I have a 2018 XLT F-150 with the 8" screen display and the speakers are horrendous. I did replace all speakers and put an amplifier and now I am very happy with it. Come to your channel to find out I missed the dash speaker. Never knew I had one.!!! Thanks for the video.!!!
You can hear the Pioneer speaker better because it's drawing twice the power from the radio's amplifier. As long as you don't crank it up past 3/4 volume (most factory radio's clipping point) you should be fine. You could always add a small 4 Ohm 25W resistor on the positive side to quiet it down and bring it back to 8 Ohms. Not the best way , but it works fine. I'm doing the exact same thing with the same speaker next week.
My center is B&O and is super nice. So nice that you cannot hear the other ones... I think for the Lariat and up owners what we need is to upgrade all of the rest, to follow the center one quality.
I’ve been interested in upgrading the center channel because I really can’t hear mine much. I have the same exact truck as you. If you can really hear a difference I’ll pay you for the second one, no problem.
My '17 250 had the sony system and my'19 king ranch has the B/O system and the difference is like night and day. I would think the speakers are higher quality in the B/O set up.
@@ricardosworkshop I would think you would be fine at low volume, but you may reach amp limitations at half the level as the original set-up. Or to be safe, you may be able to add a 4 ohm resister to be wired in series with the speaker. Or just use it as I think that is what I would do.
I would describe this as how not to wire a speaker or how to take apart your dash using the wrong tools because you won’t spend $8 bucks for proper trim tools.
Ricardo compa I need that speaker carnal I’ll pay for the speaker and the shipping is not going to far from Houston to Gonzales tx that ain’t to bad or I can go pick it up thanks nice videos man
instead of cutting the wire, you could of just desoldered it and then soldered it to the new speaker. if you send me the speaker I will show you how and make an video for you
I do this a lot I’ll take the factory plug in from factory speaker and clip it to keep the quick connection soilder it to the new speaker and you can plug it in like stock
It appears all the 3.5" Sony Center Speaker are 8-OHMs and the doors are 4-OHMs The Fords equipped with the Premium Sony Sound System, have a font and rear 3.5" Center Speakers that are 8-OHMs wired parallel resulting in 4-OHMs to the Deck/Amp. Systems with single 3.5" Center Speaker will have a Resistor built-in
Your the first person that explains the video just perfect good job I've been wanting to do that to my Ford F-150

Love the vids. Glad I subscribed. Wondering if this being half the ohm, if it will harm the amp any as it will try to pull more power.
Thats a great question... i wouldn't think so but ill let you know in a few.

How do I enable that speaker? 2019 f150 and it didn't have a speaker there but the wires are there. Tried hooking up a speaker but no sound???
Thank you Ricardo! As always great tutorials.

I was always under the impression that you don’t crimp speaker wires you solider them
Like your video on the upgrade I could use that if you still have it

I will buy it off ya! Great tutorial!
Great video buddy
I can’t even hear the center channel speaker.
My fiancé hates when I spend money upgrading my truck. If I win, I would still tell her to blame it on Ricardo. Sorry. Just being honest.
😂😂 i know thats true

Right! That would have been better. Didn't even think of it.
Congrats! This is a great observation... you win the speaker! Email me the address... I'll send it to you in a few days. Thanks!

Should have replaced it with an 8 ohm speaker. It's going to mess up the volume level matching between the rest of your radio.
Where you buying these 8ohm speakers
