I have just turned 60 and am also on a weight loss journey and have lost about 20kg so far. I need to buy clothes that look smart but don’t cost the earth- as ( fingers crossed) I will go down further in size and need even more new clothes! I want to thank you for opening my eyes to the fashions I can find locally, in Kmart, Target and Big W , and more importantly- how to style them. Many years of being stuck in the “ if they are a size 24 or above they ONLY wear black” category has meant it’s been a challenge to learn to buy new styles and colours and your reviews and guidance really have helped. Your personal style is just amazing and your positivity is wonderful. Thank you. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying you have helped me so very much. 😊😊

I’ve found Target quality superior to Kmart. My Kmart jumpers balled up after one wear. Not so with Target.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with Target’s self-service. It can be frustrating when shopping experiences change. I hope you find other places that work better for you and your family. Though I feel that's now the way of the future, so many stores are moving to self check out I was at Uniqlo recently and you don't even have to scan the products, just place them in the bagging section and it automatically identifies the product and price and sums it all up for you 🤯😚😚

Not controversial at all, I have always liked the quaity of products and the brands available at BigW more then Kmart, especially in the makeup & skincare section. Their clothing and linen is better quality and lasts longer. Please more regular BigW videos Deb 🙂🙏

It seems to me that there are more Kmart stores than Big W or at least here in Melbourne. So that could be why there are more videos on Kmart. But I would love to see more Big W content. Also I agree with the sizing at Kmart. A few weeks ago I tried on some T-shirt’s and even the XL is too small for me. So I’ll either go for the plus size or buy it in the men’s.
It’s true, Kmart seems to have a larger presence, which might explain the higher volume of content. Big W does have some great finds, though, so I’m glad you’re interested in seeing more of that! The sizing issues can definitely be frustrating-going for plus sizes or checking out the men's section is a smart solution, and easier on the wallet too. 😚😚
Big W closed a lot of their stores a few years ago. Including the one in my town. I’ve been online ordering from big w this year. You’re right about the plus sizes in Kmart. They’re really unappealing and dowdy.

@Deborahafter50 it was nice to see those dresses on you. I've seen them online. But I'm sticking to summer basics next order and see how they go compared to the target ones. One thing I noticed was that big W avella is quite roomy so I have to size down. Good for my ego 😄

Yes, 7 years ago when i was 139kg it was hard for me to fing plus sizing clothes including underwear, bras too.
Now i am about a 16/18, sometimes pants 14/16.
So been there before. More varieties now for plus people. Who agrees too.
Absolutely! Plus sizing has come a long way, there's still room for improvement, but I guess change takes time right? Congratulations on your weight loss my dear, I bet it wasn't easy, so kudos to you for your perseverance 😍😍😚😚
I find the shapes are not flattering for the plus sizes, short sleeves, high round necks and very short dresses. I occasionally find something nice but that’s not very often. I think the buyers need to do a lot research about what suits a fuller figure and is fashionable. Mostly I feel that stores forget about us and I feel disrespected.
I hear you-it’s really frustrating when clothing options don’t seem to cater well to different body types. It’s so important for brands to offer a variety of styles that are both flattering and fashionable for everyone. Your feedback is valuable, and hopefully, more stores will take it into account and start offering a better selection for plus sizes. If you find any brands or styles that work well, I’d love to hear about them! so that I can share them on my channel 🌟
Bunnings have fantastic out door cushions covers in black and white stripe also other colours I’ve had them for over 12 months and they still look fantastic

I always enjoy a look around Big W, they have more brands on offer than Kmart who as you mentioned tend to stick mainly the Anko brand products. We are fortunate to have both at Westfield Doncaster so it’s convenient to browse both. Btw LOVED that blue and white summer dress on you, very flowy and feminine. Definitely would enjoy seeing more Big W shopping trips. Thanks for this one.

I love BigW! Last summer I bought most of my summer dresses from BigW, including a few denim dresses and I got so many compliments when I wore them.
The flower Lego sets are easy to keep dust free in a display cabinet or by blowing them with a hairdryer. I use the hairdryer trick on my faux plants to dust them too 🙂

Big W sizes seem to be smaller. I'm a 20 in standard but in Big W have to go to their plus size. Good to know the range is going through all sizes. I believe Best & Less does that (none near here). In the country there seems to be more Big Ws though they seem to be closing down. Yes to more content . There's on right down the road

Thank you for the tour of Big W. I haven't been to a Big W store for a while but I will go in future. Sadly Kmart is lacking a lot when it comes to Plus sizing. I find that, on average, the Plus size offerings are boring and shapeless. Occasionally I will find a gem, but, more often than not I leave disappointed.

