  • Jacob Grey is mainly known for making high end rifles and components, but their background with precision machining means they know how to make parts right. Being this is their first entry to the pistol market they decide to take a different approach and do an aluminum frame AND grip right off the bat! This is geared towards the high end carry market and it shows. Elegant grip, optic ready, night sights, it's really ready to go out of the box. Check out the video to see details and of course how it shoots.

      I feel like you’re being nice. It looks like a dollar store version of any decent 2011. Hopefully they fix it up before final production

    Would a 4.2 Dawson guide rod work in it?

    Really nice looking gun. I am currently in the market for a double stack 1911/2011. Those grips look like they don't taper in the thumb-forefinger area; do they taper at all? And, is there a generous trigger guard undercut? I have felt the Springfield Prodigy. It felt very comfortable because of those two features. You have a good amount of time on the Prodigy. I would like to hear your comparison of ergonomics.

      Ria tac fs hc 9mm, just got it this week very surprised with the quality for sub $800
      Bul armory is one of my favorite 2011s . Havent touch a prodigy yet but i hear their very decent now.
      Platypus 19111 ds - take glock mags
      Alpha foxtrot s15- glock mags
      Live free armory apollo 11- sub $900
      Girsan witness 2311 -sub$900
      Honestly the market is growing. You cant go wrong with anyone

      Yeah, don't buy that junk the video. Dom beat me to it... RIA Tac Ultra FS 9mm is one of the best inexpensive guns there are. RIA's PH plant built the chassis that many popular US gun companies used long ago, before stateside CNC was cheaper.
      After you get used to the gun, send it to Hayes Gunworks for a full workover, and you'll get back a staccato level gun for half or less.

      @@m4rvinmartian highly recommend. Im going the dsc gunworks route with the island port conversion😎.
      I find i pefer double stack 1911s over 2011s. Im big guy , so weight is not an issue. Looking to purchsde another ria tac ultra fs hc next week.

    Hey there, you made a video on the Hard Head Veterans Helmet you got. Would be nice to see a long term use review after the 2+ years the video has been up, aswell as maybe see you in "action" with it on.

    Needs a lighter in design hammer, improved beveling on that magwell, and, a little more blending under the trigger-guard/magazine release. If they run an LE program I would be interested. I like it.

    Thank you for your video! Did you have any issues with the grip being too small or slippery? Did you try shooting in wet conditions? How did the TWC9 compare to the Staccato P? If there is one negative on You Tube about this pistol, it is the smooth grip. What are your thoughts? Thank you. JP

    • @XDWX
      @XDWX 3 місяці тому

      The grip isnt actually smooth. Ive seen lots of comments about that. It feels like some kind of micro texture almost like 3000 grit sandpaper. Its very grippy.

    Dave I found as I fire myTWC-9. The backstrap or Thumb safeties hurt my hand. I not sure if its the if my grip is the problem or what. I do have a high grip and don't want to change it. This is my first impression . I dont have any problem with the texture of the grip. At this time i only have 50 rounds thur it.

      I no longer have my sample but was told that they are improving the blending. Reach out and see if they can help you out and report back.

      Known issue that has already been addressed in production. I would contact Jacob Grey. They will retrofit for you, for sure.

    the front profile is mean looking.. wow nice unit.
    please tell them to do grip panels like some do.. right side palm swell, flat on the other or swell pushed forward a bit.

    • @evernhamanderson
      @evernhamanderson Місяць тому

      Can't do grip panels without increasing the size of the grip. One of the special things about the TWC is that even as a double stack, even in all-metal, it maintains the original 1911 GI grip dimensions.

      Gonna have to agree on the texturing. Best feeling gun grip I’ve ever felt was 25LPI front & back with the Railscales Agent 2 grips on a single stack. Next level and nothing has come close. Fun looks different enough at least. Definitely going to wait for an update to that frame texture though.

    • @GunsandTactics
      @GunsandTactics  6 місяців тому

      I was hoping so, when I left LE the goal was to be doing this full time. Around a year ago I was pulled in to another role that needed my main attention so sadly G&T had to take a step back. Hoping to get back to some more regular content, might not be as in depth as I am used to or would like but I think that will be ok.

    It looks cheap, from the front/rear serrations to the grip. They should of left the front end/full dust rail and slide alone, no ball cut. Better simple old school 1911 Colt front/rear serrations style, that grip looks very cheap and the lack of side texture is just dumb. Not worth the $2500.
