We really liked the "Old Testament/New Testament" kind of interpretation. It was not meant to be that way tbh but it is a very very interesting way of looking at it! Thanks again for taking the time to look and comment our stuff. Hail Odin our Lord!
Love you dudes! Thanks for stopping in! You’ll definitely be getting more videos on this channel. Hahaha
Hail Odin
Gloria! (gloria) Gloria! (gloria) Let us pray to Odin our Lord!
Hey guys.
The whole thing is brilliant, but I'd like to point out the shema Yggdrasil part.
Aside from being hilarious, it has surprisingly deep layers, and I thank you for that.
@@Maccullenj Well thanks for noticing that! Indeed we are pretty proud about that bit
Nanowar of Steel is the Monty Python of metal bands. They take their music, chords, jams, and riffs very seriously...... but that's where the serious STOPS!!! Jokes for days and jams for years. Simply fantastic stuff.
I never considered that. But now I can't get it out of my head.
One quick note:
FALEGNAME means "carpenter" in italian. They play with the words Falegn-amen 😂
It gets even better when you realise the hebrew bit is actually a parody of a prayer: "Sh'ma Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Eḥad" - "Hear, O Israel: the LORD is our God, the LORD is One."
Finally, someone that noticed
Nanowar of Steel - "Norwegian Reggaeton" or "And Then I Noticed That She Was A Gargoyle" next!
OR you could do Nanowar of Steel - "Sneezetem of a Yawn." It was released this year as a "pandemic song" so it would be funnier if you did the reaction while wearing a face mask 🤣🤣🤣
@@frankjuggaloheathen1035 but Tank's beard is the reason the channel is doing so well!
UA-cam SUBTS!! Funniest parts are in spanish
"And then I noticed she was a gargoyle" is their best balad...
"Heavy metal kibbles"
In the tv in the background you can see the movie "Trading Places" (with Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy)...here in Italy it's considered a traditional xmas movie and it's aired every xmas eve on tv...fun fact the italian title is not a translation of the original...it's called "Una Poltrona Per Due" (an armchair for two) ...another pun/joke about furniture made by Nanowar in this video.
Heh... that is interesting! In Sweden we also have one of those movies that for some reason just became a tradition to show on tv each year around Christmas/New Year. But for us that movie is Ivanhoe (the 1982 version), it was first shown on tv here on the 31st of December 1982, and ever since it has been shown every year somewhere between Christmas and New Year. I was born in 1979, so I grew up with this movie, it is the nr 1 reason why Knights have become my favorit warriors from history. XD
Speaking of which... I have not yet seen it this year yet... so... I think I am going to go watch Ivanhoe now... it's just something that has to be done. XD
As many reactions as I have watched for this masterpiece, NO ONE has commented on the 'knisa gray is better than Sasha Grey' line.
Commenting on it is an admission of guilt. Hahahaha
I;m sure I have seen someone comment, but maybe they do just all laugh and pretend not to know.
I've seen one other reactor comment on that line. I believe he said "I wonder who that is," with a wink and a nod.
That song is bonkers. Its lyrical progression is hilarious, what starts as an ode to Odin quickly devolves, or evolves, into an ad for IKEA.
That's easily one of my favorite christmas songs.
I think it might be second best Christmas song, losing only to Sabaton's Screaming Eagles(It counts as Christmas song the same way Die Hard counts as Christmas movie)
"Exclusive SECOND Time Roadie Reaction!" Odin is playing a Stanley Mjolnir 3000 with custom grip, one of my favorite giant god-hammers.
FYI: the "falegn-amen" line, towards the end, plays with the words falegname and amen. Falegname means carpenter, and from here it's a simple connection to christianity :)
This song = immediate good mood.
Valhalleluja was released on the 'Stairway to Valhalla' LP album, because it contains an extra Bonus-CD, which features 'Valhalleluja' as a bonus-track !
And than i noticed she was a gargoyle next please.
It's amazing!
Yes please
yeah, mee too
Yup! Would love to see that
Im Swedish and this song nails all the facts 😂 the one line with the meatballs was a big scandal when it came out. Marketed as regular meatballs with meat from cow and pig, someone found traces of horsemeat in them. Don't know why it was such a big deal since horsemeat still taste good 😉 and i always watch the reactors face on the Sasha Grey line too 😏 Norwegian Reggaeton is equally funny 😂 otherwise Baroness - Chlorine and Wine 😁
in some countries its illegal to eat horse meat.
and also it needs to say in the indigence list what it contains, by law, and also the products origin.
