LOL!! When I was 21yrs old in 1973, I would go down to the Stereo Store in Kenmore N.Y. with 4-5 albums and ask them if I could play them in there PREMIUM ROOM where the K HORNS were...They TOTALLY BLEW ME AWAY!!...I was in there a long azz time and did it several times...The guys were sooo cool...I think at that time they were $1000 each...wish I bought them now!..I had to settle for double stacked ADVENT speakers....haaaaaa!!! Great times man!!

I always love your reviews Kevin and Kat. I’ve been a fan of the K horn since the salesman at my favorite hifi store in Charlottesville Virginia sat me down in front of a pair and played The Dark Side of the Moon for me in 1978. Good times!

Own the 70th Anniversaries and they are amazing. Went from floorstanding B&W's to the big corner horns, best decision I have ever made. Love them everyday. Not a huge fan of the grille and logo on the bass bin on these 75's but whoever buys these will be rewarded with decades of music or home theater enjoyment.

I bought a Primaluna 100 integrated from Upscale to power my 1987 Belle Klipsch speakers and they sound awesome! The amp has plenty of power for the speakers. I then added a Rega P3 turntable and a Tube Box S2 from Upscale.....pure heaven!

My friend and I heard Klipschorns at RMAF in 2019. They definitely left an impression on us.. We had fun too. We walked in and there were a bunch of proper audiophiles listening to classical and jazz. I twisted the Klipsch guy's arm into letting me plug my phone into his DAC. Played some Rammstein. All the audiophiles got up and left, but a bunch of other guys came in to rock with us.

I'm a Proper Audiophile and was in the industry for 35 years. I've seen all the AC/DC frontmen live. My main music is 60's/70's Hard Rock plus Chicago Jazz and Southern Blues. I've seen (to name a few) Manfred Mann, Jethro Tull Both at the Rainbow and outside in 30 degrees Celsius (drinking Tequila and smoking Doobie's) Santana, Fleetwood Mac and Little River Band all at the same gig in Sydney Australia. "Proper" Audiophiles can be anybody that's into the Gear as well as the Music.

OK, for anyone else who is wondering about the idea of a fully enclosed horn I did some research.
It turns out it is not entirely sealed. It still has horn mouths on each side it just doesn't rely on the wall to enclose the _internal_ horn mouth.
Think of a bass bin with only three sides to the horn mouth. The new design includes four sides. It still requires corner placement to get full bass performance but it doesn't have to be right up against both walls. You can angle them some or have them slightly out from the wall and they will work fine.
Technically you can even set them out from the corners and place them like regular speakers and they will work but with reduced bass performance due to now having a truncated horn more like a LaScala.
So it is still designed as a corner horn but more forgiving than the original open sided design.

The K horns changed the way I thought a speaker could sound 41 years ago when i first heard them. I was on a quest to find a speaker that really sounded like live music . Every weekend for almost a year my buddy and I toured the hi fi shops and listened to everything we could . I finally settled on the KEF 105.2 BUT had one more shop to go , they were the only Klipsch dealer in the city . That's where I forgot about all what I had listened to in my quest for sound , the Klipschorns changed everything I thought a speaker could sound like. I ordered a pair the next day, that was 41 years ago . Still have them and to me their still unbeatable.

Thank you both for your enthusiasm and TRUE LOVE of Klipsch. I had a pair of unaltered 1968's, they were fitted with WHITE grills on dark walnut which was very unusual, they also had NO COLLAR. Powered by ALL Dynaco factory assembled gear from 1965. That lasted 14 lovely years in my care. Then got into Martin Logan.
I JUST added the Forte' 4's to the music room from my local dealer here in New England, and the MAGIC of the Klipschorns has returned (O: (I learned that Roy voiced the Forte' to sound as close to the K'Horn as possible)
BTW, they have the full line of Heritage family models INLCUDING a 75th anniversary Jubilee pair !! I will make that appointment to come and listen to them. (O:

It's always amazing how many people who have never heard anything other than their friends poorly setup Klipsch RP 8000's comment as if they know anything about the Heritage line sound. Completely different animals. Guys who wouldn't know horn coloration if it hit them in the face comment about it as if they haven't heard anything with a horn in the last thirty years, if at all. Often I have found that they just read comments and assumed. Now, the new K-Horn isn't as fussy about placement as it's predecessor's but it's still not the set it and forget champ either. Being near a corner still helps in most cases. Though I have heard it exhibit too much bass in a corner setup and need to be pulled farther out in the room. If you have the space and the budget don't overlook the higher end Klipsch Heritage line products. You may ultimately prefer a different type of sound but you also may save yourself thousands and wonder why anyone would use any other speaker. Seriously, if you're considering spending 16K on a pair of speakers you should really spend some time listening to a lot of options. Yeah, spend some money to travel if you have to in order to get demo's. It'll save you big time in the end.

Always amazing talk of these speaker. The EV tweeter would blow out from heat with little trouble. And the engineers had to try to go back to the original design as the T35 style because they found that the factory had forgotten how to make them meet spec. So, the talk of the fantastic sound was a total myth until at least the tweeter drive was designed new from scratch.

Klipschorns were the first extreme hi-end loudspeaker. Of course Harry Truman was president at the time and a 15 watt power amp was considered to be a high-powered amp then. A horn is a flared pipe and is inherently resonant. They sound great on brass instruments, which are horns, and electronic instruments such as electric guitars and synthesizers. But they have an inherent colorization for voices and other acoustic instruments.
I too was impressed with K-horns when I first heard them back in 1970s. My first crack at a hi-end system was a set I built with the same mid-range horn and tweeters that Klipsch used, with a back-loaded bass horn using the 15" JBL D140 bass driver. I loved them until I heard a pair of home-built loudspeakers a friend had done with Phillips dome drivers at a small fraction of the cost I paid for my horns. It was embarrassing they sounded so much better.
If you're a big rocker, into hip-hop or pop, you'll love K-horns. They're massive and will terrify the neighbors. But if you love to listen to voices and acoustic instruments, there are more modern choices you'll enjoy more.
