  • Products used:
    Garnier Fructis Anti-Frizz hair serum
    Wet n Wild Clear Nail Protector
    Thanks to Riley Ramsingh @damningeden for sharing this tip!
    Disclaimer: use at your own risk, and I wouldn't use expensive polishes for this. Use cheap polishes you can replace easily and don't mind ruining in case it doesn't work.
    Ingredients of Fructis Anti-Frizz hair serum: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Parfum/fragrance, Argania Spinosa kernel oil, Prunus Armeniaca kernel oil, Hexyl cinnamal, benzoyl alcohol, linalool, amyloid cinnamal
    If you can't find this specific product, I would look for a product with the first two ingredients high on the ingredient list. I have always heard that any ingredient after the fragrance is not significant.
    Polishes also used for fluid art:
    Barielle Lemondrops
    Barielle Banana Drop
    Sinful Colors Sugar Pumpkin
    Sally Hansen XW Wet Cement
    Born Pretty Store mini mat item ID=43717 #prsample

    Just thought I'd let you guys know that the cell forming Sleek 'n Shine recipe, works with just about any kind of shine, straightening, sleek product - works even better if you transfer a little in a spray bottle and use it directly on your "stickers". Also, if you don't own a flat enough stamper to pick up or double stickers, flip the jelly in it's case and use backside of stamper… works like a charm!!

    I’ve been watching fluid artists on UA-cam for a few months as I have been sick with aspiration pneumonia I haven’t been able to do much else & ive been trying to figure out how I could get this to work in nail polish so I didn’t have to rely on just my sinful colors transforming tc polishes since A: they no longer make them & B: I wanted more color options so thanks so much! I am now hooked on fluid art period now and since I have a ton of apple barrel acrylic paints which I use when going nail art anyway I can now use them to do some art for my new nail studio (which I also am planning to make when I get over this darn pneumonia! I aspirated again a couple days Go so I’m back to square 1 with being sick and it sux! It’s all bc of injuries I sustained when I was hit by a drunk driver and left for dead if y’all want details let me know I’ll fill u in). Thanks so much for the info!

    This is fantastic! I happen to have 2 bottles of that of Wet and Wild - and I have a question. When you say you like this better than 'straight-up silicon' - do you mean you used silicon ONLY or silicon mixed with wet and wild? I'm tempted to try silicon that I have for other kinds of artwork (cosmetic grade) because why buy something I don't need? But then. at the moment I only have two bottles and don't want to ruin one. Silicon is a primary ingredient in this hair shiners and smoothers.

    • @KyongLee
      @KyongLee  5 років тому +1

      I've tried both, straight up silicone oil and mixing it with polish. My results were inconsistent. Sometimes it worked great and sometimes I couldn't get cells. If you want to try, dirty pour method seems best, plus you don't need to mix into an existing polish, just the cup.

      Sometimes but it can be hard to place with a stamper since the decals are opaque. It's easier if you cut them down some. Often I place them on my nail and then use a squishy stamper to press them down evenly.

    • @friaxh
      @friaxh 5 років тому +1

      @@KyongLee It may be the first ingredient, which is also a silicone. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm thinking it may be an evaporating silicone/solvent. Neutrogena oil free eye makeup remover has some in it. It separates and floats to the top and you can use an eyedropper to get it out.

    • @KyongLee
      @KyongLee  5 років тому +1

      I like the clear version because you can do any color combo without creating new colored versions every time. However, clear is a little trickier to work with. You have to be careful to not create holes (blank spots) in the fluid art with the clear. Does that make sense?

    Awesome! I’ve been watching a lot of painters who work in fluid art as their preferred medium and a lot of them use the Garnier Fructis anti frizz hair serum to get cells as it’s so much cheaper than like treadmill oil and the like esp given they use a lot more of it than we would because they create these super large paintings with all these different pouring techniques to get different size cells, different amounts of cells, different types of cells & different cell “rings” which is so sooo cool so if y’all ever are just stumped as to how to create the look you want or where to begin or just maybe want some insp on your nail art just type in fluid art into UA-cam & you will find some cool tutorials! I’ve learned so much esp about getting cells because I got these transforming top coats a few years ago when they 1st came out and I had no idea why I couldn’t get them to work & at the time there just were not a lot of nail artists using them esp because most nail artists were actually nails tech or being sponsored by a certain nail product line, or they were only doing their own nail product lines & thus using UA-cam as a marketing tool to advertise what their products could do. So very few nail tutorials were available and I ha e learned so much from watching these artists and mixing what I learned with the nail artists have really helped me to take an idea or nail product & make it my own! I encourage everyone to take a look at artists if you are able to and just see what’s out there you can really learn a lot it just about this type of technique but about alcohol painting and the like. Thanks for sharing this info with us today I’m so excited to try my hand w/making my own diy trftc!