The horse meat was Bulgarian and came on the market because they banned horse carts on lots of kinds of road. They used medications on the horses that are banned for food animals like Phenylbutazone.
Horsemeat is pretty tasty. I would describe it as about halfway between beef and venison.
You can tell the ones who recognise who she is and then try really hard not to make it obvious.
Not everyone likes horse meat. It tastes of iron.
Another fun reaction as usual.
Makes me want to see a new Gloryhammer or Alestorm reaction.
The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee is a must do 😀🤘
Yes more gloryhammer
"The land of unicorns" "siege of dunkheld" or "the fires of ancient cosmic destiny" would made my day🤣
More Nanowar!
*Barbie MILF princess of the twilight ft. FABIO LIONE (Rhapsody)*
Fabio doing a parody of himself in a parody of a Rhapsody song.
Awesome
That song cracked me up the first time i listened to it. For a second I was so confused because I thought "hey, Rhapsody!" And it just wasn't :D it's awesome
Good one! Although, how about an actual reaction to Rhapsody first, I don't think there are any on either Tank's or Chases channels. Which is a shame, in my book, they are as great as Nightwish, or even better. Differences would be exchange of Amazon godess singer to Weird Al lookalike Fabio Lione (not bad at all either) and Tuomas very inspired, personal and thoughtful lyrics to Fantasy world theme lyrics. Otherwise everything checks out, compositional geniuses, symphonic arrangements, big cinematic sound and brilliant musicians.
@@christianlofgren5814 I was taking for granted he knew about Rhapsody, maybe he is not a dragons and forests power metal type of guy
Tommy "ReinXeed" Johansson is a Swedish vocalist and guitarist known for his work as a guitarist for Swedish metal band Sabaton and as lead vocalist and guitarist of the band Majestica (formerly ReinXeed), a power metal band from Boden, Sweden. They have a metal christmas album out now. Ghost of christmas past, and ghost of marley are awsome. Tommy, his voice is gonna surprice you.
Just listened to the new single. Oh man it was good!
that christmas themed power metal album is so good
The Christmas album is great, but I would also suggest that u react also to "above the sky" from them...
@@joaolima2935 that is also another great song. Tommys pipes in this is amazing, and the bass solo...🧨
Saw them in Italy, one of the most skilled and funniest bands ever! The made a lot of italian songs (they are italians), parodies of several things for our country and in general other things, such as 400 Calci (parody of fighting movies), Bestie di Seitan (parody for vegans), Giorgio Mastrota (parody of one (in)famous italian tv seller for sofas and couches), Il Cacciatore della Notte (parody of a species of howl), and Feudalesimo e Liberta' (parody of a parodistic political party addressing a return of feudalistic society).
English-wise, their last album is entirely in English, some of the best are The Call of Cthulhu and my favorite Vegan Velociraptor.
PS: in the song, they say Falegn-Amen. Perhaps for non-italian speakers this sound senseless. "Falegname" is carpenter, and it refers, obliviously to both IKEA and Saint Joseph, putative father of Jesus. Amen is... well, amen. Hence, the separation of falegn-amen XD
PS2: at the end, you can see in the television the movie Trading Places. This is because, for unknown reasons, it has been hired in Italian TV at every single Christams since, becoming one of the most "christmasty" movie in Italy ever.
bravo impeccabile! mi sono appena chiesto se anche loro condividessero una poltrona per due come base culturale natalizia
My only problem with the lyrics is that they missed a joke. Odin should not sing "I'm a Gentlegod", but instead "I'm a Djentlegod". Just for that one EXTRA joke. It bums me out all the time that its not the official lyrics, but oh well.
I don't get it... XD
Man! Corrupted files are the worst! That's probably totally unrelated to my problem, on my own obscure and tiny YT-channel: all my old videos (uploaded like 7-10 years ago) are corrupted, which they were NOT way back then, when they were new. YT must have done something with the old material somewhere along the line, like compressed and then decompressed? Anyway, a corrupted file destroys joy where-ever and when-ever it pops up its ugly head! But we're happy you uploaded this version, not EVERYTHING needs to be a "first time react"-video. You put in good data and enthusiastic comments throughout your videos, and they are a joy to watch. Having pushed this (as many of your loyal followers do in the comments) I would really love to see you put on Devin-videos where you comment stuff and tell us why you, too, love that man and his work...
