I bought a 50w MI power bank with 20k mah, it is slim enough to fit at the back of my steam deck, I just bought a semi-full case and made a customized holder for the powerbank, tried Elden Ring and I got 5+ hours of gameplay on it. powerbank in the PH cost like $50-$55 and case with $4, worth it.
I tend to see people complain about the battery life on the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. I can understand the battery life issue since this is a gaming computer coupled with the 40 watt-hour battery although I think it's better than my gaming laptop. My battery on the AORUS 15G went from 95% to 18% in 42 minutes running Hogwarts Legacy. At least the Nyko battery pack helps improves it. I do like the that Nyko Dock has a front USB port which is useful for Xbox controllers and the USB 3.1 is an interesting addition. The only negative is the lack of DisplayPort which I would find useful if you want to free up an HDMI port for a console or streaming device, but I suspect most users will likely hook the Steam Deck to a TV. It's may not be too big of a deal on laptops if yours has a dedicated video port (for example, my AORUS 15G has a Mini DisplayPort).
Amazon reviews on this thing are terrible with 3 stars and less. Most report it barely lasts for the hour and a half they advertise and only lasts around 30-40 mins. Most also report that just after a few months their pack no longer holds charge. Why are it trying to sell this thing?
They got to make games for the steam deck though like you can play all your games but like specifically for the steam Deck kind of like ps Vita back in the day exclusives
I’m have a 99Wh V-mount battery that I use for my cinema camera. Taking it on a trip now and seeing how they work together. Should triple my game time.
While I haven't tested it out, I'm willing to bet with almost 100% certainty that it won't fit with a case. The battery sits pretty flush with the steam deck already so I don't think it would fit with one on.
Like the built in battery? Yeah, but no more than a standard charge and recharge cycle would normally You may actually be saving the battery a bit because you wouldn't be discharging the battery as often The steam deck has power protection cirictry to pass all electricity through past the internal battery straight to the main board when fully charged, so you'd be running straight off any external power first assuming the deck is already topped off
Do you not know how to convert Amp hours into milliamp hours? The deck is 5200mAh.. So yeah, depending on what you're doing you should double the life. And sometimes even more.
@@Crecross this is very theoretical maths. Because the first thing you learn about external batteries is that the 10k mah raw capacity is never going to translate into the effective charging capacity. And it gets worse if you don't power the SD off.
Probably not, just downscale your screen like most ROG Ally owners do (in secret, and basically to steam deck specs lol)…. PPI in a handheld…. 720p is great. Even watching UA-cam on the deck.. it’s still HD lol
@@emanndaman8315 yea...It works fine when need a portable backup charger but I rarely use it the weight isy big issues it'd pretty Heavy I wouldn't mind if it had extra ports or a SD card slot
Do you think this battery pack is worth the extra weight? Do you use a battery bank at all? Let us know!

Cant wait for solid state batteries to become mainstream in a few years. 2 x battery

Im liking that dock, and im not sure if i like magnets on the back of my steam deck to hold a battery
Yeah, that was why I ultimately went with the nyko battery. Would just prefer to have something to clip on and off
How much total time do you get when at max load? I wondering if I should get this for the oled deck or a larger one

If you charge the pack will it also charge the deck so you don’t have to have 2 chargers plugged in
Was that not obvious? 💀
I would love from that second battery solution, just the magnetic steam deck back support. Is that sold separately?
Is it compatible either protective cases?
does it have usb-c passthru for xr video glasses?
Does this fit on case? Specifically Skull Co case
If you use a case it's possible to attach it?

Better yet just use Jsaux mounting system for your existing portable battery.
Does it have a stand too?
What about the temp
How much does this extend the steam deck's battery life?
X2
X3
Could this work on my aya neo 2
Guys does playing through the powerbank degrades original baterry performance over time Because of discharging and charging over and over ..

With 10k mAh it doubles that Steam decks life? I don't think so.

I don't like it it's heavy asf and can't charge and use it at the same time
