It's always assigned as you saved the song. Multitracker is stubborn and won't reassign any outputs, it will stick to the output number that the song was saved as, even if the audio device doesn't have that output number. So, the changes you are seeing likely are happening in the Allen and Health (I envy your device by the way). I looked at the manual for your device and it looks fairly simple but must be saved as a scene and recalled, I believe. Also, my video here may have some significance, but I think you already know what you are doing.

In Playlist mode, the initial play of the very first song after starting the iPad and app may not play correctly. I start a song in playlist briefly. Stop it. Hi David, the trigger track is separate from the click and calls out the structure of the song. Professionals call this the Cue Track. Since all of our monitoring is in-ear, the trigger tells us what the song is (e.g. "Sweet Home Alabama!" ---"Intro!"----"One-Two-Three-Four!"). During the song, the trigger track (or Cue Track)calls out when the chorus is, the bridge, the solo the verse the outro. For example, the click is telling us the tempo of the song to which we are to stay in time with the backing tracks. The trigger is the voice that tells us where we are in the song so that we coordinate with the backing tracks (without the triggers, we may accidentally be playing a verse when chorus backing track vocal harmonies are where the song is.) We separate the click and vocal triggers (Verse! One-Two-Three-Four) so each band member can put them at different volumes. The drummer may want a stronger click and the singer may want stronger vocal triggers (or cues as they call them in Ableton). Hope the response wasn't too long!

    John I really like this app...question, is the App capable of cross fading from one song to the next?

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Frank. This app won't do that. It is a "one shot" player. Your question brings up a potentially cool feature that could be added. Right now, the setting "Move to next song" only loads the next song, but still requires the user to launch it. It would be cool if there was a setting for "continuous play with crossfade" option (setting the gapless time like in Spotify) and the beginning of songs would be the "markers" in case the continuous-play had to be stopped because a band member wasn't ready. The focus of this app is on flexibility regarding mixing/routing independent tracks/clicks and cue tracks. Currently, our band has a medley of Smooth (By Santana) to Oye Como Va, but we have to create that as one song. That is how we overcome the crossfade limitation. I like the idea! I will pass this on to Sebastian (you can feel free to do the same. He is very personable.)

      @@CaliforniaCreedence Thanks John...I'm intending on using this app in a worship scenario...many of those situations use a synth pad underneath (being played at the same time as a song)...you can keep the pad underneath and when the song is over, it reemerges as ambient sound. You then crossfade into a new pad (if in a different key) then start the next song...pretty cool! Lots to think about, but this app has a lot of capabilities I'm not getting with other playback systems and I don't need something as extensive as Ableton live.

    • @frankirr9996

      If we got a crossfade function in the app, I'd simply put the synth pad into each song and when the band is ready to switch I'd push button for the next song which would crossfade out of the previous one into the new one.

I was trying to test Multitracker and I would like to ask you for advice, maybe I am doing something wrong and I don't know how to fix. In my live show I play 70s / 80s dance medley lasting about 20/30 minutes which are composed of songs that follow one another, without a break and always in time. With Multitracker I thought to load every single song (also to be able to resume the show in the chosen song in case of unexpected interruptions). The problem I encountered is that, from the end and the beginning between every single song, there is always a small delay that affects the timing of the dances. We have used this app live for a couple of years. No issues. As good or better than Ableton Live, which used to be our Bread and Butter. It has never faulted during rehearsals and sound checks, as well. So far, zero crashes. We used it successfully on iPad Air First Gen, iPad 7th gen and iPad 8th gen. We have used it with the following interfaces, Presonus 44VSL, Soundcraft UI24, Behringer Uphoria 1820, Steinberg UM28, and the onboard audio interface in the Yamaha Montage 7 flawlessly. Here is what I would keep an eye on, one of the lightning to USB adapter had clicks and pops during rehearsal (it boasted USB 3.0 but had poor data transfer. Stay away from those) so test out and have 2 good camera connectors on hand. The camera connectors with the charging port help out a great deal. Nevertheless, the ones that look super simple, with no charging port, are amazing. The power in the iPad can support 3 45 minute sets. Almost all camera connectors are okay, we just had one that boasted USB 3.0 turned out to be the one that clicked and popped.