Uranus. I think it's a good nostalgia trip to childhood.
Swede here, cracked up alot from the systembolaget and the pipi långstrump hair cut that the guitarist was rocking at the end.
I am now irrationally disappointed that Tank had a pirate ship on his christmas sweater, as opposed to, you know... ;-P
I bet Sabaton must have produced something like that at some point xD
I just love the Shema Yggdrasil part. Excellent example of the smaller, more obscure and oddball references NanowaR of Steel like to put into their songs.
I really think you ll enjoy The Call Of Cthulhu by Nanowar of Steel.
This ouitfit is just insanely great. Valhallelujah made my Christmas play list.
Amon Amarth in the background tho... fucking love it... i'd like to see you reaction for Twilight of the thundergod for Amon.
Man, Valhallelujah is already a year old ? Daaaamn...
And very good point on the evolution of the song from "violent Ancient Testament" to "eeeh, let's try to portray our religion as a more tolerant and modern one New Testament". Never crossed my mind.
Oh and random recommendation to eventually add to your list : Myrath - Beyond the Stars (live in Carthage), to add Tunisia to your list of country. :)
I showed the music video to my Swedish friend, and he caught a couple of references that I didn't. You mentioned Systembolaget, but he also noticed one of the guitar players at the end wearing a Pippi Longstocking wig. For reasons.
"Did it, lost it, wanted it in my channel, so redid it, labeling it as such" is perfectly aceptable in my book, man.
Love the Blues Brothers parody in the last part of that song. :-D
I love them! Norwegian Reggaeton is my fave, music video is just perfect 😂
Veal Fatina, Lasagna, grilled Zucchini and Peppers, Olive Oil and Balsamic salad, fresh pane(bread), Tiramisu for desert. The perfect Italian Christmas meal 🤤
I'll sing Valhalleluja for that!
Don't miss that they sample the tune from Sydney Poitier's "Amen" in the "Vittsjo" section.
Now we've got a new X'mas song other than "No Present for Christmas" by mighty King Diamond.
Funbfact about Thomas Winkler. Did you know he is working as Notary when not being on tour?
Around 11:21 - ish I get some Blues Brothers vibes, like the scene when they "see the light" in James Browns curch.
I Took a pause from building a new IKEA kitchen, and fell into This!!! 😂😂😂
You fool, you have reacted to something involving Gloryhammer, which means I am forced to bring up how they toured with my favorite band Æther Realm! That's right, I'm back to pester you into eventually reacting to:
- The Magician
- Slave to the Riff
- The Sun, the Moon, The Stars
I absolutely love your channel and analysis, and this is all in good fun. Keep up the entertaining and informative stuff!
The best and funniest song ever! Its the best x mas song! And it is like watching my family and friends taking it to the extremes on holidays 🇳🇴🤪😂👌🏼 Awesome band! Awesome reaction as always man! 👏🏼👏🏼✌🏼🔥😊 Hail Odin!
This is my families christmas song XD its so unbelievable amazing. TANK you very much for doing it XD
Majestica - any of their new Christmas songs such as Ghost of Christmas Past. They are releasing a whole Christmas Power Metal album! Their other stuff is amazing too. Loved the Above the Sky album from start to finish.
The movie in the background is Trading Places. Great Christmas movie, and thematically relevant.
The guitar solo bit reminded me a lot of the solo in GNR November rain video. Great band!
I see a copy of "Human:||:Nature" back there. It would be interesting to see your reactions to those songs when they get to playing them live.
Swedens new national anthem😄. For more holliday feelings, try Majestica: Ghost of Marley, and Ghost of christmas past.
@Tank,this band is so much fun and totally metal!
Check out Parkway Way Drive - Bottom Feeder and Killswitch Engage - Signal Fire. I think you would like them both. Good music and instruments you can talk about.
Fun fact: there's a really good pun, which is really hard to get if you're not italian. I'll try to explain it, hopefully it will be still funny.
