Jan, as an electrical contractor I loved to see the wall of Square D disconnects. I only use Square D products. The drone footage was really great. Thanks again for another look into your work on the farm.
As usual, I am amazed at the wide range of tasks you perform from the simple to the complex, from shoveling muck, repairing a tractor to medicating your herd. And you do all of this in a range of weather conditions that I am completely unfamiliar with!
Great video, as usual. You are so laid back and you always have a smile on your face. Whatever comes along, you handle it.......no negativity!! VERY refreshing!! Many in the U.S. are negative and constantly whining about their situation instead of taking care of it.
Wow that looks cold! We had a week of temps around zero here in Missouri and it was not fun. Pouring 700 head in one day is definitely a solid day! Really surprised you guys didn't put your corral under roof, we have 5 corrals and have some sort of shelter for each of them. Makes life a lot easier. The drone footage came out awesome 👌.
I am blown away on how good your family takes care of your farm. The drone shots are awesome too. Animal Activists just need to watch your videos to get drone footage. 👍
I just wanted to comment, recognize and congratulate your farming operations. It takes decades of hard work, having a long term goal, being willing to take on modernizations, building a good work force and constantly keep solving problems to have an operation like what you are showing. Congratulations on all that has been accomplished.
In the United States, we call drenching when you administer a liquid orally via a drenching syringe. As in this video, we call pour-on when you administer a liquid along the top line.
Thanks for another interesting video. The narrative is again very interesting supported by great photography and drone work. The location is certainly different from our Australian east coast.
The application gun looks pretty cool - like how it adjusts easily for size. Glad you and Dad are handy with the bucket loader and tools to get those vents closed - there would a whole lot more things frozen it not! Good job.
Jan, you said about the cattle outside are ok with plenty dry bedding- and obviously plenty of food when it's cold as I guess appetite increases to keep warmer- but what about dry cows outside- do any ever get teats with frost bite? Im UK, but in 1995 I went a trip to Wisconsin and saw some of the famous herds over there- calves in hutches out side with half an ear due to frost bite. Most places still had cows in tied barns, milked where they stood etc then. Only saw 1 forward place with 900 cows in cubicles, but they had the occasional lost teat. No where near the set up you have.
I live in northern IL and the last time it got cold enough to do that here was a couple of years ago. (-20F) It worked at that temp also. Fun fact: -40F and -40C are the same temperature.
@@tiffanyparrott6799 I know. It hadn't got that cold in like 30 years. I thought, "Wonder if it's cold enough to try the hot water trick?" Sure enough ...
Very much enjoy your videos! Your farm is fabulous and so well done, farming sure has come a long way for the better. You're cute af and are doing a great job farming and shooting videos, keep up the great work, I'm hooked!
Great video mate ,today where I live in Australia it was only thirty two degrees ,quite mild for the start of summer. We are lucky enough to live at mudjimba beach Queensland ,so even on our hottest days ,late thirty's early forty's you can usually get cool in the surf (when there's no sharks )anyway .So for someone like me that's never even seen snow how do you handle the freezing temperatures and how do you keep warm while working.Cheers from down under.
U young man are extremely intelligent u have a great head on ur shoulders ur hard working not afraid to get dirty and work keep up the great work ur videos r the very best on farming
Born and raised on a dairy farm until I was 18. Left the farm for some years and now we only have beef cattle. It's amazing to me how you walk right behind those dairy cows (like I used to do). I'd never do that with beef cattle. I'd have a broken leg in 10 minutes. They kick like crazy.
Love the new drone shots. You have such a great artistic eye for framing shots like when you captured that sunrise as your drone rose over the barn a few videos back. Love the way you edit your videos.
Hey Jan just wondering how many times do you get kicked at when using pour on drench particularly but the younger stock. We run ours down a race to do all that sort of stuff. Also how do there feet handle walking around in the snow all the time are they harden by it. Oh and hello 👋 from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺😊
"Everybody gets a pour" When you first said that I thought you were talking about shots of whiskey, I was thinking I'll take a heavy pour please. Great video, love the new drone shots.
Jan, didn't you had that same problem last year? With those Air Units? I seem to remember that you had something going on with them last fall/winter.. ? 🤔 I could be totally wrong.. And the Drone does a superb job! In my opinion nothing wrong and it showed a beautiful snowy scenery, so successful buy! 👌
Jan, again a very nice video. I love it that you got a new drone, and learned a lot today. It is not that cold here in the Netherlands, it is +12 C . Groeten uit Nederland!
Stay warm up there in Wisconsin. I watch videos from Duluth harbor. Brrrrrr it looks cold. I am in the banana belt called Oakville Ontario. We got our first snow Christmas Eve but it has all melted now.
We call it pour on or back liner if it goes down the throat it’s drench keep up the great videos I would rather work in our heat than the cold weather you blokes put up with cheers
Another awesome video I always watch to the end ... I love the intro the music and the drone shot most other videos intros get repetitive so I bypass them ...I look forward to your s...good job
Theres never a dull day on the farm. If I were to build or own a dairy you would be the 1st person I would ask to be the manager and over see everything. Happy Thanksgiving Jon.
Got good look at 605 (mostly white cow) at the water bowl when Jan started telling us about the inlets. Lets make 605 famous, she's easy to spot and a friendly cow.
It’s funny you said they call it drenching in Australia. I’m watching an old show on the Internet based on a farm in Australia. The first time they mentioned drenching I had to look up what it was.
Hi yahn have you ever take avocation or you just don't have the time I just love to watch your video's I Will set and watch every day big up you and family on the farm well done farm very clean and tidy take care God bless you family in Jesus name.
It's weird to see that much snow so early. Where I live, we usually only see snow in December, January, February. Sometimes in March. I don't think I'd like that much winter.
How does sprinkling a bit of that liquid on the backs of the cows do the job? What if there are critters below that area..say, on the belly or the legs? How does the liquid on the back get to those critters?

The temps are brutal. You’ve got a great attitude toward dealing with all the challenges.
@saskdutchkid correct in Australia we will often call it a pour on drench - generally speaking a drench often refers to an oral application.
Love your videos man . Im a dairy farmer myself from Ireland nice to see the different types of farming . Keep up the good work
I'm from Ireland to well northern ireland
Hello Ireland !!
Great job buddy. Always interesting and you do a great job in front and behind of the camera. You have a good “cow side” manner.
I was thinking that you must of gotten a new drone. Great video of your farm. Enjoying your videos as always Jan 😊🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄👍🏻
Wow we don't get it as cold in Scotland. Glad Jan you could close the inlets and protect the water system from freezing up. Great video Jan
I wondered if you had gotten a new drone at the beginning. I'm glad because I so love the view of your farm. Thank you Jan😜

Have you ever thrown a mug of hot water in the air to show how cold it is as you say its -25°c ? Great video's as usual 👏
That only works good at -40C/colder, which it does get here and there.

It works by diffusion, the same way that a flea/tick collar protects the entire cat or dog.

Probably some kind of relay or solenoid stopping the vent system.
