You are very right - before touching the paint try to remove as much grime and debris as possible (everything is possibly scratch-inflicting). That's why I do a second step after Iron-X: Traffic film remover to soften up everything that is non-metallic but adheres to the paint and eats into it over time. THEN it's time to clay - fast and relatively safe.
Thank you very much for this straight-to-the-point video. Im new to the detailing scene and this answered one of the questions i was having trouble finding the answer to.
I use both both on my cars. Yes you MUST use both to get the best results. However, I only do it once a year because it is a painstaking job. You are bound to get fallout again very soon since a lot of those particles are tiny molten hot steel. That penetrates into any wax. Unless You have ceramic coating or some other GOOD physical barrier like clear bra on your paint I would not recommend doing this often as you will deteriorate your clear coat, waste time only to find out that in a week those particles are back specially if you drive your car a lot. Also depends on your car. The back end of my SUV gets those a lot while the back end of my truck does not get them as much. Since those particles also come from you brakes it will depends on the design of your car as to how much time you want to spend on this.
Iron X Septic Cherry Flavor , Followed by Clay bar and Lube.... i still use auto magic [claymagic] clay and their 49A Body shine lube. [original claybar]
Your info helped a lot so far! It’s looking much better! As soon as I can get some M07 I can start feeding oils into the dry paint. You know you have to do a super fast detail mode timelapse now, right?! Lol
What brand clay bar can you use WITH an iron remover to combine both steps? i.e. use an iron decon spray as the lube for the clay bar? When I do it, it eats away the clay bar by the time you're half done.
Elaborated well on all the facts I had some knowledge on, I now have a clear understanding and I really enjoyed the videos! Newly subscribed and am looking forward to watching more videos!
I used iron x on my 2019 Jeep wrangler, and now the coated black bolts, screws and washers are started to rust from it, do you know why that is? I used it before on my honda accord but never has this issue.
It's been 6 months after ceramic coating, and I drove my car in rainy season and I found there are still dirt particles sticked on my car door. As my car's colour is white, it's clearly visible. What is the best way to get rid of these dirt particles at home without Damaging ceramic coating. Thanks!!!
I wish I would have come across this informative video before I spent almost 4 hours of clay baring. 😕 Ok so wash your car, use iron remover, clay bar and then wax? Oh I forgot paint correction in there somewhere 😬 so much to learn!!!!! Hope I didn't ruin my paint without using iron remover. Thank you for this video.
Same here. Clay barred my roof but there are contaminants that are permanently bonded with the paint. hopefully iron remover and/or bug and tar remover will do the trick. never keeping my car without sealant ever again, what a pain.
I know right! My car is white and I can see little black dots and orange dots all over the paint and in difficult to clay areas like around the car badges...
So the process is wash the car...then use iron remover.. claybar...then do a paint correction if its needed(swirl marks, scratches, oxidation) then apply a wax, ceramic coat, or PPF...whatever you want. Or a ceramic spray wax
btw if you own a white car and notice those rust looking spots, change your brake pads to ceramic.. They don't generate as much dust when they wear down.
why would you want to do that? isnt the ceramic coating like the final stage of protecting the clear coat? and prior to ceramic coating a car, it should be decontaminated, paint corrected, and polished off like a mirror finish then the ceramic coating can be done. If you use iron remover on a ceramic coated car what you will end up is stripping down the ceramic coated panel and potentially ruin the life of your ceramic coating.
Nice video! I just wanted to know 1 thing my car as no rough spots on , but it does have a good amount of orange spots on it! Can I just use the Iron X let it dwell then wash off? Without having to claybar this is my 1st time around using this
Love the 1980's intro!!!!
Explained it all under 6 mins, ranging product recommendations, banging 80s background music

How does it taste?

If it breaks one clay bar down it will break them all
You should try and get your hands on the Bilt Hamber range of fallout remover and clay!...

I have mazda 3 2017 white pearl color
Do we need to protect the cars paint work with wax or paint sealeant after using iron remover ???
Iron X + clay cloth + a bucket of water is all I need.

Great video, thanks. Can the iron-x damage trim or rubber seals i'm a bit concerned that it might strip out window rubbers etc? Thanks
I used iron x on my 2019 Jeep wrangler, and now the coated black bolts, screws and washers are started to rust from it, do you know why that is? I used it before on my honda accord but never has this issue.
Can you reuse a clay bar or is it best to just throw it away after 1 use? thanks in advance!
Yup! You can reuse
will iron x damage or fade plastic molds ?
Not if its rinsed in appropriate time
If I use them both, will I also need to IPA wipe down as well?
Can you do a shop tour and or chemical shelf
Definitely going to do these things at some point soon!
Can you use fallout remover on different coloured paint?
Looking to find my go-to iron remover, however, would you go with Trix since it removes TAR as well?
Great question, I would like to know the answer as well....wink wink anyone?
Can u pls give a link to good expensive ironx

IronX it's ph neutral means it's safe to use on ceramic coating
Carpro Iron X remover really isn't that expensive though. I bought it for $24 bucks and that was the bigger bottle too
Can I use Clay Bar to clay PPF on my car?
Great job man. Like your mind. You are good at making your point. A gift.
What if u use iron remover, and don’t clay it after?
Is that harmful to the paint?
Great informative video presentation, thanks for sharing
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching!
So iron remover prevents car from rusting?
No not really it kind of removes any iron contamination before it rust so it prevents rust
I wish I would have come across this informative video before I spent almost 4 hours of clay baring. 😕

Absolutely! Same effect, you may just not see the colour reaction as much!

Lisa Brown yes you can, just use iron x and rinse after.
My white paint is riddled with tiny orange spots! Gonna give this a try as well
@@JPaz805 it most definitely worked
Amazing product.
Hmm I didn’t know that I thought iron remover removes surface stuff and claybars remove imbedded stuff well now I know
iron remover gets out iron on and below the surface, clay bar shaves off the top of any embedded contaminants
What is marring with clay barring?
The rubbing or scratches from using a dry clay bar, or applying too much pressure, or you haven't flipped the bar. You need lubrication
Great video, thanks for the knowledge!
Anytime my friend!