At one point, during the valhalleluja chanting choir they say FALEGN-AMEN. Well, in italian falegname means carpenter and here they join falegname with amen. I actually laugh the shit out me first time I heard this song!hope I made my self clear, though! :)
I love nanowar, saw them multiple times live and they never cease to amaze me! Very nice guys too! Hail to Nanowar of Steel and greetings from Italy!
Nice! Thanks for the explanation!
I showed this song to my mom and she absolutely cracked up.
Nanowar of Steel is absolutely hilarious.
Perfect song for Christmas!!!
I feel you and me got similar taste of heavy music, if you haven't ever heard of Edguy, please give it a try!
We don't need a hero, Mysteria, Lavatory lovemachine and King of fools are my favorite songs!
And from there it's a very small step to Avantasia.
@@darkiee69 True Avantasia is great too^^, Edguy doesnt really have very good live videos but studio versions are really good to check it out!
Hell yeah, I can only second Edguy (and Avantasia aswell)! Both great bands.
another fun detail is that one of the guitarists has their hair done like popular swedish childrens book character pippi langströmpe. its the guy with the red wig.
Best....IKEA....commercial....EVER!!!
And remember kids, knisa grey is better than Sasha Grey! (Shame she didn't have a cameo in the video)
a real oversight, she would have been great!
And a lot of reacters to the video don't get it.
@@klaymor73 bless their souls... so innocent.
@@klaymor73 they get it, but they try to play it dumb as much as they can
Kinsha Grey?
Love it! I remember cracking up so hard when Chase did this song and I heard it for the first time. Immediately looked up all off their other videos, so hilarious.
By the way, just noticed the Nightwish Human Nature album at the back... did ya listen to it yet? :)
I haven't, yet! But I will!
I also heard this for the first time watching Chase's reaction. 😅
This is the ultimate Christmas song.
I like part parody of The Blues Brother of Jake's and Elwood's dance in the church with the priest... James Brown
Signs of the swarm-Perinicous
props for your honesty
now you gotta do some more gloryhammer too
Great video as always Tank :) next time you check out Nanowar you should do Norwegian Reggaton and/or And Then I Noticed She Was A Gargoyle. Best wishes from Norway and happy holidays
il metal e il gospel e' un connubio squisito
Dude- Christmas album.. check out Majestica's A Christmas Carol. Some good ol power metal Christmas awesomeness
The only Christmas song worth playing.
Wrong. "Christmas Truce" and "Yule Fiddler" are also on my playlist.
Shout out integrity guy!
"Ironmonger" is great. Probably my second or third favorite. Other than that I also like "Poser"
I just realized how long your beard it getting!! 🤣😂
Best. Christmas. Song. Ever!
The joke about the horse meatballs is a hint to a scandal some years ago when one of Sweden's largest producers of frozen food, Findus, was found to have significant amounts of horse meat in their lasagna and meatballs...
Best... Ikea.... Ad.... EVER!
This is fantastic!! Did you catch the reference to The Blues Brothers movie with the gospel choir at the end? Watch it sometime, you'll see what I mean. Love these guys! 😁 🤘😎🤘
I didn't even start the video, but I'm so happy to see you react to this
Objection, your honor: the most quintessential viking metal band ever is probably Bathory, just for the fact that Quorthon basically single-handedly created the subgenre. Other than that, great reaction. Praise Knopparp!
5:49 to 6:13 For those who didn't notice, this is a a clear parody of Army of the Night from PowerWolf.
Huh, I thought the dish they served in the beginning was "Janssons frestelse" - a very classic traditional Swedish Christmas dish, it looked similar at least!
Maybe. I thought it was Lasagna. Hahaha
I can confirm it is not lasagna :)
I bet Tank would be a great Santa Claus.
This is a silly thought, but I just learned that Mohammed Abdul actually lives not very far from my place near Milano (with "not very far" I actually mean one or two towns over). Well Winkler is Swiss and the third nearest Ikea we have is actually in Switzerland. Plus he lives in the town where Ikea opened the first Italian store. Which is all absolutely silly of me.
Norwegian Reggaeton (with the subtitles in case you don't know any Spanish). Fun fact: they wanted to sing in Eurovision as the Spain's song this year, but they weren't chosen.
