4:00 minutes into this video and I’m smiling ear to ear hearing the story of you testing the 96 mystic Cobra. 13.38, slicks or not, is hauling ass in a stock cobra! All these memories brother, love it!
13 seconds was fast for anything from that era. It’s not far off from the 07 GT500s and some newer cars.
@@EricFortuneJr. Evan ran 12.25 at 116 mph in a stock 07 gt500 on stock tires. With slicks it would have went 11s easy. I'd say that is pretty far off what 07 gt500s do.
@@midnight34712.2 is what the later Shelbys could hit when they were upgraded to like 550 hp in 2011.
I call shenanigans on a 07 hitting 12.2 completely stock. Half a second is a lot of time in a ¼mile and 07s could do 12.7.
@@midnight347 I found a salty 07 GT500 owner. Sad that it takes slicks on the 07 GT500 to do what a lot of 10 speed gen 3 coyote cars can do on stock rubber.

I made that big Cobra R sign on the wall. I remember when this guy ordered it, he never told me how many he had.
I love that white Mach 1. One of the best sounding stock cars of all time.
I've always said that same thing.
I prefer Azure Blue, but you're right, that bark from the early DOHCs can not be beat.
The 300 hp White 1995 351 R is my a ultimate fave.
This guy's collection is amazing! I wouldn't have the restraint to not drive them, especially the R-models. I still have the magazine with the 6.1 CJR article... my favorite of all!
03 cobras changed the game. Younger guys may not remember it except from reading articles, but the idea of greater than 400 HP in a DD prior to the terminator was fairly unusual. Never mind the guys who quickly got them to 500, or 600, or even 700 HP not too long after their introduction. And to Vinny and Evans point, those numbers required modifications yes, but we’re talking swapping out the power adder and supporting mods, not internal modifications. I was 21 at time the terminator came out. $34-36,000 was out of my reach back then but I realized just how much performance you were getting for a comparatively cheap price
It's the best bang for buck ever offered on a new mustang for its specific era and prob always will be.
I bought the first one the SVT dealer got in 02. A mineral gray 03, had it for about 3 months before i put Bassani exhaust, changed pulley, took it to a tuner and had it tuned and the limiter removed (top speed was 155 on thre speedo, that would be reach in 5th gear easily with another gear to go)
I am 44 and I owed foxes n currently a New Edge so thank you guys SO much for 90 minutes of forgetting about everything but Mustangs.
I think the collection itself would indeed impress a GM guy but to be honest, those of us that have lived through the golden Fox body years and forward will appreciate this way more. I mean, it basically leaves you speechless.
As a GM guy that loves mustangs, you are correct lol. He has the best mustang collection that I’ve ever seen.
My '03 Cobra is stock (I guess except for tint). Agree that just starting the car up and taking it for a spin hasn't dulled the experience one iota. Had #7034 for several years now (previously had a '95 Rio Red Cobra #1979 and maybe 6 other GT 5.0's), but this quicksilver beast....she'll be with me and later the family for decades to come...

Terminator mistychrome is my favorite one. But the oxford white mach1 is a beauty. That color scheme now Is being used by many manufacturers. Like molars and chevys. White car matte black graphics. Very revolutionary schemes!

Vinny Kong!!!!.... I went to SUNY Farmingdale with him. He brought his vortech supercharged lx vert there. Also brought in his motor to put on the Dyno. Glad to see he is still into mustangs!!!

Evan, amazing video and collection, I was blown away. I really enjoyed when you guys talked about the 03/04 cobra story, I was a kid when those cars came out and I dreamed about owning one ever since, I knew that those cars dominated the streets and drags in the early to mid 2000’s. I enjoy any story of the 03/04 cobra when it was brand new, they made history and that’s what I appreciate the most. Finally last year I was able to pick one up and it’s been nothing but a blast. Thank you for the video 🙏🏻

I had a 74 Mustang II Mach 1. It was a red fastback with the V6 and a 4 speed. Top speed was a blistering 80mph! I loved that car, even though it was as slow as a snail, lol. I really wished I had kept it and put a stout small block in it. Love these great examples of Ford history!

Man I truly miss those days . I bought my 1st Stang in 88 . A Notchback LX . It originally came with speed density . I them swapped to mass air and bought a PRO M 77mm by Atwood when it launched . I was really sorry for his passing though . I believe GRANETELLI bought'm a few years later .

I love what they did with the 03-04 Cobras. Took it to a whole other level of performance. The values on those cars are still pretty high even for one with over 100K miles. I briefly owned a 2001 Cobra but I think that car was just a place holder while they were working on the new 03-04.
It was supposed to be a 2002 cobra they didn't get it out in time so it came out mid 2002 as an 03 model. They was originally considering an na 5.4 4v similar to what the 00 r had but eventually decided to just put boost on the 4.6 which was a wise decision. Colletti fought hard to be able to factory supercharge the cobra. They were very far ahead of the game. A blower on top of a 4v is a menace. Look at the coyotes. They all owe thanks to the terminator. And the older gt500 as well I love em all.
Terminators are still one of the most respected cars. I’ve even heard mustang haters talk their crap but they always say “except for the 03-04 cobras”. Like a dummy I sold my 03 in 2017.

