  • I used the Sinful Colors Hypnotic Transforming Topcoats (similar to the Dance Legend "Spot It" polishes) to create 5 different techniques to achieve these pastel rainbow fluid art nails! If you'd like to learn how to do fluid nail art without special polishes, you can watch my other tutorial where I use acrylic paints instead!

If you don't have the special effect polishes, you can try using acrylic paints mixed with a fluid medium and isopropyl alcohol (I have a tutorial for that here: ua-cam.com/video/Cv1cOwRwmyc/v-deo.html ). I've also seen people do fluid art with nail polish and silicone spray, but I haven't tried that method yet, so I'm not sure how well it works.

This video was really good. Someday maybe I will find that transforming polish. It's not high on my agenda, but it's there.😃

Thanks! That's the way that I felt about the transforming polishes, too - they're pretty neat, but I don't use them much since I mainly do freehand designs on a solid color background.

I really love your end result but I can't seem to find this polish anywhere & it is a must have for me (ok my 9yo & 5yo are really into it too lol). I'm on a search! Your 5 techniques were very helpful, thank you! Have a great day!

Thank you, and I'm glad you liked it! These polishes would be so fun for your kids! I'm not sure that they're sold in stores anymore (they were limited edition from awhile ago), but they might still be sold online. I bought mine from eBay awhile back, but if you can't find the Sinful Colors ones, I know that Dance Legend has a similar line called "Spot It" that produces the same effect. The Dance Legend ones are a bit more expensive, but they aren't limited edition, so they should be easier to find online. I hope you'll be able to find one of these, and just let me know if you have more questions. :)

Thanks yes I saw that & will definitely try out that brand. I just love the affordability & accessible Sinful colors brand. I've known about the hairspray & antibacterial spray in water techniques, but not the silicone spray. So whichever is easier or less likely to cause noxious harm I'll try out. Just easier with a top coat. Thanks again!

I completely agree about the affordability of Sinful Colors! It's so much nicer to try out their polishes because even if the special effects don't work or I end up not liking the color, I've only spent a few dollars on it. I know that the transforming topcoats were really popular, so maybe they'll bring them back in the future (and hopefully they'll include new colors if they do, because white and black would be great!). I haven't tried the silicone spray, but from everything I've seen, I think you pour nail polish on a silicone mat and then spray the silicone spray on it to create decals, so if you don't already have a nail mat, it might not be the best method. The topcoats are definitely the easiest method that I've tried out so far.

      That's how it was described
No mat, no spray. I hope they do, they should be aware of what flux goes with which sets they come out with, just like any company. It's like Ben & Jerry's, they have the technology, just raise some ice cream back from the dead. But it's polish, awesome cool polish that does what we've been doing for years with extra stuff.