Odin's blessings to you for proceeding with filming with this music video even though it didn't work out the first time around
Baaah, what bad news.
The special thing I love about "reaction" videos is the 1st time reaction to see how react someone to a song, he's/she's nerver listen to. Especially to "Nanowar of steel - Valhalleluja. I've loved your '1st ever' reaction to Jinjer, Sabaton and your 1st 'Nanowar' video and it gaves me so much fun and entertaiment. Really it's a bit sad, because this video deserves a 1st time reaction imho.
However, "the child felt into the well" as we say in germany, I wish you had a lot of fun during watching the video the 1st time, I've laughin' my ass off :)
Since I'm italian I can say you that the "FALEGN-AMEN" it is an italian pun that fuse the words "falegname"(translated = carpenter) and "Amen".... and for me it is hylarious AF
There's a Finnish (mostly, there are some great guest singers) Christmas song project called Raskasta Joulua/ Ragnarok Juletide, filled with great talent, that tours Finland Christmas time(This year they are doing a streamed concert) and usually they do a TV performance that's shown in Christmas Eve. Marko Hietala
, J.P. Leppäluoto, Tony Kakko, Jarkko Ahola, Elize Ryd and Floor Jansen are few names that might sound familiar to you.
So basically Northern Kings and guests? That's awesome. Wish I could get hold of Northern Kings music and would love to see some reactions to them.
They just realeased a video for In The Sky
These guys are great.
You really should react to "Call of Cthulhu" or "Norwegian Reggaeton" by Nanowar of Steel - they are absolutely awesome and hilarious
"Hail to Liechtenstein" and "L'opelatole Ecologico" are also awesome and hilarious btw :D
As always excellent choices for background music in the intro and outro \m/
The sweater is to kill for!!!
Bro, you gotta check out feuerschwanz ding. It will automatically put you in a great mood
Speaking of christmas, check out Majestica's latest album! 😍
I cannot think of anything from Nanowar of Steel, but because of you talking about gear, I would love to hear your input on Aldious, Dominator or Thunder Revenge. Break the Fall was another I believe, and you WILL headbang. I did. Aldious' drummer has 3 kick drums. Never noticed it till another reactor mentioned it. Bridear has some nice looking guitars, Mary's Blood....I don't remember. I remember liking them. Fate Gear is cool for Steampunk, and the sound ain't bad. Also, want your input on Salamin by Slapshock.... first song I listened to by the band.
The songs Thunder Revenge and Break the Fall may be by Lovebites. I am drunk and tired, that's my excuse for my mistake...
That...is a spectacular sweater.
Fantastic reaction and a very funny tune, great sweater by the way Tank! 🎄 I first came across Nanowar Of Steel with the song Norwegian Reggaeton. Which is a brill parody on black metal. 🤘🏻🙂
If you buy enough IKEA furniture you can make that Marble Music Machine with the leftovers. Fun track and good comments.
Hey Tank! Ever listened to Sons of Apollo? A group consisting of Mike Portnoy, Bumblefoot, Jeff Scott Soto, Derek Sherinian and Billy Sheehan. I recommend the song Goodbye Divinity to start with. Also another band I would like you to listen to is my absolutely favourite band Freak Kitchen from Gothenburg, Sweden (pay special attention to this trio, a little trivia is that Freak Kitchen has performed at Sweden Rock Festival than any other band) Another great band from Gothenburg is Evergrey. They are epic also.
I'm not bothered by you doing a second time reaction to it since you came out and told us. Plus since you out the work in to react to it in the first place. Just sucks that the first time reaction is gone. I'm sure it was priceless lol
Is it just me or did the part "Hear my voice this is Odin calling you" sound like Powerwolf's Army of the Night?
Great reaction Tank. Another song I thought of that would be cool to see you check out... Arch Enemy - Nemesis live at Wacken 2016
I still find it hillarious that Angus McFife has day job as a bloody notary ... I mean, a bloody serious and dull notary. Never thought of those guys to be that funny.
Respect for admitting this isn't a first time reaction. Ill say theres other UA-camrs outthere who do "FTR" to "Tom Sawyer" by Rush, and Im like, you honestly expect me to buy this. But thats why Im here because I can see its genuine.
you must react to this years new christmas songs by Majestica!!
