The only person I felt bad for was Gerrard. He spent so long at the club when he could have gone to a better club. There was also a lot of pressure and emotions because it was the 25th anniversary of Hillsborough. He felt the most pressure because he was not only the captain of Liverpool, he is also a family member of one of the 96. (His 10 year old cousin, two years older than him, was the youngest to die. They were both footballers, and after his cousin died the rest of the family especially his grandparents pushed all their hopes and expectations on him.) I think the pressure and emotion of the whole situation got to him and made him lose his focus toward the end of the season.

Agreed but you got to have both qualities and Manchester City that season had both great going forward 102 goals scored with Aguero, Dzeko and especially Yaya Touré being very prolific and a great defence 37 goals conceded which was the second best in the league where as Liverpool and Chelsea had 1 but not the other. Liverpool had the attack 101 goals scored but their defence was shocking 50 goals conceded. Whereas Chelsea the third player in this title race had a great defence 27 goals conceded the best in the league that season not a surprise as Jose Mourinho was in charge and his sides were always good defensively but a poor attack cost them just 71 goals scored roughly 30 fewer than both Liverpool and City their strikers Torres, Eto'o and Ba were the main reason why they lost the title with just 19 goals between them (Torres 5, Eto'o 9 and Ba 5). Mourinho sorted the problem in buying Costa the following year and hey presto out popped the title.

We didn't lose the title, it was never ours. We needed to tie vs Chelsea and win the rest to win the title, but Liverpool played beautiful football for the fans and were unlucky. If we would've parked the bus vs Chelsea, we wouldn't have chased the goal difference vs Crystal Palace. I bet your team scored 1/4 of our total.

Coming from a Liverpool fan I'm so disappointed with the sloppiness of our defense. We have been carried through this season by our top quality strikers and forwards, and Jamies right, because the forwards were scoring 4,5 and even 6 goals in some games so they could be naturally shit and let in a few, but they were caught of guard today.
I'm devastated and I feel so sorry for the players who have put in top performances every week, but all there efforts and hard work have been ruined by an absolutely atrocious back four, no sympathy for them at all

But in all honesty, i don't remember the last time Liverpool has a clean sheet. Or two clean sheets. They've conceded so many goals its ridicilous. Even as a Chelsea fan, I don't see why people say that Liverpool lost the title against Chelsea. If they had been able to hang on here, they would have won the title. And holding onto a 3-0 lead against palace is pretty simple compared to beating a mourinho team parking the bus.

Desolate chilling scenes as a liverpool supporter. Yet i keep coming back to this, as a reminder to see where we once were. Life is full of ups and downs, and this was one of the lowest of lows for LFC. Yet its these moments you go through together and come out of, which makes the love and bond stronger

Alex Sander and Gerrard. Years of dedication, passion, service and respect he put in. We all knew in 2014 we wouldn't have him here forever, we knew he was in his last year of playing for Liverpool.
