In Well-tempered tuning systems (Modern Tuning Systems) All intervals are equalized so there is no difference between minor scales. Now 300 years ago your claim wouldve been better, but now thats completely false.
hey man you should stream your creative process on twitch, i would love sit and watch you create music instead of the 7 min videos. None the less love your content
This is lit af. I'm a rapper from the US, Louisville Kentucky to be precise, and I draw a lot of inspiration from the Toronto scene. Respect from South of the border man 🙏🙏🙏🙏
If you love this stuff and have a real passion for it, don't let anything discourage you. It may appear effortless because I only show off the things that sort of turn out okay. I made 5 beats before this one and they were all garbage. I think a useful skill to develop is having the intuition to know when to move on or to know when something isn't going to work out. Over the past few years I've gotten a keener sense of that, and I've been able to identify when I should scrap a project sooner because of it. I totally understand the frustration, I'm in that boat every time I start working on one of these videos. I start fresh, figure out which direction I want to go in, attempt it, and 99% of the time my first few tries do not work. If I'm really having a tough time and nothing is working out after 5+ attempts, I move on to a completely different direction entirely and start questioning whether or not I'm really talented enough to do this. It's normal, but don't let that voice in your head beat you.
damn, thanks for the kind words. it helps to know that you mess and scrap projects too. I guess my problem is not knowing where to place stuff. I have these beats in my head that I can imagine but just struggle to put it onto the computer. Thanks again for the kind words, I wont be giving up this passion anytime soon! seriously appreciate it. I can't wait to see you blow up.
man never delete your old projects . when you finally get to that point where youre making good music consistently (everyone makes bad music even the full timers like pierre bourne and metro) then you can look back on your old ones to laugh or even for inspiration and you can maybe even keep the original, copy it, and fix and finish the beat to be proper .
All about practice and practice. Keep fiddling around until u have something that really catches your ear and build off of it. Take breaks and go back to your work when u get stuck. Keep watching tutorials, export and re-export to get your mixes just right. Shit happens overtime big fella
Wow i know there are a lot of people doing these kind of videos but i have to admit that your style is by far one of the best ive seen doing this. very informative and well done, Keep it up!
You gotta keep your head up and stay more confident.. you’re way to good to call any beats you do cringe. You’ve taught me wayyyy too much and this is way too good so own that shit J. Rent
I was kind of offput while watching this video, by the look of your 'avatar' I thought this was a parody channel. But now that I've hit the end, I have to sub. This was very well made. Only advice is maybe making the song longer or at least a separate longer version so I can listen to all of your work
Yeah, I've had other complaints about the avatar as well. My friend Corey made it for me 6 years ago as part of an album cover. Another subscriber of mine offered to make a more professional looking avatar, so I'm hoping to have that made so I can start using it in my future videos going forward. The most important thing for me is just making sure I'm giving it my best and teaching people as much as I can in a manner that's as clear and concise as possible. I would like to make longer versions of the songs, or make full length tracks, and I hope to be able to do that sometime soon. I appreciate the feedback, and I'm grateful that you've decided to subscribe, it means a lot!
Hands down best tutorials on UA-cam. Thank you man. Would you be able to do a big software overview? Like what plugins you have and if you would recommend them for others?
Yeah I might do that, although I personally don't think that plugins matter that much. I don't want to give people the impression that "if you want to make beats you have to spend all this money on these specific plugins" because that's not true at all. If you want a list of my favorite plugins to use though they're: fab filter Saturn for saturation, fab filter pro-c for compression, fab filter pro-q for EQ, pro-L for limiting, ozone stereo imager... Omnisphere, native instruments Kontakt and my favorite piano to use is the Giant piano from the Kontakt library
Thanks! Yeah, it just became my favorite key, I like the vibe of D minor. But it's to the point now where I feel like I have to make a conscious effort not to play D minor shit for a while haha
I used to make full songs, I have a couple old ones on my channel, like "Don't Play", "Aspergers Freestyle", "Feels Good" and a handful of others. I haven't had much inspiration lately, but making these videos allows me to get out some of my creative energy and gives me a sense of fulfillment where I can make something and teach/inspire others. I may make full songs again in the future, but I'm not sure when
ufff broo what a good video, it has helped me a lot and because I had already seen your videos but today you finished convincing me, keep on like that, brother, and you've won my like and my subscription
Bro i must say your lyrically amazing... U just nailed it in all ur video can teach us how to come up with good lyrics i love to write some rap lyrics but doesn't know how to write it especially the words... How to use proper words to make some sense in ur lyrics
Dude you rock! Im. Gonna recreate your patterns and teaching myself this ambient vibe. I listen to night lovell a lot and the new album from denzel curry is kinda the same vibe! Dig that and your shit! Love from amsterdam
yo this was heat bro, really appreciate you goin into detail on how you got your vocals like that, i produce but want to get into singing so that was really helpful and i love the ambiance
not cringe at all, just heat
Thanks, Stephen! I appreciate it man!
Stephen Rasle swear he's got straight bars 🔥 I love watching his buddies
Videos**
Exactly what i was gonna say!!
@@willembresser9124 u being sarcastic?
D Minor is scientifically defined as the saddest key! Maybe that's why you gravitate to it when you want to do more ambient beats! =)
That's a myth
ur a myth >:((((((((
Minor is minor regardless of which key
In Well-tempered tuning systems (Modern Tuning Systems) All intervals are equalized so there is no difference between minor scales. Now 300 years ago your claim wouldve been better, but now thats completely false.
I LOVE YOU ThatViolaKid
"might be cringy" bruhh i dont even like this type of rap, just the beats, and i straight up shouted, that was fireeee
Thank you, I really appreciate that!

hey man you should stream your creative process on twitch, i would love sit and watch you create music instead of the 7 min videos. None the less love your content
That's sounds interesting. I might do that in the future, sounds like a good idea!
Do it! I’d for sure watch that
Yo this is a genius idea you could get paid good money to do it too! Soldjah Boi has a partnership with twitch for streaming his fortnight gameplay
@@JRent506 I would definitely watch that
I'd watch that man! For sure!
Best ambient trap example. March madness by future. One of the best beats I’ve ever heard

Haha thanks! I wasn't sure how it would turn out when I was doing my voiceover for the video. My attempts at singing are really hit or miss.
Cring-... what?! That was straight fire. You`re so talented. I hope everbody will know you soon.
I really appreciate that, thank you!
> might be cringy
>Do a banger
You're my hero J.rent
That was very very noice, nice work
I appreciate it, thanks!
I've watched a lot of tutorials on ambient trap and I can honestly say yours makes the most sense due to you not over complicating the concept 💯
it's actually pretty good

This is lit af. I'm a rapper from the US, Louisville Kentucky to be precise, and I draw a lot of inspiration from the Toronto scene.

No cringe here. Amazing beats with great freestyle lyrics. Not too big on the "Yah"s but that's just my preference. Keep it up, man!
Thank you!

DO NOT pop a perc, adderall and xan at the same time kids
Amazing beat J, love the vibe

That was already way better than most mumble rappers out now lol
Haha thanks
Sound like some shit the weekend would be featured on, fkn amazing my guy
I appreciate that, thank you! I could definitely see The Weeknd laying down some dope vocals on this
you make this look so effortless and easy. so i go and try to do the same and it just sucks. maybe i dont have talent for this.
