Great information! This is what I've been telling my viewers for a while. Having more transparent transparents, and more opaque opaques makes me happy 👌
great stuff as a newbie to airbrushing these new vids are a godsend, Is there a basic instructions for candy02 as I just got some to try as the finish is fantastic?

Chris, great video, watched it a few times to make sure I've retained the info! Thanks for that! I do have a question, following your advice to me in a comment, I have bought some of the New Wicked Opaque Colors and I love them. I'm painting on heavy card stock paper from an art supply house and I've had great results using Createx paints on that material. But I am doing a painting and I wanted the background to be a gloss black, I painted the background gloss black first to allow my painting to 'stand out' from the background and I'm happy with the results so far, but I have some overspray on the black and intend to do another light coat to fix that issue. Question I have is, do I need to scuff the gloss black (it's several days since applied) to re-coat or can I just apply another coat without scuffing. Thanks for your excellent video's on the Createx line of paints, they are much appreciated!
Hello. Scuffing is generally not required when applying Createx paints over one another. Don't scuff, but allow for extended drying time. If in doubt, another method would be to first apply a coat of AutoBorne 6000 Transparent Sealer to "lock in" the paint underneath, and provide a well-adhered ground-coat over which any Createx paint can be applied without having to scuff. thank you. www.autoborne.com.
@@CreatexColors Thanks, that answered my question. All I use is Createx and have always had great success with them, but the gloss paints sort of threw me. I love the gloss paints, great coverage great color and easy to use. But being so glossy I was afraid the paints applied over it would not adhere properly. Thanks again for clearing this up for me and saving me a lot of work lost!
I love Createx!! But please, please bring back the Sparklescent line.I can find a few color's still out there but not all of them. I use them on a lot of different project's,from painting model's to canvas as they are perfect for many insect's.

4050 UVLS Gloss Clear is an excellent adhesive coating, as is AutoBorne 6000 Transparent Sealer. Either of these could be first applied, followed by paint. Test adhesion first before the actual paintjob. Thank you. autoborne.com/adhesive-clears