      It depends what the budget is for your church. Personally, I prefer all in-ear. MT uses a camera connector to a (at least 4 channel) audio interface. The Click and Cues would be routed to a muted channel on the mixer and and routed to aux channels pre-fader. An easy way would be to replace your wedges with Xvive U4's to go all IEM. Then you can freely route the click and cues to the monitors. See this video I did.
      ua-cam.com/video/Ru42mtceq9M/v-deo.html
      BTW I am a Christian and did worship for 28 years. Backing tracks are a great idea to help the leader with staffing (tracks can replace players if needed) and practice (dispense the backing tracks to allow musicians to practice at home exactly as the song will be played. Makes them more confident which really helps with worship).

      Hi, I just copy here, the hard-won knowledge I have put in the main section, although I know it is some time since you asked, it’s pretty relevant, probably forever, if you use ipads, take care, her’s a copy of my comment…Interesting and I liked the songs you guys put together. For those concerned about ipads ‘crashing’ I have an undocumented tip that if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense: keep about 75Gb ‘free’ space on your ipad. iOS/iPadOS is getting bigger and hungrier. On an iPhone the same ‘feature’ holds true but maybe ‘only’ 30Gb to 55Gb is needed free on the SSD. I have urged Apple on their forum to make some guidelines on this available but of course, Apple have made such a huge issue out of the amount of memory you buy as it has to be in-built at purchase, and is fixed forever on mobile devices of theirs.
      My concrete evidence for this, is that when using GarageBand on my iPad Pro 2, time and again, apps would develop terrible problems, which I then found reflected in reviews in the app store - but my experiments showed clearly that with only one change to your setup (removing data or apps until I got 55Gb minimum free on my iPad Pro 2 SSD), all problems with that app vanished. I left a review to this effect on the app store, and recommended to other users they check this aspect before blaming the Developer - this is not out of love for developers, only out of wanting to ‘bottom’ what the actual issue is. FYI it was the Moog Model15 apps that seemed to play up, but also a different Dev’s apps, AND indeed GarageBand itself.
      It appears AUV3 is very sensitive to a low amount of SSD being available (so-called ‘disk space’). Other apps included the Zeeon synth app, and all were by experienced respected developers - still no word from Apple. Bear in mind, the iOS only takes up about 10Gb or so officially? Some people might double that and think that’s all the space they need. It’s not. 55Gb MINIMUM must be free, that’s the borderline level on iPad Pro 2. After this, I bought a huge 14Gb backup drive, and a used iPad Pro M1 12.9” with all the bells and whistles (16Gb on board memory, SIM, and of course 2,000Gb of SSD!). Also FYI, it was pointless getting a lower spec than all-out, because they were the same price almost exactly - ie iPad Pro M1s with just 1Tb (half my iPad) were going for £1250 UKP. This is where Apple’s relentless advances now, help us, even at 6 months old, with 6 months of guarantee left, my latest, greatest iPad, was almost half price.
      That’s incredibly useful, because without that - and some back taxes! - I couldn’t have made the upgrade. Remember, MicroSoft corp recommend numbers like 200Gb or something be free on their OS, and I wouldn’t assume the differences in OS usage/needs for dropping files, and ‘working space’ for iOS/iPadOS would be much less, with similarly complex OS systems. The fact they are more compact than Microsoft is, is irrelevant - take it that the complexity of the tasks, and how they are accomplished, needs similar ‘open space’ for the apps to work with. And of course, Music is second only to Video, in how many aspects or threads, are juggled/plates spinning at the one time. Recap: 25 to 55Gb free on iPhones, 75Gb safely on iPads, and you won’t have any trouble from this aspect. Less, you can and will have features fail in apps, and glitches.
      All Apple have to do is raise their hand to admit to an absolutely necessary issue any OS has, but it would draw attention to that memory - it’s up to 100x more expensive remember than memory otherwise be bought. Carry on, and yes, I did use to be an IT man. Free other hot tip - do NOT copy a load of songs directly onto your Apple cloud drive, treating it like a ‘D’ drive in a Microsoft system, it ‘reacts’ by reflecting straight back, over the next couple of hours, all the data you just tried to shove up there. I’ve had a couple years of discussions on the forum about this, too - Apple to be fair, have quietly responded, without acknowledging it’s my feedback they listened too, by limiting this ‘mirroring’ of data copied to iCloud manually, to be 22% or so of your device’s overall SSD size - but hang on, I hear you say, if it’s only safe to keep about 75Gb ‘free’ on the iPad so apps run properly, and a fifth of say 512Gb on iPad’s SSD gets taken up by this weird iCloud kickback of data thing, that’s almost 200Gb taken up right there, with nothing useful?!
      Yes, so don’t do that thing I did, of copying a large quantity of songs, to the iCloud, because it does NOT remove it from your iPad, like if it were a ‘drive D’ on an MS PC say. It spends 2 hours mirroring it right back atcha. Don’t test it, I took that pain for you! Thanks for the vid, sorry to go on, it will save a lot of pain during somebody’s live show one day. I loved the songs, the guitar sounded great and the drums really popped. So long, from the slightly damp UK as we hit our Queen’s 70 year Jubilee celebration. I’m sure I have a small flag somewhere…