The interesting thing about the 1995 Mustang Cobra R, was it had a massive 5.8L V8 that put out 300 HP and 365 lbs. torque. I owned a 1998 Mustang GT 4.6L V8 and it only had 225 HP and 290 Lbs. I cannot imagine how fun that Cobra R is to drive, because the GT sounded great but was gutless and the car was slow as hell.
I remember a 2005 Mustang GT with the updated 4.6L V8 smoking me since it had 320hp and 320 lbs torque.
I definitely enjoyed that 90s style Mustang.

Good to see that Vinnie "the hitman" is doing well. So many awesome cars and today's favorite had to be the new edge Mach one. We need to see all of the photos of the Mach being built!

My all time favorite 5.0 is the 1995 GTS. The stripped down version with no rear wing, and roll up windows. Not many were made.
What a gent to share his collection like this. I love the fact each and every one has a story to tell. Me? I'd take the '21 Mach 1, but I'm an S197-fan, so the '13 Boss 302 is also a favourite..........but the last '14 5.0 S197 is very special too. Would love to see more of that one. Thank you guys, I've thoroughly enjoyed these 3 videos!

Evan, my only complaint is you didn't give the same in-depth to the S197's, otherwise super job. Good to hear Chevy Lovers are realizing you're better off with an original !!

I was about 13 when my neighbor drove past in a '79 Indy. turbo 4, running ponies. That was the first time that I realized that cars existed. I'd spent the previous 7-8 years in the woods on a motorcycle. My automobile awakening. My only SVT was an '08 Bullitt. Deer got that one. Glad I waited for the Mach ! if I can find one available.
The ‘85 notch would the funnest car in that whole collection to hoon in, IMO.

The Mach 1 was basically a straight-axle 01 Cobra (pretty much) with a Bullitt interior.
I like to see Ford come out a 6.0L DOHC V8 with 4.02 inch bore. Stroke figure that out lol. Maybe 4 throttle bodies. Basically two each side upwards. 11 in 1 compression. Heads intake valves oval shape. Exhaust valves big around. 6 bolt main or 8 lol. Just some of the ideas. I'm not a engineer lol. Might get 804hp and torque 848 lol
Evan, I love all the stuff you post but man this series is AWESOME. keep up the great content. Honestly watching it made me feel like my Pre-Production 96 Cobra test vehicle belongs in his collection.

I’m speechless, I’m just in amazement
I worked in a ford dealership when the 96 Cobra was current. I was talking to a couple of guys who were rabid Mustang fans. We were discussing all of the technology that was put into the 96 version Cobra, and I casually said that it was "the most technologically advanced Fairmont ever made " there was a palpable pause as that reality was absorbed. The Fairmont was generally not referenced among the period among the hard-core fans. It was viewed as a bit of a slur. I had to apologize for the comparison by adding that this is a fact, not an insult. That shows just how The Fairmont was so negatively viewed within the Mustang fan base at the time.
The Fairmont was in no way a bad thing. It was just too boxy and utilitarian compared with what it had evolved into.

Favorite is the Mach 1, in 04 I tried to buy one but was a little late to the party and ended up with a GT convertible. Truth of the matter is I am a Chevrolet man but I loved the look of the 03 and 04 Mustangs and the Mach 1 was just about as bad ass as could be.

Forget to tell you Evan. Besides they 03 mach 1 and 07 gt500 red with black stripes and 410 miles on it. And my sister in law has 96 mystic with 9000 miles. And I had 5 foxbody mustang. And an 98 and 99 gt that I put 40 grand into two make it fast. So point is we are die hard mustang fans.

The collection of all the specialty mustangs and cobra's the one I don't see is chrome yellow feature car convertible either in black top black interior or white top white interior. Those cars at the time dealers couldn't hardly sell them and they all seem to be in the state of Florida.

My first car was a 85’ HO 5.0 jalapeño red. In 1991 I was 17 and recall reading about you and reading Vinnies articles. So this was freaking Rad! Like another commentator said this could’ve been a 10 part or more serious. Hopefully we see some videos. TYJ I now have a 20’ 350R.
The 96 98 mod motors were junk.I bought a new 97 cobra off the lot and the motor blew with 2 thousand miles.

These are truly wonderful video's! What a fantastic collection Dave and thanks for sharing it with us. I wish you would have touched more on the 86 SVO turbo 4 cylinder car. I always wanted one of those. But I learned a ton about these cars of that era thanks to you guys! Love it!

Sold my 04 Terminator to buy a 14 track pack and I've regretted it ever since. Thought I wanted a more "modern" mustang. What a mistake.

Awesome video! Great seeing Vinny chime in with his thoughts. I actually own Vinny's Dark Shadow Gray Terminator that he put the Kenne Bell Mammoth supercharger on. I've owned it since 2009. I still love it!
