The most expressive gurdy I've heard - really catapults it into a beautiful sounding stringed instrument. As a novice I would guess this completely changes the role.
Oh thank you so much, I am happy to hear that. You are completely right. Wolfgangs new dynamics are a game changer. They open so much more possibilities, which were highly needed for this instrument.
Awesome, dude! Please let me try next time we meet :D I'll buy some curry as a retribution xD Peter Streng added some similar mechanism, I think, with a bar you can push to lower the wheel. Guilhem Desq put the same kind of "pressure bar" on his own gurdy, didn't he?
Hehe, just come over and I'll let you have a spin. ;) Yes, Peter Streng has a similar system, which is being used by pushing the keybox lid. I think both systems have their ups and downs and it's just up to personal preference. :)
@@Ron-xh5fz As someone who struggles with the basics, I like the idea of not giving my right hand even more delicate coordination to do. Outsourcing this task to the left thumb (as Peter Strengs design does) seems more managable for me. But then again, dynamic gurdies are aimed at the top players not plebs like me. I'll let you know which one I acutally prefere... if I ever reach that level and get my hands on both designs ^^
Thank you so much. I might ask you to reach out to Wolfgang for that question, as prices tend to change. Just write him an email: atelier@weichselbaumer.cc
Of course it's a revolution. The wheel goes round and round.