    Curious...How do you charge your iPad while using it with an interface? Also, If I just wanted to send stereo tracks to the front of the house and only have the click with the drummer, could I get away with a two channel interface? Route the click to the headphone output? Or would the app need to see at least 4 actual outputs in order to route the click separately from the stereo tracks? Sorry for the long question. I tried to ask/think of it as best as I could. lol

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  3 роки тому

      Yes indeed. Good news for you all the way around. First, about the charging with the audio interface attached, use this device. Works great. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W92Q529/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      Secondly, great news again. To use a 2 channel usb audio interface and the headphone out to route the click to the drummer is no problem at all! Just plug in your USB audio interface, and you will see the 2 channel stereo R/L (or output 1 and output 2) appear. Then, once you plug headphones into the headphone jack BOOM! 2 more channels show! Headphone Output 1 (left) and Headphone output 2 (right). So, route tracks for FOH to the audio interface output 1 (left) and 2 (right) and the click to one or both headphone outputs to send to the drummer. Remember, the headphone ports will not show up in Multitracker until you actually plug in the headphone cord or extension to the iPad headphone port.
      Another little trick (if you want to go further) is get a y cord for the headphone out and route the click to only one of the headphone ports, and you have another port to route to the FOH for, say, bass tracks! All with just a simple 2 channel audio interface and the headphone out!

      @@CaliforniaCreedence There's one more question I have concerning routing. Would I ( after setup from interface to multitrack ) be bale to take use my mixer as a headphone amp of sorts for the headphone input on my interface? Or would I need more outputs to begin with?
      My plan is to take the stereo outputs and patch them into inputs 1 & 2 of my mixer. I'd love to have the click go separately into input 3 of my mixer so I can have ' analog ' control of the volume as oppose to turning it down in multitracker.
      But I'm not sure if that's a possibility?

    • @CaliforniaCreedence

      @@Nivej8180 So, what you would need to do is buy one of these:
      www.amazon.com/CableCreation-Y-Cable-Splitter-Players-Amplifier/dp/B01JY2IA6A/ref=sr_1_21?dchild=1&keywords=1%2F8+stereo+headphone+mono+splitter&qid=1629152175&sr=8-21
      Plug the 1/8' end into your iPad headphone jack. This will give you outputs 3 (ipad headphone Left) and 4 (ipad headphone Right).
      So, you have 4 outputs. 1 and 2 would be your audio interface left and right. 3 and 4 would be your iPad headphone left and right, split into individual sends with the cable from Amazon.
      Direct the click to iPad headphone left (output 3 in this scenario) and plug it into channel 3 on your mixer. That would give you analog control over click independently. Your audio interface would just go into Channels 1 and 2 of your mixer. The headphone output of your audio interface would not be useful in this case. Remember, the iPad headphone out gives you the extra two channels in addition to your audio interface. I am not sure if I answered your question. Feel free to keep asking until I get it right. Thanks!

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  4 роки тому +2

      This is a long answer. Sorry. First, to announce the song, we type the name in ms word, slow the speed of the text to speech in ms word and resample it. The triggers or cues are at bandcues.com and scroll down to "Download your free cues pack". Another thing to try is karaoke-version.com, buy your song for 2.99, then download the tracks you want. Match the BPM in your DAW and drop the vocal cues and click track at the appropriate place. I am going to do a video on how to do all of this, but we are doing a couple shows first. At the 1 minute mark of this video, I display the finished version of the tracks, but before these were finished and exported, the tracks, cues and click were synced in Cubase (it looks a lot different than what you see at 1 minute in this video).