Hello Chris, I just repainted my fibreglass bodied Motorhome with an automotive paint ( no clear coat yet ) I was wondering what you would recommend I use to add some ghost flames and such on top of the new paint and what would you finish the whole thing with as far as a clearcoat that isn't glossy as the fibreglass is very bumpy and rough. Thanks for your time
Great video Chris - really helpful thanks. 2 Questions: 1) Is there a 'shelf-life' of your Wicked paints once the seal is broken on a fresh bottle? 2) What's the min ambient air temp for spraying out of the bottle without reduction - and would reduction help in lower temps? Cheers.
Createx paints can last several years after opening provided they're capped air-tight unless pouring paint from the bottle, and stored in a cool, dry environment away from direct light. We set our drying times at 70 deg.F and do not recommend painting in temperatures less than 60 deg.F. Thank you.
I have a question for painting fishing rod with createx line of paints. Will the paints stay on the rods when the poles bend like they do. Will any of the clears work as well on fishing rods. Thanks for any help.
Yes, Createx Airbrush Colors and Wicked Colors can be used for a durable finish on a flexible, fishing rod. 1) Start with 6000 AutoBorne Transparent Sealer, or 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear, 2) apply Wicked Colors / Createx airbrush Colors. Mix all colors with 4030 Balancing Clear or 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear 10% per volume, then thin 10% - 25% with 4011 Reducer, createxcolors.com/reducers-additives/mixing-clears. After colors have thoroughly dried, top-coat with a catalyzed (2k) urethane or epoxy clear. For more, please refer to the Hard-Surface Application Guide and tech sheets at www.creatextech.com. Thank you.
I'm confused about what line to choose for model kits (small tip and low pressure), since Airbrush, Wicked and Illustration all have opaque paints. Wicked has better adhesion to plastics, but Illustration is better suited for smaller tips and lower pressures? Or should I just go for the standard Createx Airbrush opaques and thin them down for the small tip? If I used a primer, what would you recommend? And does Createx offer a primer that preserves fine detail of a scale model? (Because from my understanding, the AutoBorne Sealers are intended to fill in the gaps in order to get a smoother surface, and the Neutral Grays are transparent, so neither can be used as a primer for model kits.) Thanks in advance for your answer. :)
Try Wicked Colors, and for optimum adhesion add ~ 10% - 20% 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear to the paint. Also, AutoBorne Sealer is an excellent ground coat with excellent adhesion direct to plastic, www.autoborne.com. Thank you.
Hey Chris! Great informative vid man. Reducer question if you could please... got my start buying from LHS here in SE MI that didn’t have any 4011 but did have the older 4012. I’ll be doing artwork for fun and rc bodies hopefully for supplemental income. Can the 4012 still hold up to the 4011’s performance? Or is it advisable to scrap the 4012 and just order 4011? I’ll make the switch once the 4012 is gone if the 4012 is still a viable option??? Thanks so much for the info! Greatly appreciated! Jimmy
Beginning in 2002, we started recommending 4011 Reducer as our goto thinner due to better performance, especially with our candy2o and urethane-resin products such as 4030 Balancing Clear and UVLS Clears, and due to changes in toxicology regulations. 4012 Reducer can be made to work like 4011 Reducer by mixing it 1:1 with distilled (bottled) water, so definitely use up the 4012 you have. After, switching to 4011 Reducer is recommended. Thank you.
Very interested in your products. I am repainting the VW bus shown on my profile picture. The colors are medium gloss now. I would like to have the same colors but with a little candy or flakes. Do you have anything for thoese colors? Thanks, love the channel, a lot of great info
For candy colors, please see our line of candy2o, www.candy2o.com. For pearl-flakes, Wicked Colors has a wide range of pearls and metallic colors, wickedairbrushcolors.com/pearl-flakes. thank you.
Wicked Colors mixed with 4050 UVLS Gloss is Createx' s best paint mix for sneaker and leather painting, www.uvlsclears.com. Mix 4050 Gloss Clear ~ 20% per volume to Wicked Colors, and thin 10% -20% per volume with 4011 Reducer. For added durability and adhesion, start with an adhesion coating or two of 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear onto the sneaker, allow it to thoroughly dry, then apply Wicked + 4050 mix. For a finishing top-coat, apply any UVLS Clear. Thank you.
Question. What paint is exactly for me really need help brotha. I'm getting into painting fishing spoons. Now do I sand them down first or is this paint ready to go.?? What type is best for me cuz I only wanna buy your paint. Only the best for me bro. Thanks
Really nice video . I hope you help me with this question because I want to invest in new and professional materials . Witch is the best for paint latex masks ?? ( veins ) skin tone details.. x , Having the idea that the latex is a flex material , Should I add a thinner if I want to paint something translucent? And which is the best for paint pu foam props ? Onto textile, Wicked Colors can be sprayed direct from the bottle, or thinned ~ 10% per volume with 4011 Reducer. For leather, mixing 4050 UVLS Gloss ~ 20% per volume with Wicked Colors works excellent. Thank you.
@@CreatexColors thanks a lot! I tested yesterday Wicked+4030 and looks good! But still I have to iron n wash it, to see the final result. Anyway I'll follow your recommendations. I'll do some leather with 4050. Thanks for your quick answer! It gives me a lot of confidence on Createx!!!!
Start with an adhesive ground-coat of 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear, and allow it adequate time for adhesion prior to paint. As it is polished and not scuffed, we recommend a full 48-hour cure before paint. Thank you.
Yes. Best option is to start with AutoBorne Sealer, then apply Wicked colors which are mixed 10% per volume with either 4030 Balancing clear or 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear. Thank you. createxcolors.com/reducers-additives/mixing-clears
4011 Reducer is what we use to thin all Createx paints. While 4013 Reducer is an option, we don't use it; its more for compliance in CA and artists that wish to thin with an isopropyl alcohol based reducer (sometimes thinning comes down to subjective preferences). We focus on 4011 Reducer as we find it works best. Thank you.
hello good afternoon, I want to buy createx colors for my lure workshop in Peru. How can I get in touch with an operator or person in charge? I want to know details about shipping costs and approximate delivery time.
Can you use the standard createx paint on hard surface like sign bored, as I have them. didn't realise at the time when I bought them I would be changing from canvas? Or should I just buy new paint ?
When mixed with 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear, or 4030 Balancing Clear, Createx Airbrush Colors work excellent for hard-surface. Mix 4050 / 4030 10% per volume for airbrushing, 20% per volume for spray-gun application, and thin as needed with 4011 Reducer. Its best to start with AutoBorne Sealer, followed by paint. Thank you. createxcolors.com/reducers-additives/mixing-clears
I have a doubt about how to cure the painting properly tshirts, in its technical data sheet Final curing: 48 hours Use the movement of air to help dry. Do not use heat to force the paint to dry. Using heat to speed up drying can create a "latex-like" film that lacks adhesion but I see that many immediately apply heat, which is what you recommend? heat or wind?
When painting t-shirts, allow the paint to air dry, then cure with heat using a shirt press, clothing iron (with protective cloth between paint & iron) or hair dryer. With the press and iron, set at 350 deg.F. / high temperature, and set for 20 - 25 seconds. With a hair dryer, run air until paint is warm to the touch. this process is for textiles, not "hard surfaces" such as plastic, metal or primer, in which case refer to the Hard-Surface Application Guide available at www.creatextech.com. Allow Createx paints to air dry for hard surface painting, not heat setting as is done for t-shirts. Thank you.
Do you need to add 5030 to Wicked paints to convert them into acrylic polyurethane like the regular Createx paints so they can be sprayed on plastic models?
Yes, to make Wicked Colors an acrylic-urethane resin paint, mix with 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear or 4030 Balancing Clear, the original Createx urethane mixing clear, createxcolors.com/reducers-additives/mixing-clears. This is for all Wicked Colors except new Wicked Opaque Colors, which are made with an acrylic-urethane resin, wickedairbrushcolors.com/opaque. Thank you.
Once mixed with additives, can the mixed left over paint be stored and reused like paint straight out of a original bottle? Say can I premix Wicked with 4030, and rebottle it for use later, so I dont have to play around with mixing, when actually painting?
We only recommend reducing paint intended for use within about 48-hours. If well capped, pre-mixed and reduced paint can last a few weeks before a change in sprayable viscosity occurs. Paint mixed with 4030 or 4050 sprays best within the first 48-hours. For more on this, please refer to the paint's technical data sheet available at www.creatextech.com. Thank you.
Wicked Colors, including the artist palette of Wicked Detail Colors work best for portraits onto wearable t-shirts. Thank you. wickedairbrushcolors.com/detail-colors
Question. This may sound like stupid question, can I buy transparent primary colors, blue, yellow and red and mix them to make different colors and have still be transparent?
Yes, all Illustration Colors are transparent (technically translucent), and when mixed will remain transparent. Of course, mixing a good covering Illustration Colors, such as White or Cobalt Blue will increase coverage when mixed, for example, with Yellow. Thank you.
I've used the Createx line on shirts and clothing, leather, wood, plastic models, scenery for dioramas, motorcycles, helmets and I love it. 4011 reducer all the way. I want to do more experimenting with the clears, it's much harder to find a 'do everything' clear. Excited to try the candies and the UVLS line
standard Wicked Colors are highly pigmented, translucent colors that cover semi-opaque with a little reduction. For coverage, use Wicked Opaque Colors. Than you. wickedairbrushcolors.com/
Both are acrylic colors, the difference is minute in the the Illustration Colors resin is softer for easier erasing, and slightly better atomization at lower psi settings with less reduction. Wicked Detail and Illustration Colors are fairly similar. Thanks.

