One of the easiest and fun mop up scenarios, once I figured their weak points it was a breeze, personally, I find horns of hattin and the last scenario much harder but easily doable in de due to increased population slot. I'm fact just done the scene again and it was too easy. Second TC outside walls between trees and gold, build maybe 1 or 2 Towers around the TC for the villagers to run into. (defense against blue and purple) Castle outside city walls on north, just left of the gate to protect against yellow ships, not too close to water as demo ships will require constant repair on the castle. Protect castle against cannon galleons with own war galleys. Add a few Towers inside your walls against ships and blue. No more than 40 villagers needed. 10 11 farms plus 5 boats are enough. This scene is all about anti cavalry units. After Tripoli defeated with camels, mamelukes and spearman keep increasing anti cavalry units. Keep cruushing knights with mamelukes and make your way down to Orange. With build speed upgrade use 6 7 villagers to build a castle, maybe 2 just outside orange city, it will trigger all their units to come out and play. Mamelukes for knights and heavy camels for onagers. If lucky enough 1 castle will be complete. Kill their archers. Make 4 trebs and destroy all their Towers and wonder. Go inside and kill their villagers and orange will resign. By now all your units are upgraded. Focus on sea defense for yellow. Destroy blue and enjoy the scenario. No need to go after yellow as land offence is more fun than sea defence. Keep defending your sea castle and Towers and snipe all their incoming ships. Mission complete...
@Spaceboy Digital woww, i can't believe I wrote that 3 years ago, I'm sorry yo hear that strategy didn't work for you but happy to help. Main thing I learnt from SOTL and ornlu the wolf videos is that single town centre is never enough, you need multiple TC's, he is a pro at booming and no matter what I do I can never be good at booming like that. My strat is always castle drops as i love seeing enemy units get chewed up by castles. I keep playing the scenarios so I can figure out the best place for castle drops. I will them with at least 5 or 6 archers and watch them snipe oncoming traffic It may work for you, it may not, but i enjoy seeing enemy units get wasted trying to bring my castles down. For this you needs lots of stone ,with all maps, try and find out where all stone deposits are so you can get to it quickly and mine it. When game starts you have 3 main enemies and 1 rebel enemy, they will no doubt attack first. Game starts, begin training villagers and build second TC outside between trees gold and stone deposit. When you are attacked you will need to garrison your villagers in the TC. Get to castle age and if you have enough stone build the castle on left outside your walls for the incoming yellow ships. When they begin, they send lots of ships and transport land units. Which means you need to keep repairing this one. (Upgrades are a must such as murder holes, blacksmith upgrades and anti ship attack upgrades) Scout the map to locate all the sheep and mines. Train some anti cavalry units and keep them near your second TC. Rebels will attack by now and they are easy to deal with, garrison your villagers ,target their ram and mangonel first and eliminate the first one. Train warships especially fire ship in case yellow starts targeting your castle with bombard galleon otherwise your castle is wasted, they will also send bombard cannons later on so constant repair will be needed. If you have spare stone build some towers inside your base, edge of water to pick at enemy ships that's get close. Now focus on blue on orange. Blue won't attack unless triggered, you will locate another stone deposit towards middle right, need a castle there to defend miners . When you have a lot of upgraded units and orange starts to build wonder, move them a bit closer and closer to the outside of their walls with lots of Mamelukes , monks and archers, cav archers. Bring 7 to 8 villagers also . Your first castle will be built a bit closer to the water source where orange will send their ships to attack but far enough for them to not reach properly. When you start building ,orange will send all their units outside, so as the castle is building, defend villagers but pick off attackers with Mameluke, cav archers and heal them with monks, when castle built, garrison archers so they defend, if you want more fun, build second castle side by side to keep attacking orange . Their units will be depleted so send trebs to snipe all their towers and target their wonder. They will eventually resign. All you have left is blue and by now all your castles are picking off their units at random spots. Snipe their castles with trebs, send anti cavalry units to counter their attackers and victory will be yours.
Why cant they call it a jihad? It was a "war against the infidel". Just because new people started a new jihad with planes doesnt mean Saladins jihad can no longer be spoken of. At least saladins jihad was totally warranted.
I don't disagree! But that fine level of distinction would be lost on the general public, which is why no company today would use it (in all likelihood). That's what I was referring to, not to my personal opinions :)
@@OrnLu_AoE fun fact. Jihad means to strife, to struggle. Since this is the final mission to reclaim Jerusalem, we are expected to make the final struggle in the process, although, this isn't the final mission. by far one of the hardest and most annoying mission of the whole game! the mission barely starts and you literally get attacked from all sides with barely a chance to defend.
I remember this mission well from the older AoE2 version... I paid 1000 gold to Blue player and nothing happened... But Orange wonder was almost ready and the Yellow player continued to destroy my village... Btw safer place for TC is somewhere east, for example between wood and gold mine and build a castle nearby.

This scenario now has Scilians instead of Byz. The Sargents are really annoying Edit: I went heavier on navy and was able to snipe Tyre's transport ships before the landed. Built a castle close-ish to where the Tripoli Guards start but protecting that gold pile and Tiberias's units run into it. Made Mamalukes to take care of the rams
So I used a noob but effective strategy: 1. Defended like mad at the start 2. Create enough economy to attack Ascalon and defend against Tyre Used fast fire ships against their Tyre Ships. Light Calvary against their siege and castle against their Tyre troops. Use a combination of fire ships, war galleys to lure Ascalon navy out to the open. Build transport ships, some light calvary as Lure and offloaded trebs etc at the southern coast and swung against their wonder. By the time Ascalon destroyed my light calvary and warships, my trebs already destroyed their wonder. Then took the time to defeat Ascalon since they won't attack you. Just create Rams and slowly take down their towers while using trash unit against their troops. 3. Once Ascalon is defeated, I hoard enough gold for Tiberias to make them ally. 4. One Tiberias become Ally, I just outlast Tyre Because Tyre have limited resources, eventually they will stop attacking you once their resources goes low.

After enough stone has gathered, those 5 villagers build a castle in a location where I’ll get attacked the most. Once the castle is up, I keep on producing Mamelukes. By the time the first attack wave comes, I have almost 10-11 Mamelukes & they easily kill all the units coming from all the enemies. & after the first wave the enemies take time to attack so until then I build up my economy, make a second castle & keep on producing Mamelukes. I must say these unique units saved my ass. I didn’t have to use any other units as they literally wiped the enemy units easily. 😄

pretty neat detail from ES (I'm assuming) to include Alexander's Causeway from the 332 BC Siege of Tyre (you can see it at 38:19)
