Dog Clutch + Sequential box. often still requires a very light and quick lifting on the throttle for the Up shift, and some boxes need a tiny dab on the throttle for downshift. Also depends on RPM, load on the Diff i.e. middle of corner etc, and depending on over all set up and manufacturer. there are quite a few factors. The easiest way to experience a Sequential box and how it behaves is on a Dirt Bike, or ALMOST any relatively modern Motor Bike for that matter.
If you don't cut the power for shifting any gear box, it will either damage the gearbox or burn the clutch. Cutting the power can be done manually by releasing the throttle pedal, or automatically by cutting ignition. The latter I guess was only common in F1 cars in 1995 (only for a few years actually).
correct it's an "up & down"/sequential gearbox. That car was designed to be driven for 24 hours so you can imagine they didn't want the driver to use the clutch as often.

dogbox / straight cut gears requires clutchless shifting its main purpose is for race cars because its loud as shit as you can hear the whining. street cars have helical cut gears so its whisper quiet
Also if you dont mind wrecking your normal cars Gearbox, you can shift with no clutch, just add some pressure to the stick in the dir you want to change to, then release the throttle, it will feel like its sucking it into gear LOL and with a big "CLUNK" it will move to next gear. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS esp if you got a few pony's there, you'll almost certainly loose that gear, if not then prolly later on.
@SAFFY7411 No, because my acc is not in good standing, from 2 years ago when I uploaded f1 video and FOM removed it and youtube gave me strike point and warning if it happens again, acc will be deleted, form that point, case was open... and now last month when youtube UI changed and new rules came, they solve my stike case and limited me with vide lenght... it says ''your acc not in good standing'' ... BMI videos have nothing to do with it, cause show stopped showing last year

in most cases, especially if u have sequential gearbox, u dont need really lift the accerlator when up shifting
I wish they did preludes more and the h23a vtec too ..
They should shorten the race to 12 or 16 hours and use the clutch to upshift :) Just trolling. It's cool that he can upshift without clutching in.