So I'm be using these paints on my neo iwata brush on fishing spoons. Made from copper an medal.u k ow what I mean?? So u think gbe opaque colors are the ones I need ??
I get asked alot by folks who want paint for clothes and sneakers. So with Wicked name absorbing the primary line will it have similar softness to the original or more like wicked ? Also you mention how all these paint lineups are compatible. I take that to mean I can not only layer them but I can mix needed colors across the lineup correct ? (Ive done it alot but want to be sure it's not something with potential issues)
Wicked Colors are made with an acrylic resin that air dries to a durable, non-soluble coating suitable for outdoor / exterior application . While Wicked works well for textile, t-shirt, Createx Airbrush colors are made with a softer resin that leaves a "soft-hand feel". For leather and sneakers, Wicked Colors mixed with our 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear works well. Thank you. createxcolors.com/reducers-additives/mixing-clears
I have some old 4002 sealer dark....can you tell me what I can top coat it with, or maybe a teck sheet? I wanted to spray a urethanes base over it ? cant seem to find any info any more ,it's all the auto borne sealers now
4002 Sealer Dark was discontinued in 2015. This produce is not a substitute for AutoBorne 6002 Sealer Black. Use 4002 Sealer Black as a dark-grey airbrush color as the AutoBorne Sealers which replaced them have much better adhesion and durability for use as a primer-sealer ground coat. Thank you. www.autoborne.com.
so I do distressing for costumes. been using movie magic spray paint because its designed to be extremely translucent for more reliastiv look. I have 2 low end paint brushes and 2 compressors with 30 and 20 working psi. I was told o use creates for airbrushing. which of these 3 do I actually need?
Wicked Colors works well for airbrushing fingernails. Adding a little 4050 UVLS Gloss to the paint will improve adhesion and scratch resistance. Thank you. wickedairbrushcolors.com/
Createx Airbrush Colors is our traditional, and best, paint for airbrushing t-shirt. For painting sneakers, add 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear (www.uvlsclears.com) to Createx Airbrush Colors for improved adhesion and scuff resistance. Add 4050 to paint about 20% - 25% per volume (paint 4:1 4050). Thank you.

