These are all the things I wish I would've have known prior. They should help a lot. Remember less is more and it isn't about standing out, but rather fitting in.
Please tell: What portable amp are you using, or would you suggest for small venues (like a classroom)? Must also handle a microphone. I sure would appreciate your thoughts. Thks!
Betty Steubing I am very happy with my Fender Acoustasonic 15. It has a 1/4” input (for my uke), a mic input, and a headphone input. EQ controls for bass, mid, and treble plus chorus.
Krista Wells that is a good suggestion. I am a tube amp man, and I like big, loud, heavy and expensive amps. In terms of light, composite portable amps with multiple inputs I would look to Roland Cube Street. I really want one, you can play them with batteries, you can turn them sideways and sit on them, usb input for backing tracks. They are really cool and reasonably priced as they come in different sizes.
I feel SO MUCH BETTER about my ultimate decision for a small, personal practice amp from Roland: Roland MOBILE-AC Battery Power Acoustic Portable Guitar Amp ordered tonight (+ power adaptor). For our uke club, I think we'll go with the larger Roland that handles microphone, too. And hey! Anything you can also SIT on, well...! Thank you guys & Krista & Barry from GotAUke & Shannon from SoundSmith + at least 3 more sellers who very kindly sent suggestions. Whew. Betty in TX
Betty Steubing and TenThumbs, these sound like great suggestions. When I first started trying amps, I wanted to go ultra portable and have the option of using just battery power. I tried a Boss Katana mini because a guitar-playing friend swore by it. I hated it. I wanted a pure sound. The Katana always sounded processed, no matter how I fiddled with the settings. Next I tried a little Honeytone. Cute to look at but cr*p sound. Always fuzzy. I gave up the idea of a battery option and super portable. But I’m happy where I ended up. I love the sound of the Fender and it’s pretty small, about 12”x12”x8”.
That was so much fun!! Learned some things on how to work a ukulele in a band 😃 Keep it rolling 😍
Another well-thought and well-taught lesson, Tyler. Thanks!
Cherry Tang cheers Cherry. Thanks for watching and commenting!
This vid is good timing. For New Years I maybe playing with a drummer and bass player

He did not slap. Hope Davie doesn't see this.
I don't get the joke.
@@TenThumbsProductions don't worry, nothing you did wrong, it was the bassist not slapping that Davie wouldn't approve of
Davie504, one fun, strange UA-cam bass player. Have fun.
what’s with the mullet lol
Making an effort to bring it back. Someone has to fight the good fight.
TenThumbs Productions it’s a worthy cause to fight for
@@evelyndoyle4830 Hahaha, thank you!
