Oh wow actual footage of the Canyon Trip! Whenever I mention that ride to people nobody seems to remember it but it's one of my favourite childhood memories oh I loved the American Adventure Theme Park! Never would I go on the missile tho 😂 😂 😂 Thanks for sharing this with us fantastic video!
Amazing, thanks for posting. Lots of great memories. The Canyon Trip was fun to watch but pretty boring to ride. That log flume was awesome, in later years they had a revolving tunnel on the lift hill and it felt like the boats were tipping sideways!
if you where sneaky in the day you could stay in your seat at the end of the ride . pretend to get off and sit back down again. ride it again. Sorry i did this a few times. lol. saved queing for an hour again.
As an experienced work study engineer I was asked by the management to carry out a study to determine the total riders per hour on the missile to gain maximum usage
Great vid went as a kid a few times and really felt the park was enormous when u looked over to the other side, a true adventure. I cannot go upside down anymore suffer bad with vertigo but I rode the missile many times back then it was great. There were water rapids too I think? Happy times xx
@@imansfield Yeah there was 'Tidal Wave' at Flamingo Land which was a bit more aggressive than this, but unfortunately that's been gone about 15 years now too.
Oh wow ... I've never seen YT footage of "Canyon Trip" before! (I've seen it as "The Rack", but that came later.) I was on this when it was at Morey's Pier in Wildwood NJ; possibly my most unique flatride credit. May not look like much, but a very unique experience that I just don't think is captured by modern-day Topsin-type rides.
I was an electrical engineer there from 88 to 98. Some of the best years of my life.
You still work at a theme park?

Am I imagining it or did you go through a spinning tunnel when going up??
I remember riding it. I loved it . I remember being upset when it was removed😂
@@jonhughes2346you're talking about nightmare niagra aka log flume and yes there was a spinning tunnel on final hill climb.

The missile was ahead of its time, what a ride that was! Spent many good days there as a kid, thanks for posting

Remember the point of no return sign next to the steps? 😂
Now at Pleasurewood Hills.
Wow a pov of The Missile! Brilliant!

That’s a cool story. I rode that coaster for the majority of my youth it was great and a shame American Adventure closed.
Thanks for uploading this! Many happy memories at this fantastic theme park.
Canyon Trip was an impressive looking ride to watch...
Amazing footage! I feel 12 again - thanks for posting!

Even though we always preferred alton towers ,this was local and provided a very unique atmosphere.
Miss this place great vid 🎢
Amazing footage, thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks so much for sharing. Went here so much as a kid 👍🏻
Thank you so much for posting.
Great upload thanks for sharing. I went twice on a coach trip with the Manchester lot.
The Canyon Trip really was an amazing piece of engineering. I don’t think there are any operating these days but I’d kill to ride one! Great footage!
Yes the Canyon trip was a unique ride. Not very thrilling I seem to remember. More exciting to watch than to ride! Glad you liked the footage!

It went to Camelot Theme Park and was renamed The Rack. Not sure where it is now though.
Didn`t the whole of the log flume eventually get in cased in a rock like theme or am I imagining this

Looks a fun log flume
I believe it can still be riden at oakwood in South Wales. Fact check that but im pretty sure.
Was that a chunky camcorder they let you on the rollercoaster with? Won't even let you on with a GoPro today unless it's strapped to your chest.
This was back when people were stupid
Yes it was a big chunky Sony Hi 8 camcorder. The staff didnt bat an eyelid when I got on the ride with it!
@@imansfield Sweet times
Halcyon days...and the Missile was actually running!!!
I remember going there as a kid it was great and then just disappeared
I hated always soiling myself at theme parks
The council bastards I could of taken my children here to this day I remember this all too well
That canyon trip ride looks cool, but at the same time it looks so boring
Yes I remember it was a very underwhelming ride!
Thar ride at the end looks hellish 🤢