Wicked Colors or Createx Colors, mixed with a little 4030 Balancing Clear or 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear works excellent for a very durable paint that sticks to plastic. @@CreatexColors thanks! Just got my kit. The bottles say 4011 to thin out but i have the 4012. Are these different like auto paint as in slow fast and medium reducer??

We've many video on using candy2o (please see our UA-cam channel's Playlists) as well as a how-to mix candy2o video. We do have more planned. The reason why candy2o was not included in this video is a) they're dyes, not pigments as these colors, which b) makes them difficult to use, especially for painters new to Createx paints, many of whom will watch this video. We love candy2o, and how-it works with all Createx paints. We'll try to make a few of those this year. Thank you.

Yes. Best option is to start with AutoBorne Sealer, then apply Wicked colors which are mixed 10% per volume with either 4030 Balancing clear or 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear. Thank you. createxcolors.com/reducers-additives/mixing-clears
Im sold! Going to paint my model cars with this paint
Thank you
Thank you Chris. Love your videos!
But why didn’t you talk about the new 4013 reducer too? 😜👍🏼
Thank you.
@@CreatexColors so 4012 is discontinued? Had bad stuff in it :(
hello good afternoon, I want to buy createx colors for my lure workshop in Peru. How can I get in touch with an operator or person in charge? I want to know details about shipping costs and approximate delivery time.
For buying Createx paints in Peru, please contact us at info@createxcolors.com. Thank you.
Thank you.
Also, what product is best for portrait work? Can they be used when airbrushing the clothes the subject is wearing?
Thank you.
Which transparent paint is best to spray over black and white photographs?
Wicked Colors W001 White and W002 Black, wickedairbrushcolors.com/.
Thank you!
Thx!! Love your product!!
Thank you!
How transparent are the wicked colours? Will they still have enough coverage and colour on an RC body if I back with a silver or opaque white or black
standard Wicked Colors are highly pigmented, translucent colors that cover semi-opaque with a little reduction. For coverage, use Wicked Opaque Colors. Than you. wickedairbrushcolors.com/
Hi,just going to purchase some of your paint but could you tell me the difference between the detail and illustration brand, thanks
Both are acrylic colors, the difference is minute in the the Illustration Colors resin is softer for easier erasing, and slightly better atomization at lower psi settings with less reduction. Wicked Detail and Illustration Colors are fairly similar. Thanks.