Thank you , very clear tutorial vídeo; I have downloaded it today, but I can’t make it run multi output, I Connect headphones output works perfect, I connect the interface vial USB with the original camera kit and works, but it has to be one of both, once I connect one, the other stops the sounds; I can see both are running well, but just one sounds. I assigned correctly both output to both tracks in the song, actually I made it work just fine for one time, but I can’t make it anymore, anyone has the same problem? Thanks!

      Hi Cardenas. I have done several tests and different scenarios, and it looks as if you cannot run both headphone and camera connector at the same time. I had the same experience. It worked once (heard signal and saw routing for both the USB Audio interface and Headphones one time and never again after that) which leads me to believe that it is not possible. If you want 4 separate outs, you have to get an audio interface with 4 outputs, it looks like. Sorry!

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  4 роки тому

      Yes. You conntect via iTunes app for windows. In iTunes you will see an icon of an iPad. Click on it. On the left, click file sharing, click on multitracker, a list of files may appear in the box on the right. Open another file explorer window and browse for the folder with your tracks. Drag that folder into the box on the right in itunes. Wait a couple minutes to allow the files to transfer. You will see the folder in that right side pane in a few minutes (when you highlighted multitracker in itunes) The files have been transferred to your iPad. To add them in multitracker, go to the file manager menu in MT, make a folder with the song name, select import, then select On My iPad, then Multitracker, find the folder you dragged and dropped from your pc and add the files. Thats it! You can do all of this while the iPad is still connected to itunes. So you can transfer as many folders you want for that iTunes session.

    Great Video Thanks Can i make locators (verse,chorus...) in Multitracker What is the ideal configuration on the ipad to work live with audio files?

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  4 роки тому +1

      This is a "one shot" player. Although it is very powerful in delivering multitracks to an audio interface with multi outputs, it does not have the capabilities of Ableton (which I have been using since 2014 for backing tracks). Loop locators or verse/chorus locators are not a part of this app. The best setup for this app is at least a 4 output audio interface (cheap one is fine). Ipad sees the Presonus 44VSL, Behringer Uphoria interfaces, Soundcraft 24 Track mixer with an audio interface, Steinberg UR28M interface, even the audio interface in keyboards like the Yamaha Montage, pretty much whatever. Very powerful. I prefer multitracks at .wav files at 44.1 khz at 24 bit depth (a common resolution from ProTools, which I use, as well as, Cubase Pro 10.5). You can use Mp3's to save space, though, and that works fine. The routing for 4 outs would be outs 1 and 2 = R/L to the house, out 3 is if you have bass tracks (multitracker allows multi-routing), out 4 is for the click and vocal cues sent to a muted channel on the mixer and routed to in-ear monitor aux sends set to PreFader so that the click is in the ears but not in the house. Not sure if that helps. Thanks for the positive feedback!

      @@quimzealex9629 Glad I can help. The iPad you are looking at in this video is our main performance iPad, the iPad Air First Gen (A7 64bit CPU and 1gb RAM. I have 128gb storage because I like to use .wav files). Our backup iPad is a newer iPad 10.2 with the A10 processor. Truthfully, Multitracker runs very lean and can easily run on an iPad Air First Gen (I wouldn't go older than that). iPad Air first gen is about 170 to 210 on ebay for one with 128gb storage. The new iPad 10.2 outperforms my 10.2 that I bought in April of 2020. The new 10.2 is superior as it uses the A12 cpu. Yes, it is a lofty 429.00 for the 128gb version (new). Our primary iPad for all shows is the iPad Air first gen and it experiences no resource overload. As I said, Multitracker is extremely resource lean for all that it does. If you can find a good deal on any iPad between those versions (Air 1st gen to the present), go for it. Just make sure to get the 128gb version. If you change your mind and want to use .wav files because mP3's don't sound as good (and you wanted to save a few bucks and got a 32 or 64gb version), you will regret not getting the 128gb storage.
