- Beechworth and Yackandandah are next-door neighbours in the Victorian High Country. Despite being just over the back fence from each other, the classic trail towns have never had an official singletrack link - until now!

The Indigo Epic is a helix-shaped loop of trail between Beechworth and Yackandandah that links into the existing trail networks. Extending into remote sections of Aussie bushland and covering over 50km, join Emma, Jono, Lia and Ben as they explore this backcountry masterpiece.

Did the whole epic in feb this year...just brilliant! Definately start from the Yack side if you are going to do it all in one day as it is more down hill to Yack from Beachworth!

Is homeward bound the section of trail up from trail head leading toward Yack township?
No. Homewood bound is the new section where the beechworth and yack loops meet. Its the return leg of the yack loop.
Also the start of a ~9klm descent (oh yeah) which includes one of the original descents back to the trail head.
We rode both loops from Beechworth. Some descents are decent but the climbing is unnecessarily long and meandering (short and pinchy climbing sections with longer descent segments would be a lot more enjoyable and efficient)
Suck it up the climbs are fine

how many kms long are the loops in each town?
Yack loop is ~40klm and ~900m of climbing. Not technical but some pretty steep pinches.
Not sure about the beechworth loop side.
Rode it all yesterday from beechworth to yack and back 25km from beech to yack and 35km back to beechworth took just 3 hours total abit over one hour to yack and almost two hours back .
