    TATA should add an app that does proper range estimation with recommended stops. They have a good market share and have sufficient data points from all EV owners. Right now the drivers have to do their own route planning.

    Great show, I love all the tech talk you have done and I would like to add a correction... In Li Fe Po batteries balancing can be done more efficiently in 2 ways bottom balancing .... Done efficiently anywhere between 10 and 20% or even can be done upto 40% where electronics kicks in and this requires that the charging is done through BMS itself that is BMS is inline in the charging so even if it's DC charging the charging level will be throttled so when you are connecting 50 K Fast charger practically for a good 10 mins to 20 mins it will balance first throttling the charging speed. So when you are in a hurry it will delay the fast charge process. When there is top balancing the balancing kicks in at 95% battery level and ideally the lifepo chemistry requires it to charge slowly above 90% hence I think Tata has deliberately done a top balancing schema when u r in fast charge mode u charge fast and get away hence the spec says good to fastcharge till 80%. Top balancing is best of both worlds where it's not every day you need to do this. As you well said charging discipline is the key . I really don't think that there will be no active balancing available in BMS ..

    Beautiful battery pack info buddy.. keep up the job. Very informative and accurate. I work with batteries for last 18 yrs as a SI and cell balancing on BMS level is what Tata needs to modify to better the great product they have we can extract a good 5000 cycles at acceptable degradation. And more fast charges than now

    Speed, battery, and range display screen is smaller and has more side signal area. It can be little bigger actual display area. Another issue is related to electronic fitting that voids the warranty, like reverse sensor for top ends or camera in lover varients, should have given that flexibility atleast through dealer right?

I booked this tiago ev, but i am having 2nd thoughts about going thro the purchase,because i live in a hilly state of Meghalaya, and I don't know whether this car will serve me because of the hilly terrain here. A few months back , i bought an ola s1 Pro, and it's a wonderful scooter,
    I booked this car from Guwahati [ 55 metres above sea level] and Shillong being my State capital [ 1550 metres above sea level] , will this tata tiago reach my city with 100% soc becoz its all uphill and the distance that I have to travel is about 130-135 kilometers?

But since this is my first car I am kind of thinking it will be a good choice for me as it will be in the mix of city and highway. • @vivekvivekahuja
      @vivekvivekahuja Рік тому +7

      so my view as a EV owner for 3 years and done 70000 kms.... how are you saying its 2.5 LAkh extra? if i were to buy my normal vehicle 3 years ago i would have purchased for aroudn 10Lakh as i had an ertiga before that... the primary thing, future is EVs, there are RTOs who have cleary published regulariyons only EV will be registered no more petrol 2 wheelers... so its high time you only compare EV to EV... if you still want to compare smoking vehicles, you are not going to leave a cleaner planet for your children.... or mine...still if you want to do a cost comparison, how much kms would you drive in 6-8 years? how much would you spend on a ICE maintenance and how much on feul expenses?
      if you make a total ...you will see the EV is much much cheaper... consdiering that the current gneration of tata EVs with their battery chemistry will give 2500-3000 cycles...that means 5 lakh kms... battery is gaurantee for 8 years... but we expect it will last 10-11 years... and if today the battery is 30-35% of the Car cost... compare it to Mahindra e2o or reva the car cost was much less % compared to battery cost...
      in future battery tech will be better, more denisty, less cooling needs, and less cost... so when you want to replace after 8-12 years... you will get either at same cost a higher range or lower cost for same range...
      i am sure you can not do that so easily on an ICE...
      most of the car works on software now, in ICE there is still so much mechanics involved...
      at the end, my 2nd home car is being sold by end of this month as i am to get my 2nd EV! so i will be 100% on EV and no more petrol!!!

    Sir i have 15 year old petrol car which has done 80000 km and still running great. Registration bhi 5 year aur renewal ho gya till 2028. I think I'm a very good candidate for Tiago EV. But I'm afraid if it breaks down on road like multiple Nexon EV have. Should I keep my belief and move with Tiago EV or should I go for petrol car. My Tiago EV would have 100% city usage. Never outside. It will replace even my bike commute. That's why I'm considering. Please guide.

