I’ve never been! Looks great!
Thanks Shell glad you enjoyed 🙏
Hi Michelle! Hi Simon! ❤
I really like Hastings! I wonder how it is during the summer? Thanks for taking me on a visit, Simon 🥰
A lot of language students, they're usually there throughout the year, lots of lovely people, the Pirate weekend in July and lots of event. I was once a language student in Hastings and I love the place to bits. I don't have to ask for directions, people are friendly and loving. There's a lady selling fried fresh fish in a bun by the seaside where all the huts are, it's a lovely lunch, and I highly recommend you going there for a bite to eat
We have loads of events over the summer. Alot are free.
I'd love to move down there and become a host family to a language student, as it helped me immensely, showing the student the wonder of British culture
Big events are The Jack in the Green in May, the pirate weekend in July, minor events during the summer holidays, relax at the Goat Ledge opposite St Leonard's Warrior Square, the Bonfire procession in October etc. There was a fire at the arcade, hence why they demolished it, not sure what they're going to build there now. I was a language student in Hastings in 1996-1997 and I also rented my first home there as well
I dearly recommend The Goat Ledge, opposite St Leonard's Warrior Square, by the seaside. Beware the seagulls, they're not at all scared and you get ambushed 😂😂
End of April is when the whole town is preparing for Jack in the Green involving Morris dancing a huge parade and lots of revelly. We have loads going on year round, shame you visited at the wrong time.
I dearly recommend The Goat Ledge, opposite St Leonard's Warrior Square, by the seaside
OMGosh fish and chips!! I love just vinegar and salt, but i could also have it with tartar sauce. In California, we used to get it at H Salt Fish n Chips, the closest i've ever come to England! 😍
Dana one day you need to come visit, you are always welcome and you would have a blast 🙏
@@Jetsetsimon Yes! One day!! 🙌
I suggest you Google Hastings Fat Tuesday, Hastings old town carnival, Hastings pirates weekend and Hastings bonfire. Come and visit another time. The town is colourful and fun. Definitely NOT stuck in the 70s.
I went down in January and people were still playing mini golf, though the weather, when I went down, was a lot better
Glad to hear you enjoyed it, where else to you plan on visiting? Simon
@@Jetsetsimon I live in a seaside town in Suffolk, however Hastings has a special place in my heart and my first home. Going down in July with my kids for the Pirate weekend and dressing up ofc
@@Darkangel-A-c8z I love that, never done the Pirate thing but looks so much fun, have a great week Simon
Hi, I live here and yes, the Goat Ledge is a fantastic place for all things fishy!
Be warned, after dark the seagulls are packing! 😄😄
The seagulls still give me nightmares, thanks for watching
I'd lo e to move back down to Hastings, but I'm worried about the job situation. I've got a shot at a mutual exchange in Kent in the outskirts of London, so for now that might be the best, still easy access to Hastings with the Southern Railway
There is no job situation. Be prepared to commute to Brighton or London if you live in Hastings. I did it for years and it is much worse there now. Glad I got away but it's nice to visit occasionally.
@@newsbender I'll be moving to London, but I can still go down to Hastings for holiday
@@Darkangel-A-c8z sure you can. I live in Frankfurt and I still drive to Hastings every once in a while 🙂
Sorry the music was to much
Please cut the awful music next time. Good video tho
Thanks for taking the time to watch, I’m still working on what works with the music, have a great day
@@Jetsetsimon it's nice to hear the ambience of the town and people. No music is good. In my opinion.