I've got some great basics at Big W and the plus is you can use your Woolies redemption card. They also stock quite a few brands of underwear including Bonds. For convenience you can buy and pick up in 24 hours, a win win. Thanks for highlighting their store. As for make up its always been my go-to store!

Hi Deborah l do like Big W, we have one very close to where l live. Kmart is a bit further, so l do go to Big W quite a lot. I like going to the gym so they have quite good leggings and tops very cheap. I have bought a couple of dresses last year and am very happy with them. Yes the makeup is great also the books. With regards to why Big W doesn’t seem to get the same internet love as Kmart does, I have heard that their massive refresh etc that saved them from the brink of bankruptcy purely by chance happened to occur right around the same time that “mummy bloggers” were realising that they needed to embrace and transition to You Tube and Instagram and so the need to find things to film or photograph rather than writing a whole blog page made the new and exciting Kmart the perfect place to start.
Fast forward a couple of years then the pandemic hit and people stuck at home had the time to truly take in their surroundings and made the most of the time to refresh their décor and Kmart had the variety of products with a the best prices and social media was the only way to show off their new look homes.
I also think Big W was a bit slow off the mark with realising what Kmart was doing to save its self or the flow on effect that would come from that.
From the look of your awesome video, Big W has been working at lifting their game with the home decor but I feel that they were always leagues ahead of Kmart with their beauty and cosmetics departments.

I find a lot of great stuff on sale at big W even for nearly nothing because they always have lots of items on sale/clearance the huge plus I've noticed with the store is it is kept sooo much very cleaner than Kmart one I regularly got to most of the time there's tomes of stuff under the shelves dirt, rubbish & everywhere which probably has been there for months messy shelves with people's empty drink food containers or open products & sometimes missing Floor dirty rubbish ever where it's getting better some days are Kmart's where you live like this

Yeah both kmart and bigw people leave drinks on shelves depending which stores you go to . Even target too. Not as many targets anymore though

Have also looked at best and less. They have fantastic baby /toddler ranges. Sometimes the ladies clothes are ok.

Hi lovely Deborah. I quite like Big W as they are better stocked as you say. Their cosmetic section runs rings around K Mart and it just seems less messy and less packed in as K MART. The trouble is that it is quite a distance from where we live. It is in Karingal, at least half an hours drive. 😘❤❤ xx

Clearance items i often do an online, click and collect, sometimes delivery as most times each order only charge $9 per order

My local shopping centre had a Target and Big W but recently changed the Target to Kmart. I really miss Target. I go to Big w quite often but hardly ever Kmart.
I totally understand missing Target! It has its own unique selection, and sometimes it's hard when your favorite stores change. It's great that you still have a Big W nearby, though. Hopefully, you can find some gems there to make up for the change! 😊😚😚

Each time i go to Big W i look at the clothes but don't usually try much on as they always look creased but after seeing you in them i think i will be more adventuress next time. They don't have a large enough section for older girls though which is a shame, so to Kmart for those.

I hate those wide legged pants , you have to be tall to wear them, that's my opinion. They had slacks which were straight legged they looked lovely on, will they bring them back .

Big w clothes have always been better than knart. Smart items I wear 2x and they need to go in the bin due to holes...big w 7 yrs on with the same brand and their great fie home.

Kmart products are crap and now they are supplying the same Kmart rubbish in Target. Won’t go to either. Then they wonder why people shop on line at places like Amazon instead of in store.

Kmart is basically Temu. Kmart clothing never quite fits properly. Big W definitely has better quality in most things altho their Opennook brand of manchester is not great.

The big W and Kmart in the hunter valley (Maitland and Greenhills) are absolutely crap. Since I moved to this inbred country town I swear the Kmart and big W get in all the crap that doesn't sell in other Kmart's and big W. And it's all small sizes as well.
Oh nooo, that sounds so disappointing! That's such a pity. I had the fortune to travel to the Hunter Valley maaaany years ago with work and I remember it to be such a glorious part of our country, but I have to admit I never went shopping there. It must be so frustrating to deal with that! It’s such a letdown when you go into stores and find the selection lacking, especially with the sizing issues. Everything we are looking at is just Chinese rubbish. Very sad really. If you were as old as me you would remember the days when we made beautiful clothes in Australia and kitchen gadgets that lasted forever. Everything is just disposable. I refuse to buy their low quality clothing and just browse Charity Stores.
