    Cliff, let me join the crowd to vote for the long form videos! Even though I’m not a professional sharpener, I sharpen my woodworking tools and kitchen knives for myself, friends, and family. I always learn a lot from your content and look forward to every new video.

    I started sharpening blades in 1979 in my grandfather's machine shop. We have always sharpened blades edge leading (we didn't have guides, though). Trailing never did make sense to me for the reasons you stated at the start of the video. Good job!

    Hey Cliff, just wanted to say thank you for what you've done in support of the Lahaina fire. You provide a great service to the community and have inspired me to grab gear from your shop and start sharpening myself. The website refresh looks great!

    Hey - cliff - you mention the angle guide a few times, I’m sure you said in other videos, but what angle do you do majority of knives at?

    Thanks for an informative video. I have been using 3in1 oil for my lubricant, but have been told it is not the best one to use. I saw you use a few drops of oil on garden shears, What do you use?

      He said it was mineral oil - food grade found in pharmacy & medicine departments

    • @Rick_Hoppe
      @Rick_Hoppe 6 місяців тому

      ... and mineral oil is very inexpensive. You’ll usually find it near the rubbing alcohol in drug stores.

    • @CurryCustomCutlery
      @CurryCustomCutlery  5 місяців тому +1

      I typically dont wear it when making videos. I have a dust extraction system mostly setup here at the new shop that I am fine tuning and a new WEN shop extractor to mount overhead next.....would make a good video maybe. Thx its a great question
