  • Dr. Know is an American hardcore band from California, as part of the "nardcore" scene of the 1980s.
    Despite the band's hardcore sound, their "Wreckage in Flesh" release had more thrash metal tendencies than any other album they had put out so far. This is track 8 from that album.
    Music copyright Dr. Know and Metal Blade Records, 1988.

    @darkangyl13 OK, so granted, this is from wiki, but:
    "The same day that Brandon Cruz announced the breakup of the punk Dr. Know, Kyle Toucher announced the reformation of the Wreckage in Flesh era line up. Called DK2010, it features Toucher, Mike Purdy, Tim Harkins, and Larz White."

    IDC what anyone sez nobody, NOBODY else's version even comes close to the greatness of this cover. A lot of my favorite bands have covered it, Soundgarden, monster magnet, Melvins, QOTSA, exhorder etc and honestly all but SG and exhorder are tolerable but even they are shit next to this one. Unfuckingtouchable. Period.

    • @hinjurock
      @hinjurock 4 роки тому +3

      The Exhorder version is too stiff-sounding and the vocals are too extreme metal-ish. The guitar tone is too trebly as well, and the drumming doesn't groove. This version is much closer to the original feel.

    Soundgarden's version is the bestest and jazziest and closest to the original even though Chris Cornell replaced the lyrics with a speech by a Native American Indian Chief.
