  • What's all the fuss with the Woodpeckers Dado Nut? Why does invoking the name cause flames to emit out of some people's ears? What is it and how was it made. Let me show you what the Dado Nut looks like and how it works. Then, you can decide if it's worth the price.
Oh, and I just had to use this thumbnail! I'm not really into AI, but this was hilarious! Did you see the arbor sticking out of the chunk of wood!! Hahaha! The only prompt was "Woodpeckers Dado Nut"

Wonder if this would facilitate running a small dado stack (like the CMT one in this video) on a SawStop CTS? (Aside from potential warranty invalidation issues, safety brake size / function concerns, etc. I probably just talked myself out of it.)

LOL! Probably a good choice! Hmmm...On a CTS? Can it even use a dado break? You can't run a dado without a dado brake. The arbor knows! Haha! That's why this is my second saw. My first was DOA as the arbor was not detecting the blade. Had to wait another week to get the saw replaced. I wouldn't try it.

Nothing safe about wearing all the jewelry around the table saw.

Whatever, she didn't even turn on any equipment. She can have jewelry in her shop. Get a life.

    Just... no.
First, it's only for SawStop. That eliminates 90% of table saw users.
Second, you had plenty of arbor to use your regular washer. Unless you build your stack to a full 3/4" it's pretty pointless.
Third, dado stacks have been used for decades without a $45 nut. That makes it doubly pointless.
Like most of Woodpecker's stuff it's an over priced and unnecessary gadget.

Case in point. No, not at all necessary and I stated that. The video was not to convince someone to get one, but to show what it is so others can make that financial decision on their own. What other's do with their money is none of my business. Yes, it's just for the SawStop. So, it's not ok to make things or review single use objects? Lastly, I didn't take the time to put on a full dado stack as I know the viewers are pretty smart and can understand the difference between a 1/4" dado stack and a 3/4".

@@renaissancewoodworking Of course you're entitled to buy whatever you like. Likewise, you can make any video you like.
The criticism isn't directed at you, but at Woodpecker's. Charging $45 for a nut, washer, and snap ring is absurd. Especially since it's completely unnecessary.
The original washer works fine unless the dado is expanded to 3/4" and dados work fine without any washer at all.
Who at Woodpecker's thought this was a good idea for anything but making money?

@@ST-0311 I totally agree. I think it was a good idea to solve something that make people nervous. I agree the price, as with most of their stuff, is way too high. This and the small drill press fence I got for $60 is all I have of their's and all I will probably ever have. But, Capitalism. They won't sell many if people are not willing to pay it. Then, it will be a one off thing and you will see people try and sell them on Amazon and Ebay for $100 as "rare". LOL
