Watching from N.C. I’m from Detroit and I say I miss the snow until I see a video like this and I don’t really miss it anymore! Cool video thanks for sharing
I'm 71 years old and grew up next to the train yard in Stevens Point WI. Love the trains. My dad was a logger near Iron River before I was born and we would come back up there every summer for vacation. Logging and trains are in my blood. I enjoy your videos very much. Thanks
Do what makes you happy man, forget the haters, ive loved train's since i was a kid,iam 62 now, still love watching them, big giant self propelled machines moving across the land day and night, awesome.
As an EMD lover, the sound of those two non-turbo locomotives was music to my ears. Anytime an F unit is in daily service is a great thing. Keep the great videos coming.
I think you are doing a good job, Keep up the good work. Remember this always---- you have not become someone until you have pissed someone off and have haters, the people in this world go out of their way to hate what they wish they could do!
A retired SP conductor here, haven't seen any snow or rails for the last 12 years as I'm retired and watching from The Philippines! Great to hear the horns, see the guys working and appreciating your efforts, thanks so much!
😀❤️🙏👍 I'll say thanks for that video Jason that was a good one I'll just say there some people that don't know how to respect one another out there and they're going to always whether it's you or me they're always going to dislike some something about someone out there I know I like it I think your videos are good I'll watch them again sometime real soon thank you God bless.
It's always a treat, to see snowplows in action. Their are many types of plows. They can be found on many railroads. Sometimes, you can catch them plowing in the country. And they plow with speed. Snow flies everywhere. Very cool (pun intended).
I like the F units too. When I hired out on the Texas & Pacific in New Orleans we still had some F-7s and I was able to run them until they were retired. With our only hill on our division being the Huey P. Long Bridge over the Mississippi River just up river from New Orleans, we had the oldest and lowest horsepower engines on this end of the railroad. I liked being higher above the rails in the F-7s than we were in the GP 7s & 9s. We did get the bigger engines down this way too but they were usually sent back north and west. Even on the run through trains they would take the smaller engines off in Alexandria and put the SD-40s and U-30on to go north and west.
The haters hate themselves more than they hate you. Your videos are so great. Keep em coming. Snow plow train was a nice surprise when yesterday you thought you weren't gonna be able to catch it. So glad you did. Have a great weekend. NASCAR for us this weekend.
I am a Brit living north of Barcelona, Spain, Very much a British heritage steam fan but have recently extended my horizons into North America/Canada. A very good video. Ignore the negatives, stay positive and keep up the good work. Many thanks. Oh, I'm 75 by the way. Cheers for now. Robert
If you were driving along and didnt know this was out here you could lose control of your car as this orange/brown monster looms at you. Excellent work at Amasa...modern day Currier & Ives with the big snowflakes depot and church. When it goes past the grade crossing signals and the arms fold in and out it's as if it's saying "Excuse me. Coming thru" Excellent job of recording a rarity in the woods. .and Jason did all the driving!
I’ve never seen snow plowed by a train. Especially a custom train car with a built in plow . To see it in action is awesome. Thank you for your time and patience to film this.
Awesome Video Jason and Thank You for taking the time to Drive in BAD Road's to Film this Video for All of Us to See again Thank You Appreciate your Time Kenny Deltona Florida Lived in Monroe Michigan for 46yrs Born in MI and moved to Florida for the Weather just a few years ago
Really nice video. You are in beautiful country. I’m in Florida so I can say that. This plow is something I’ve never seen before. Sure would hate for that machine to plow across the end of my driveway. PS. Mom grew up in Flint. I love your accent. I lived in central Indiana. We liked going up to Flint, Alpena, Mackinac. Beautiful state. Hey!! Don’t mind the haters. They’re jealous because they can’t do what you’re doing, can’t live your life. Have a great day!!!
Good for you. Rise above the complainers. They are just jealous of your following. We don’t see this action to often in dallas Texas!! Thank you Jason Keep up the good work...
