I've got the new Yikong to review which is basically a Patrol, but it's a lexan body and doesn't look great tbh. We need a nice hardbody. 👍😎
@@DoURC FCX10 is such a mega platform, be cool if there were aftermarket body options, really the only (also dont ship to NZ) reason I didn't jump on it when released. I'm not coming to EAST without a built 1/10...gotta be the right one tho
@hellcat3522 I mean you could make any body fit really if the wheelbase is right. Maybe use magnet mounts. 👍

Love your list ...at the moment I can't afford a 1/10 but love your fms choices .On the 124 fms Mercedes Unimog I bought mine after seeing your build video, and I'm very happy with it ,so thank you for your excellent channel content 👍.....Harry

You nailed it! 🎉 I have looked those Toyotas, Landys, and K10 to build "olde banger" with stock wheels and added weight (I have willys 1/12 and boy, weight adds realism!) one other car could be suzuki samurai sj410, but modded like "standard" class In off road events... Thanks!

The TRX4 still making it to your list after all these years proves something too. I think it’s capability just stopped surprising you. For me, it is my only rig and although i have been in doubt to buy a second rig, and i am aware that there are better performers now, i don’t think there is one that would really blow my defender away.

Yeah it's still a great rig, it was just unfortunate I had some issues with it this year. It's the drive train noise which is really spoiling it for me atm, it sounds awful. I've tried loads to sort it, but will keep trying this year. 👍

Yes hopefully I went for the rc4wd black hawk. Looks pretty awesome but will have to wait and see.
Love to hear about what people actually take with them when they go out driving! Yours and crawlstockrc's build-off on the fcx24 unimog was the tipping point for me to actually order one myself, i have had my eye on it since it was released but never pulled the trigger and now i have about 5 projects of aesthetic customization started and i can't choose which one to actually go with, its such a fun little truck!
Ah excellent, they're great little trucks aren't they. Lots of options for builds. I like that they're not a proper 24th scale, so a decent size to work with. 👍
Do you bring multiple batteries when out trailing?
When I go to events yeah. When I'm just trailing with 1 rig, I normally use something like a 5000mah lipo, which gives me plenty of run time. 👍
fcx18 is an awesome rig.

You can buy them already done from Fair RC with the camper bed, or buy the bed separately to build it yourself.
It's really easy to swap over, uses all the same mounting points as stock rear bed. 👍
I own a TRX4 Bronco 79´ with injora rims, Injora Mud Claws tires, Injora skid plates, Injora shock absorber/springs and ESS Dual Sound. The second one is the Amewi Caballo with the same Injora parts like the Bronco and ESS Dual Sound, but the Caballo gets the Fusion SE and other Tires from RunUp. And my third one is the TF2 Toyota Pick Up 1982 😁. I will do in time the Chino Mod and the O-Ring Mod. When it does not work I will change on a link suspension!

I'd say just take it easy and watch lots of videos on mods and upgrades etc to see what you like.

The Unimogs are great rigs, my favourite FCX24 model. Would be awesome if FMS did a hardbody tenth scale Unimog. 👍😎
Re the fj40 I would be happier if they just make an update to it with a two speed, brushless, a different color, like red say. One that I’ve been eyeing for a while is their 1/6 Jimny which actually has a two speed and leafs as well so lifting it is as simple as flipping the brackets. I’ve enjoyed seeing what folks have turned that one into. The one thing I don’t like about the fj40 tho is that the front axle is slightly too far back as is. My favorite aesthetic thing on the real one is the way the front axle is just a bit forward so the tire’s leading edge is just ahead of the grill like it also is on early jeeps. I’m told that can be corrected with changed out links and whatever but I haven’t seen much of a consensus on what to buy for that. The problem is even worse when you convert the fj40 to leafs. Makes me scream internally.
I did see some folks convert the big Jimny to links which was cool at least.
Yeah I love the Jimny builds. It's an ugly rig stock imo, but can look awesome once modified. It doesn't have a 2 speed though, it's basically the same as the Willy's Jeep, just with leaf springs. 👍
A lot of people fit AR44 axles to the Jimny for the link conversion and better axles with upgrades. 👍
for cristmas I got a Traxxas trx4m with the ford f150 body in black and I love it. it was my first ever rc crawler. I have not been able to modify it yet but still really like it. I also find your videos very helpful and fun

There is a lot to be said about a ride that feels a little real, that isn't too easy. I love the fms fcx24 K5. I pimped it out, and I love the hard body on it. Sure, top heavy, but fun. I don't want something that performs better. Better performance equals boring. The challenge is the fun.
Yeah, that's obe of the things I love about the RC4WD, it's a very different driving experience and I find it really enjoyable. I much prefer a hardbody, it's a worthwhile sacrifice imo for a bit of performance. 👍

and I have a question about FMS 1/24 is the FMS k5 blazer really 1/24 because it seems bigger than other 1/24 trucks. What do you think? And the same thing about 1-10 ? Thanks
@lionelfr No, the FCX24's are closer to 1/18 scale really.
The FCX10 is similar size to others 1/10 scales, like Traxxas etc. 👍
Okay and do you think there is a reason for this? They also produced 1/24 M FCX which may be more real 1/24 scales !

I agree, I absolutely love the fj40. The only reason I haven't gotten one is because of the chassis. Would love to see more vehicles on the fcx10 chassis. I'm currently in the market for another 10 scale so I have enough not run with my nephews. I'd love it if they came out with another body for the fcx10 with portals.
Yeah, unfortunately upgrade options for the FJ40 Chassis are limited, although you can swap over to AR44/45 axles.
Yeah more body options on the FCX10 would be great. You can swap the LC80 over to the K5 chassis if you get the mounting system too. 👍
I want to get an Axial Base Camp and TRX4 Sport soon, see what they're like too. 👍

🤣 Yeah I have seen it. Be interesting to see how it could compete with the brushless TRX4. My only concern would be it's an outrunner tbh, I'd prefer a sealed can like Fusion for proper mud fun. 👍

I don't sorry. The bumper I bought ages ago for an LC80 build, if you search RC LC80 upgrades on Aliexpress it should come up. The roof rack I think I got from Modelsport. Been a while sorry! 😬

Try to spray some wd40 oil to engine bearings and driveshafts, plus portal bearings maybe this will help you😊

I've done a full rebuild on it with all new bearings, tried white marine grease, silicone spray, changed the drive shafts, new gearbox, adjusted the gear mesh etc. I think I'm going to try some different grease and see if there's one that helps. Seen a lot of people talking about a green grease I may try.

I just can't find justification in spending $500+ for an rc4wd for basically a barebones chassis and a nice hardbody. That's really all your laying for is the body.
Yeah they are very expensive. The chassis is pretty decent though. All I changed on mine initially was the radio gear and it was much nicer. Then I fitted a Fusion SE as the 540 motor didn't have enough punch.
If you're not fussed on a leaf spring chassis you can buy the bodies separately, or go for something like a Team Raffee body instead. 👍