    Nice informative video. Is Tiago ev a good car for a first time car buyer like me? I have been following every videos about Tiago ev (specially from plugin India) and have been wondering if this car is for me. I also took a small test drive of tiago ev. Everything is good but there are a few things that I am wondering about like is the boot space of 240ltrs sufficient enough for long trips and is long trips even possible given the real world range of this ev. One more thing is that in our society having a charging point is not possible currently as I have external parking and all covered parking slots are full without any common area available. So, if I buy this ev then I will have to charge it in public chargers till the time we can have a charger placed in our society(which can be months or years from now given the lack of space). Can anyone here please advise me regarding the boot space (will it be enough for long trips), are long trips even possible with this range and is it feasible to depend on public chargers for a longer period of time. I would also like to point out that my usage would only be on weekends for most part of the year with maximum drive of about 20 KM's or so. Thanks in advance

    • @pluginIndia
      @pluginIndia  Рік тому

      Thanks for the comment.
      If your use is only on weekends for 20-50 km per week, then you can easily top up charge at nearby AC chargers (check PlugShare). You will have to do this only once a week. But you have to be regular and ensure it charges upto 100% for balancing.
      You can do this until you get permission for society to setup a 15 amp socket. But do get a 15 amp socket installed at your society on priority.
      Regarding Boot Space, I will get someone from the community to answer.

    • @vivekvivekahuja
      @vivekvivekahuja Рік тому

      boot space is OK not great! but OK... 240 litrs...with a small area below the boot floor mat too! but since you can do a test drive check it out and place some of your bags and see if you are good with it or not.
      Personally, if you want do a comparsion and test drive with Cirtoen, they have a better battery size, more boot space and car space (comparable to PUNCH) but less FEATURES!!! so its a fair comparison, if you need bigger boot space like 310ltrs...citroen offers it, has a larger battery, so you will get some more range, but some features are LESS!!! so its wise to do a test drive of both and then decide...
      i booked without even looking at the TIAGO EV and am happy to take my delivery in a few days now!

      @@pluginIndia hey thanks a lot for the reply. So, the AC chargers would take too long to charge right? so, in this case i will have to arrange an alternate mode of transport to my home while the car is charging or am I thinking too hard on this .
      One more thing I would like to ask is that can an ev be my only car for the next 7-10years?
      Sorry, this will be my first car so I am posting tons of questions.

    • @satyabratapal8977
      @satyabratapal8977 Рік тому

      @@vivekvivekahuja thanks again for these details. This atleast clears some of doubt regarding space. Actually I was concerned about space because my inlaws and my parents visit from to time. So, I was thinking about space more for times when I will need to pick and drop them to airport etc. (again I might be thinking too hard on all these nitty gritty details). Also regarding citroen, i am yet to test drive it but from different online reviews I got to know that it has air cooled battery unlike tiago ev which has a liquid cooled one. In some online forums I have read that aur cooled batteries would degrade more than liquid cooled ones. Another thing is that is the power adequate in citroen(57bhp) and the top speed of 107kmph, is it really that less in real world usage?

    • @pluginIndia
      @pluginIndia  Рік тому

      @satyabrata - Yes once a week, you have to leave the car overnight at said public charger location and pick up morning. Alternatively you can try to organize a 15 amp socket at a shop near ur home and charge there. Shops will help if they see revenue. Speak to some of them and see. Charging at home is highly recommended, as that is the biggest advantage of an EV. Every week sit on society manager's head and tell them this is important. We have used only electric car for 10 years and that was a 100 km car. The Tiago can go 200 km. If you live 95% of time in city, then Tiago is idea and can serve you for next 8+ years and save you lakhs of money by not using OIL.

    so are you saying that the BYD motor on the eC3 will have better BMS calibration

    • @pluginIndia
      @pluginIndia  Рік тому +4

      Definitely the BYD e6 has a more sophisticated BMS from our tests.
      - You get high speed DC charging (40 kW) even at 95% SOC.
      - You have no issues not charging upto 100% as I discussed

      What on road price you bought it at? Also, with subsidy and without subsidy. At our place in Varanasi, they are selling it at 12.5 on road. I think they are selling it at very high rate.

    • @ayushjaiswalawesome
      @ayushjaiswalawesome Рік тому +1

      Mine was not top variant. The one below that and without fast charger. Ex showroom price was ₹10,79,000. 1% TCS. No road tax. I think I paid 3,000 more for registration plus fast tag etc. That's all
      I had to get my sanctioned load upgraded to 4KW since I am using regular charger. For fast charger you might need higher sanctioned load. Without that they won't install the charger. Without charger installation you won't get car delivery. My dealer blocked the registration until Tata power okayed the setup at my place. I live in a rented accommodation