Hi Jason. Nice video. I'm from Toledo, Ohio. My wife & I like going to the Keweenaw but I had a major stroke 5 years ago and although I made a pretty good recovery I had to retire and pay through the nose for insurance on my wife. She will be eligible for Medicare later this year so maybe then we will have the funds to get back to the UP. You do not know how much your videos brighten up our day! Thanks.
Thank you for posting and great footage. I'm watching from historic Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. I'm about 400' from a crossing and watch the trains when they go through, the sound of the train whistle touches my heart of old time America, it's a great feeling.
Hey Jason, just watching your most recent video down here in Beavercreek, Ohio. I love the snow and even to drive in it doesn’t bother me. People down here in Southwest Ohio freak out just seeing a couple inches of snow and bitch about it. My wife was raised in a small town just outside Buffalo, New York and just shakes her head and laughs every time the weather people make such a big deal about a couple inches of snow. Love watching the trains getting around on the rails up there no matter how much snow there may be. People up there in the “UP” just learn to live with it and get on with life. Just keep those great videos coming!
Thanks for sharing! Went to school one year at Interlochen Arts Academy up by Traverse City (1978-1979), then met my now wife of 39 yrs in Hillsdale in 1980. Lived in Hillsdale from 1993-1996. Otherwise lifelong Georgia resident- north and west Metro Atlanta - norm & raised!
watching from toronto canada...love your vids man !!! they are truly for the train lover without being too ttoo technical !!! some of them make you feel stupid because you don"t know exactly what all the features of a particular locomotive is , just from a bunch of numbers and letters....( no i don"t have thousands of them memorized.....God bless you if you do ,!!!) and for those FB people...tell them to FO.and keep up the good work !!!!
Excellent video, Jason! Thanks! In the first crossing you can actually see the flanger blade drop down and start plowing snow after the crossing. And you show the channels the flanger makes after the train clears.
Keep up the good work... I love the Short-line Railroads video. OSR ( Ontario Southland Railway ) west of Toronto, is my favourite here in Ontario. I'm a hour or so, just north of Toronto. And I enjoy the hard work you do to promote the E&SL Railway. From what I've seen you have some good rapport with some workers there and others, well there are always sour grapes somewhere. Just keep your distances from the trains, especially when people cut in front of the train for your safety. and wear a Hi-Vis ( Their not expensive and do save lives ) to let the rail-guys know your there. Get on their good side and you could catch a ride at some point. Not always, but it is possible. Be Safe out there chasing these behemoths anytime, or in the snowy rainy days, always. Don't worry about the nay-sayers, learn from what they may say, that is actually good ideas or even bad ones.
Very nice! Beautiful country there, and some nice, deep snow. We're expecting upwards of 8 inches this weekend here in Portage, WI. That'll keep CP and the BNSF boys on their toes.
Jayson loved the video from Massachusetts Just before the Cape. The Mass Coastal railroad runs some really old restored engines too. They had an Alcoa just as old as the one you have from the Escanaba & lake superior. It finally died a few years ago.
Hello Jason. I just discovered your videos and I love them. I am a 64 year old Army veteran who grew up in Iron Mountain. I currently live in Erwin Tennessee which is an important railroad town. They have a train car repair facility here for the Clinchfield line.
Hello Jason.. Enjoy your videos. Like the snowplow video. Don't worry I'm not a troll. I just like to watch other people's good railroad videos. Thanks for getting out there to catch a train or two for us. It's nice to see a different perspective on a different short line. Like the commentaries. . Lindsey, South of Harrisburg, PA
The train coming to Amasa is cool. It used to run through twice a day, nearly 7 days a week. I sure do miss the train drink happy hour specials at the Amasa Hotel!
Enjoyed your great efforts. Lots of travel, time and waiting patiently so we could see the highlights of the experience. Very cool. Thanks for a fun time.
Awesome video, thanks Jason ! Just about time we get some new winter plow videos on the tube. Watching from Denmark ... No snow - but a rainstorm is coming up sunday.

Pretty neat, going through the towns have to slow down, wonder why the four trailing empty cars ?

In Eagle Harbor Mich but live in Liberty Park - Birmingham - know exactly where this train runs