Welcome, thanks for watching.
So I'm be using these paints on my neo iwata brush on fishing spoons. Made from copper an medal.u k ow what I mean?? So u think gbe opaque colors are the ones I need ??
Wicked Opaque Colors will work well for your fishing spoons. Word. wickedairbrushcolors.com/opaque
Have Createx stopped producing their "base" Acrylic colors (in the middle) ??
Createx Acrylic Colors are still made, but not featured in this video. This video is for Createx 's airbrush colors. Thank you.
Are all those bottles the same size? If so, what size are they? I'm looking for 8 oz. Illustration paints
Createx paints are available in a wide variety of sizes including 1oz., 2oz., 4oz., 8oz., 16oz. , 32oz. and 1-Gallon sizes. Thank you.
Wicked Colors, thanks. wickedairbrushcolors.com/
Should you use transparent paint for t-shirts
Yes, Createx Transparent Airbrush Colors are an excellent paint choice for t-shirt painting. Thank you.
Which would be the best choice for a nail tech wicked or illustration? I use an iwata neo cn with a 0.35. Or would either work?
Wicked Colors work excellent for nail painting. For best results, try adding a little 4050 IVLS Gloss Clear to the paint. Thank you.
@@CreatexColors awesome thank you so much! I had my fingers crossed for the wicked line I want all the colors 🤣
I prefer using weight to measure the amount of reducer. Is 10% reducer by weight good?
Depends, its a good starting point. Adjust if needed. Thank you.
Which paint line would you use for airbrushing nail designs?
Wicked Colors works well for airbrushing fingernails. Adding a little 4050 UVLS Gloss to the paint will improve adhesion and scratch resistance. Thank you. wickedairbrushcolors.com/
Good vid, but wondering where the Auto Air range fits in too.
New for 2021, Auto Air Colors has merged with Wicked Colors, www.autoaircolors.com. Thank you.
I love this paint easy to use hooked on your product
Thank you!
Hi,am very confused to chose from createx or wicked colors for t-shirts and shoes customs, kindly advise
Thank you.
@@CreatexColors thanks very much for getting back to me, what do I need to thin Createx Airbrush Colors?

Start with AutoBorne Sealer direct to 3D print material, www.autoborne.com. Over AutoBorne Sealer, any Createx paint can be applied. Thank you.
How would you airbrush EPO foam pls?
For foam, start with AutoBorne Sealer, www.autoborne.com, then Createx Airbrush Colors and / or Wicked colors over that. With either, mix 4030 Balancing Clear ~ 10% per volume with colors for improved flow, adhesion and durability. Thank you. createxcolors.com/reducers-additives/mixing-clears

With one I can use to paint controllers? Ps5 or Xbox?
Wicked Colors or Createx Colors, mixed with a little 4030 Balancing Clear or 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear works excellent for a very durable paint that sticks to plastic. Starting with AutoBorne Sealer is also recommended, www.autoborne.com. We made a video on how to paint gaming controllers you may find helpful, ua-cam.com/video/Px61Ul_xm4A/v-deo.html.
Can this be clearcoated with a urethane 2k clearcoat

So candy2o line next?
We've many video on using candy2o (please see our UA-cam channel's Playlists) as well as a how-to mix candy2o video. We do have more planned. The reason why candy2o was not included in this video is a) they're dyes, not pigments as these colors, which b) makes them difficult to use, especially for painters new to Createx paints, many of whom will watch this video. We love candy2o, and how-it works with all Createx paints. We'll try to make a few of those this year. Thank you.
Carissimaaaaaaaaaa muito a quem da realidade do Brasil......
Can these be mixed ?
Yes, all Createx paints are inter-mixable. Thank you.
