We survive relegation by getting promoted again.
Real!
Totally agree. Rico is on loan, so he'll probably be going back to Villa unless they want him to get more competitive match time, which I hope they do and Louie Barry too
Hi Sam - County fan here. Excellent analysis and impressive knowledge of players across the leagues.
You were a little unfair on Taylor McMahon. He arrived last summer under the Emerging Talents Programme, an 18 year old left sided centre back, previously with Stoke City. I'm sure he was not expected to get anywhere near the first team and he is presumably "one for the future" depending on how he progresses.
Your view of players to be released and retained is probably as best as anyone could do and I can understand the rationale behind each one. I am rather sentimental and don't like to see any players leave but it's a ruthless world and Challinor has to be ruthless to make sure he has a squad that can make us competitive at the higher level.
As for new signings I have never even heard of most of your selection!! I'll make a note of them and see whether any come to fruition.
Having vowed to see us in the Championship in seven years and achieved two steps along that road, I can't believe that the owner is not going to provide a generous budget for player acquisitions and I expect us to get in the play offs or be pretty near.
It's a shame that you are doomed, it seems, to bring your expertise to bear on a perpetually struggling club, nowhere near their potential. Your ground is the envy of all league 1 and 2 clubs, as is your fanbase. It's got to be below par off field personnel making questionable decisions leading to a struggling team. I sincerely hope this gets rectified somehow and you see some sustained progress soon.
I'm sure fans of other clubs appreciate your excellent appraisal of their club. Not only a lot of hard work, but allied to your extensive knowledge. My, metaphoric, hat off to you sir!!

WEDNESDAY FAN LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING STOCKPORT NEXT SEASON.
The feeling's mutual 👍
Love the video, great to see we are getting the appreciation we deserve. Also i have no idea who Taylor McMahon is 😂 i don’t think he’s played a game this season and haven’t heard anything about him from the club, Is he even a person 😂 idk but great video mate really enjoyed 👍
Next season i just hope we finsh above Wrexham and Mansfield,
Good Luck!👏🏼
Problem with these vids is just going off stats. Kane isn't proper match fit but looks quality, Rico Richards has looked good. Myles is an excellent utility player for us and has had lots of injuries this season. I'd keep all 3 and probably Bristow too.
Mid table would be great start for me!
Good work SHD, can see you put the time/effort in to this and
I’m starting to think you’re a secret County fan!
(No shame in that).
Next season is really a transition season. While the owner seeks Championship football, from having a big budget in L2 to having an average budget in L1, becoming competitive and established at the new level seems a realistic aim next season. I expect a turnover of players with a general move towards those who might grow from here with the club. Mid table would be good and maybe a little run in a cup.
In terms of stats, we had a ridiculous list of injuries this season across the squad so very few were available for most of it. Hence very little can be ascertained from appearance stats this time around. It also explains why the likes of Cass, Kane and Bristow were brought in, without having played for months in some cases, so they too were in a difficult position to get up to speed.
I’d love to see you do a Notts County one. Maybe title it ‘players to get Notts promoted’ we definitely need a rebuild
The preparation for that video is already on the way. ⚠️Spoiler, there’s a lot of defenders needed😂
I can’t wait for this 🤣
Much like Wrexham, both have an aging squad. Key players for port need younger alternates. I’d say Stockport finish mid table. 13-17? It all depends on signing the right players.
There's also a lot of youth in the squad, Pye, Stretton, Rydel, Bailey and Olaofe, it's a really good mix.
Rob Apter and Jayden Fevrier would be my two preferred signings.
Great job!
Thank you!🙏
County aiming for the top once again
🙌🏻
Cody Johnson still contracted. No clue who Taylor Mc is though
👍👌
excellent and knowledgeable....Thanks
Well researched but missed the target on one or two points.
i) A number of the fringe players you mentioned were brought in - often at short notice - to cover an unprecedented catalogue of long-term injuries; that’s all they were, cover.
ii) It’s Ben *Hinchliffe* not Hinchcliffe; what is it with UA-camrs who simply can’t get his name right, even those like yourself who are better than most; likely golden glove this season and an astonishing story from NLN to League 1 breaking almost every County goalkeeping record on the way.
iii) You’ve missed the point about County’s recruitment over the last four years and the signings you suggested were way off the mark; the players brought in were never just about promotion, but about the next promotion as well - Sarcevic (pronounced correctly ‘Sars-e-vik), Madden, Powell, Olaofe, and others.
Bradford City might look at this model to their advantage and learn.
Wrexham to a degree have done like County, though have actually lost out to County more than once over the past three or four seasons in player chases (Nick Powell); the Vita properties (County owner’s company) in central Manchester are a big enticement and makes playing for Stockport County very attractive (Search Vita Living in Circle Square for example).
The club’s infra-structure in every respect is some way in advance of their position in the pyramid.
iv) If you check out the County forum, there’s a thread about players’ contracts - not really an issue (though Ethan Pye being poached much higher is the only real potential knock back).
v) County (Wrexham as well) surviving is not the issue, it’s about how high they will finish in League 1; both will do well.
Enjoyed your posts throughout the season, but feel for you about the under-achievement and frustrations you’ve endured with your team; not sure I can say at the moment it’s clear things will be better next season, but I hope so.
Big up Stockport
Cody Johnson still at club, out on loan. Big future
I'm predicting 8th next season.
Be a great finish that!
Up the Stockport ❤
i amreally glad i do not work for you, ruthless!
Stockport 💪🏼
Will just be happy with mid table maybe play off push
Would be a brilliant first season back in league one!
@@SHD07 Yeah just hope we bring in some of the players you suggested and hope Hinchliffe and Madden sign new contracts
You’re in safe hands, I’m sure you’ll be fine
@@SHD07 hope so Challinor the best manager in the league for me
@elliswood9120 I’d argue Scott Lindsay at Crawley but Challinor is certainly up there!
I think Stockport will have enough to stay up.
DC as said that this group will be broken up .Croasdale will leave just had hernia opp will leave Macually Southam Hayles fantastic player fans favourite but injury prone so will leave Streeton will stay
FACTS!
It’s amazing how many players won’t be under contract after the end of the season. This could really crush a team that’s doing as well as Stockport has done the last few years.
They’ve got it ‘right’ for years, I’m sure they’ll be just fine.
simple ..........they win it !
Tbf😂😂
hello mush
Stockport will finish between 14th-18th imo.
👍👌
Imo you're talking jackanory
theyll finish 14th
👍👌
